Acknowledging risk factors related to anxiety among epileptic patients may be useful in tailoring more appropriate psychiatric support. AIM: The aim of our study is to investigate risk factors related to anxiety among epileptic patients. AIM: The objectives of the study were to compare total cholesterol levels in men with schizophren... more AIM: The objectives of the study were to compare total cholesterol levels in men with schizophrenia receiving risperidone and haloperidol treatment. METHODS: We conducted on treatment analysis experiment study involving 30 subjects who received risperidone and 30 subjects who received haloperidol. Total cholesterol levels were examined at week 0 and week 8. RESULTS: There were no statistically significant differences in baseline characteristics. At week 8, mean of total cholesterol level in the risperidone group was 207.23 ± 21.49 compared to 188.17 ± 17.00 in the haloperidol group. A difference of 19.06 ± 5.00 (95% CI 9.05–29.08) was observed, which is statistically significant (p < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: There was a statistically significant increase in total cholesterol levels in men with schizophrenia receiving risperidone compared to haloperidol. The studies show homocysteine in people with schizophrenia was significantly increased, abnormal homocysteine metabolism can lead to DNA methylation. AIM: This study aimed to establish the correlation between the Indonesian Montreal Cognitive Assessment Version (MoCA-Ina) scores and homocysteine levels in males with Bataknese schizophrenia. METHODS: This study is a numerical correlative analytic study with an approach to cross-sectional study; by evaluating the correlation between the MoCA-Ina scores and the level of homocysteine in males with Bataknese schizophrenia. Background: Schizophrenia is a common psychotic disorder, with a risk of about 1%, the etiology o... more Background: Schizophrenia is a common psychotic disorder, with a risk of about 1%, the etiology of schizophrenia unknown, one of which includes immunological disorders. Although, there are conflicting results, most studies focusing on plasma levels or the production of mitogen-stimulated cytokines. Furthermore, this study compared serum levels of TNF-α in male chronic schizophrenic patients and healthy control. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 40 male patients diagnosed with chronic schizophrenic and 40 healthy control. Severity of illness was assessed with PANSS. Serum levels of TNF-α were measured by Quantikine HS Human TNF-α Immunoassay. Results: TNF-α levels were significantly higher in chronic schizophrenic (25.12±1.76) to healthy control subjects (5.49±1.69), p=0.001; p<0.05. Conclusion: This study suggested that TNF-α play a role in the immunopathogenesis of schizophrenia and behavioral changes. The relationship between schizophrenia and inflammation was supported by the production of abnormal cytokines.

This is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach to describe the level of depression of female caregivers in Prof. dr. M. Ildrem Mental Hospital Medan, using HADS instruments. Most age group of caregivers is from age 51-60 years that is 48.15%, caregiver's work status mostly not works (62.96%), marital status of caregiver mostly is married (59.26%), kinship with most patients are a biological mother (57.41%). Most patient age group is from age below 30 years (50%), work status of most patients is not working (81.48%), marital status of most caregiver is married (83.33%). Since then, the concept of Folie à deux has been developed and produces several subtypes in France. In DSM, this disorder is called Shared Psychotic Disorder, and in ICD-10, it is called Induced Delusional Disorder. However, some of the classic subtypes of Folie à deux are not included in the above categories. CASE REPORT: We found a case of shared psychotic disorder between a 38-year-old male inducer, a Batak tribe with two female recipients, 34 and 36 years from the Batak tribe. They were found to share the same delusions and hallucinations, and inducers could make recipients into trance conditions. These three individuals did not get along with the surrounding community and often carried out activities and perform rituals together. Various data in some developing countries stated that the LBP incidence is approximately 15%-20% of the population. Because there is the unclear incidence of psychological symptoms such as depression on LBP, the researchers were interested in doing this research. A descriptive study was conducted to know the level of depression of patients with LBP in outpatient of neurology RS HAM Medan. Patients with LBP (n=78) in outpatient were examined BDI-II. The minimum depression was 47.44% (n=37), mild depression was 21.79% (n=17), moderate depression was 21.79% (n=17), severe depression was 8.98% (n=7). In conclusion, the level of depression in lower back pain patient at outpatient of neurology Haji Adam Malik Hospital Medan is higher at minimum depression.

This interference is normally started before age 25, and it can affect all social classes. AIM: To find out the difference in total positive and negative syndrome scale (PANSS) scores in schizophrenia between Bataknese and Javanese who have received treatment with risperidone. METHODS: This study is a prospective study. This study used numeric comparative analytic two unpaired groups to observe the differences of PANSS score of the man with schizophrenia between Bataknese and Javanese who had received risperidone treatment. RESULTS: Our study found that the average score of PANSS for Bataknese was 49.76 ± 12.65 and Javanese was 42.43 ± 9.05. CONCLUSION: There was a difference score of PANSS for the man with schizophrenia between Bataknese and Javanese who had received risperidone treatment for 6 weeks (p = 0.037).

AIM: The objectives of the study were to compare total cholesterol levels in men with schizophren... more AIM: The objectives of the study were to compare total cholesterol levels in men with schizophrenia receiving risperidone and haloperidol treatment. METHODS: We conducted on treatment analysis experiment study involving 30 subjects who received risperidone and 30 subjects who received haloperidol. Total cholesterol levels were examined at week 0 and week 8. RESULTS: There were no statistically significant differences in baseline characteristics. At week 8, mean of total cholesterol level in the risperidone group was 207.23 ± 21.49 compared to 188.17 ± 17.00 in the haloperidol group. A difference of 19.06 ± 5.00 (95% CI 9.05–29.08) was observed, which is statistically significant (p < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: There was a statistically significant increase in total cholesterol levels in men with schizophrenia receiving risperidone compared to haloperidol. Although, there are conflicting results, most studies focusing on plasma levels or the production of mitogen-stimulated cytokines. Furthermore, this study compared serum levels of TNF-α in male chronic schizophrenic patients and healthy control. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 40 male patients diagnosed with chronic schizophrenic and 40 healthy control. Severity of illness was assessed with PANSS. Serum levels of TNF-α were measured by Quantikine HS Human TNF-α Immunoassay. Results: TNF-α levels were significantly higher in chronic schizophrenic (25.12±1.76) to healthy control subjects (5.49±1.69), p=0.001; p<0.05. Conclusion: This study suggested that TNF-α play a role in the immunopathogenesis of schizophrenia and behavioral changes. The relationship between schizophrenia and inflammation was supported by the production of abnormal cytokines.

Most age group of caregivers is from age 51-60 years that is 48.15%, caregiver's work status mostly not works (62.96%), marital status of caregiver mostly is married (59.26%), kinship with most patients are a biological mother (57.41%). Most patient age group is from age below 30 years (50%), work status of most patients is not working (81.48%), marital status of most caregiver is married (83.33%). Mostly of the depressive syndrome is mild depression (42.59%). Mostly of the depressive syndrome is from mild depression.

Since then, the concept of Folie à deux has been developed and produces several subtypes in France. In DSM, this disorder is called Shared Psychotic Disorder, and in ICD-10, it is called Induced Delusional Disorder. However, some of the classic subtypes of Folie à deux are not included in the above categories. CASE REPORT: We found a case of shared psychotic disorder between a 38-year-old male inducer, a Batak tribe with two female recipients, 34 and 36 years from the Batak tribe. Various data in some developing countries stated that the LBP incidence is approximately 15%-20% of the population. Because there is the unclear incidence of psychological symptoms such as depression on LBP, the researchers were interested in doing this research. A descriptive study was conducted to know the level of depression of patients with LBP in outpatient of neurology RS HAM Medan. Patients with LBP (n=78) in outpatient were examined BDI-II. The minimum depression was 47.44% (n=37), mild depression was 21.79% (n=17), moderate depression was 21.79% (n=17), severe depression was 8.98% (n=7). In conclusion, the level of depression in lower back pain patient at outpatient of neurology Haji Adam Malik Hospital Medan is higher at minimum depression.

This interference is normally started before age 25, and it can affect all social classes. AIM: To find out the difference in total positive and negative syndrome scale (PANSS) scores in schizophrenia between Bataknese and Javanese who have received treatment with risperidone. METHODS: This study is a prospective study. This study used numeric comparative analytic two unpaired groups to observe the differences of PANSS score of the man with schizophrenia between Bataknese and Javanese who had received risperidone treatment. RESULTS: Our study found that the average score of PANSS for Bataknese was 49.76 ± 12.65 and Javanese was 42.43 ± 9.05. CONCLUSION: There was a difference score of PANSS for the man with schizophrenia between Bataknese and Javanese who had received risperidone treatment for 6 weeks (p = 0.037).
