The degradation of indoor air quality (IAQ) has raised serious issues. Botanical biofilters are an exciting solution for lowering indoor air pollution. However, plants cultivated inside under low light intensity (10–50 µ mole PAR m− 2 s− 1) generate CO2 in the indoor atmosphere. Combining C3 and CAM plants may be able to address this problem by lowering CO2 emission levels and enhancing the efficiency of pollution removal by removing the primary indoor air pollutants from actual interior settings, including Carbon dioxide (CO2), formaldehyde (HCHO), particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), and total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs). As a result, a successful botanical biofilter made of several plants was researched. Indoor plants can phytoremediate a variety of indoor contaminants. However, just a few studies have demonstrated its efficacy in practical contexts. Due to the harsh winter,...

Different bioinformatics tools and databases like ANNOVAR, ALoFT, and GWAS were used to identify both common and rare variants associated with the pathogenesis of MDD. RESULTS A total of 1985 variations were identified in 479 MDD-related genes. Several SNPs including rs1079610, rs11750538, rs1799913, rs1801131, rs2230267, rs2231187, rs3819976, rs4314963, rs56265970, rs587780434, rs6330, rs75111588, rs7596487, and rs9624909 were prioritized due to their deleteriousness and frequency difference between the patients and the South Asian population. A non-synonymous variation rs56265970 (BCR) had 26% frequency in patients and was not found in the South Asian population; a multiallelic UTR-5' insertion rs587780434 (RELN) was present with an allelic frequency of 70% in patients whereas 22% in the SAS population. Genetic alterations in PABPC1 genes, a stress-associated gene also had higher allele frequency in the cases than in the normal population. CONCLUSION This present study identifies both common and rare variants in the genes associated with the pathogenesis of MDD in Pakistani patients. Genetic variations in BCR, RELN, and stress-associated PABPC1 suggest potential roles in the pathogenesis of MDD.

Modern warfare and radar systems utilize an extensive range of technologies to fulfill the operational requirements of air defense system. Radar Technology is emerging exponentially and requires detection at High Speed and Long Range. Radars are designed to determine the parameters of the targets i.e. range and Doppler. Match filtering, Doppler processing and CFAR algorithms are generally used to determine these parameters. However, the performance of these algorithms is not adequate in terms of high speed target, interferences and accurate estimation of range and Doppler. In this study, a ...

Range Management and Agroforestry, 2018

Soil nutrient availability and physio-chemical properties under Acacia modesta and Olea ferrugine... more Soil nutrient availability and physio-chemical properties under Acacia modesta and Olea ferruginea trees growing in rangeland and agricultural land were compared at Dharabi Watershed, Chakwal, Pakistan. Change in soil characteristics under these tree species were recorded at a depth of 0–15 cm, 16–30 cm, and 31–45 cm and at various distances (1, 3, and 5 m) from tree trunk. Available P, K and saturation percentage were found higher under Olea ferruginea as compared to Acacia modesta. Results showed that soil of rangeland under Olea ferruginea had moderately higher N (0.25 mg/kg), P (6.36 mg/kg), pH (7.83), EC (0.339 dS/m), total organic carbon (2.83 g/kg), CaCO3 (23.60 mg/kg), organic matter (0.49%) and bulk density (1.55 g/cm3). It was concluded that Olea ferruginea had positive impact on soil physio-chemical properties through improving OM and EC and macronutrients availability. Therefore, this tree species can be suggested as a suitable alternative for sustainable plantation in D...

It took account of the main area of the relations that acted as conflicted nature for India and Pakistan post 2001 till 2015, namely, Border Disputes and upon this the US-management is been analyzed. Case studies of prominent border disputes i.e. Sir Creek, Siachen and Kashmir have been taken into account. This study finds that the USA foresee to promote peace in the region, but tilt towards the India is prominent for its huge economic market (and other incentives) for managing the relations. On the issue of Kashmir, the US has been active in mediating since beginning of the issue but due to India's attitude to resolve issue without a mediator; the US foreign policy in this regard could not give fruits.
