However, the cost and time required for traveling is a drawback. This contribution describes the exchange of teaching content between Germany and Argentina based on an e-learning approach. Short lectures are recorded on video and supplement the teaching of the local lecturer. The teaching content addresses digital logic design with FPGAs and is targeted to advanced students. The video lectures introduce an image processing algorithm for driver assistance in modern cars, which is a motivating application for students. The remote-lab allows the students to perform lab exercises with real hardware. The topic of lane detection for driver assistance is a specific application. The video lectures correspond to 1 or 2 weeks of teaching and can be used as a supplement for an existing course on digital design, FPGAs or signal processing.

In addition to classic modules, our department considers sustainability subjects such as energy awareness. This paper describes the implementation of a teaching plan for energy-efficient design in hands-on labs and visualizes the possibilities to bring the methods of reducing power consumption closer to students and observe the size of the effects.

Also people outside these professions should have a basic understanding of technical concepts, trends and challenges. This paper describes a module of electronics for technical journalists and shows that electronics can be successfully communicated finding a balance between simplification and accuracy.

Optical distortions, resulting from lens characteristics, non- aligned projection and variations ... more Optical distortions, resulting from lens characteristics, non- aligned projection and variations in the light source, decrease the quality of projection displays. Knowledge of the sources and characteristics of these distortions allows their electronic correc- tion. The integration of electronic image correction in the display controller IC allows high quality projection without additional components. 1. Introduction For image presentation with a projection system, the electronic image information is presented on a digital display device, e.g. an LCD or DMD. A lens system is used to project the image onto a screen. For image acquisition with an electronic camera a scene in the real world is projected by a lens system on an image sensor and transferred to an electronic signal. In the projector as well as the camera an optical system and an electronic system work closely together. Consequently, during the design of the electronic system the characteristics of the optical system and vi...

Different techniques have been combined in order to achieve a compact realization. The application of special QMF structures results in a further reduction of hardware expense. High clocking rates are handled using two dimensional polyphase filterbanks in combination with pipelining and parallel processing. An architecture suitable for one-chip implementation of a 10 x 14 tap QM filterbank has been developed.
