Analizando dos novelas que retratan figuras paternas implicadas en la represion, pretendo mostrar... more Analizando dos novelas que retratan figuras paternas implicadas en la represion, pretendo mostrar que, valiendose del formato hibrido de la autoficcion, los “hijos” y sus coetaneos abordan la ultima dictadura militar introduciendo voces que complementan las de las victimas y sus familiares. Mientras que Soy un bravo piloto de la nueva China contrapone dramaticamente la historia de un represor y su hijo a la de un “hijo”, Una misma noche esta protagonizada por un narrador que lucha por conciliarse con un acto de colaboracion de su padre. Si, en ambas obras, la cercania biografica entre autor y narrador posibilita una mayor identificacion del lector con este ultimo (Arfuch 2013), el recurso a la ficcion permite esquivar juicios sobre la verdad de lo narrado y criticas de un aduenamiento “inapropiado” (Blejmar 2014). Propongo que, de este modo, la autoficcion facilita no solo la introduccion de estas perspectivas, sino incluso su desplazamiento hacia papeles protagonicos. Remitiendo a ...
Forty years after its outbreak, the last dictatorship (1976-1983) remains a highly visible theme ... more Forty years after its outbreak, the last dictatorship (1976-1983) remains a highly visible theme in Argentine literature. This article proposes to investigate an important trend in the narratives of the sons and daughters of the victims of dictatorial violence: that of questioning the lasting effects that the repression and their parents' political decisions keep having on the descendants' private life. By connecting recently developed theories in the areas of trauma literature and collective memory with an analysis of the role played by humour in dealing with individual and collective trauma, I will show that Ernesto Semán's novel Soy un bravo piloto de la nueva China (2011) makes use of the comical in order to combine the restauration of family ties with a working through of the trauma provoked by the abduction and death of an activist father.
Reed-Xiaoli detector (RXD) is recognized as the benchmark algorithm for image anomaly detection; ... more Reed-Xiaoli detector (RXD) is recognized as the benchmark algorithm for image anomaly detection; however, it presents known limitations, namely the dependence over the image following a multivariate Gaussian model, the estimation and inversion of a high-dimensional covariance matrix, and the inability to effectively include spatial awareness in its evaluation. In this work, a novel graph-based solution to the image anomaly detection problem is proposed; leveraging the graph Fourier transform, we are able to overcome some of RXD's limitations while reducing computational cost at the same time. Tests over both hyperspectral and medical images, using both synthetic and real anomalies, prove the proposed technique is able to obtain significant gains over performance by other algorithms in the state of the art.
Si, en terminos psicoanaliticos, el Otro senala lo que existe mas alla de los limites del Yo y po... more Si, en terminos psicoanaliticos, el Otro senala lo que existe mas alla de los limites del Yo y posibilita la comunicacion, su desaparicion atenta contra las referencias espacio-temporales y los lazos simbolico-sociales que ese Otro representa, dejando un exceso de significacion y afecto en la comunidad (Martin-Cabrera 2016: 27). En los textos que estudiare, la narracion refleja ese derrumbe de referencias provocado por el trauma de la desaparicion, obedeciendo a la Nachtraglichkeit freudiana tal como la interpreta Ruth Leys (2000): en los dos casos, el trauma surge en la dialectica entre un momento originario y otro posterior que evoca el primero. Bruzzone y Dillon expresan ese desfase temporal mediante estructuras narrativas que socavan la referencialidad cronologica, sea por una frenetica fuga hacia adelante (Los topos) o por un incesante vaiven analeptico (Aparecida). Resumen El presente artículo analiza la novela En la orilla (2013) de Rafael Chirbes a través de ... more Resumen El presente artículo analiza la novela En la orilla (2013) de Rafael Chirbes a través de la influencia que ejerce Walter Benjamin sobre la narrativa del autor. Propongo que la estructura de la novela, al incorporar una multitud heterogénea de voces narrativas autodiegéticas bajo la mirada retirada de un narrador omnisciente neutro, sigue el principio de la escritura-constelación del filósofo alemán. Según Benjamin, este procedimiento constituye una alternativa a los prejuicios ideológicos que sustentan la historiografía tradicional. Adoptando este método, Chirbes, quien ve la historia no como una cadena de etapas independientes sino como un continuo temporal, sitúa las raíces de la crisis económica española actual en una falta de procesamiento colectivo e individual de la guerra civil que comienza en la contienda y que se prolonga hasta la crisis de 2008.

The present article analyses Rafael Chirbes’ novel En la orilla (2013), drawing on the influence ... more The present article analyses Rafael Chirbes’ novel En la orilla (2013), drawing on the influence exercised by Walter Benjamin on the author’s narrative writing. I propose that the novel’s structure, by incorporating a heterogeneous number of autodiegetic narrative voices under the drawn-back gaze of a neutral omniscient narrator, follows the German philosopher’s concept of the constellation. According to Benjamin, this method of writing constitutes an alternative to the historical prejudice underpinning traditional historiography. By adopting this procedure, Chirbes, to whom history represents a temporal continuum rather than a chain of independent stages, situates the roots of Spain’s latest economic crisis in a lack of collective and individual processing of the Civil War, which dates back to the time of the conflict and extends to this day.

Propongo que la estructura de la novela, al incorporar una multitud heterogénea de voces narrativas autodiegéticas bajo la mirada retirada de un narrador omnisciente neutro, sigue el principio de la escritura-constelación del filósofo alemán.
