Nasopharyngeal Phonocephalography was found successful for recording of normal tracing. The effect of the extra-cephalic sounds and factors on the tracing were discussed. Phonomyelography is the application of the idea on the vertebral column. The tracing recorded was demonstrated. Modern technology has undergone considerable progress for the introduction of non-invasive techniques in medical diagnosis. Since Laennec introduced his stethoscope auscultation, amplification and recording of sounds in cardiology had reached a respectable diagnostic procedure. This article represents a trial for the introduction of a simple non-invasive pre-angiographic diagnostic technique by amplification and recording of sounds from the surface and cavities of the body.

The incident at the Marco Polo Bridge on the outskirts of Peiping on July 7, 1937 provided the Land of the Rising Sun with the pretext to set off against China a full-scale war, which was regarded as “a natural consequence of fixed national policy calling for establishment of a solid footing on the continent.”2 Japan decided to strike before the Kuomintang-Communist Alliance, following the Sian kidnapping episode of December 1936, could be developed into an effective united front against her.

Sociology has become an academic discipline recognized in the United States of America in the late nineteenth century, particularly, after the establishment of the first department of sociology in the University of Chicago in 1892. That was during the period of the rapid industrialization and sustainable growth of the Chicago City. The Chicago School relied on Chicago City in particular, as one of the American cities that grew and expanded rapidly in the first two decades of the twentieth century. At the end of the nineteenth century, the city witnessed the arrival of large numbers of immigrants from Europe and South America. Accordingly, this study aims to examine the heritage of the Chicago School in depth, focusing on its origin, genesis, and development of the Chicago School of Urban Sociology. It also sheds light on its emergence and dominance over the American academic edifice in the first two decades of the twentieth century. The study further aims to investigate the role of the pragmatic thought in the growth and development of this school as a prominent scientific edifice among all American universities. The golden age of this school and the creativity of its pioneers of the scholars continued until the mid-forties. Thus, the study is to explain the causes of its decline after the mid-forties of the last century.

In doing so the study will try to answer this vital question: to what extent Gramsci’s ideas were dependent upon those of Lenin and more specifically, to what extent is Gramsci’s analysis of the capitalist state ultimately no more powerful than that of Lenin? It should be emphasised that this study has been done according to a comparative methodology of the history of theory applied in the fields of sociology in general and political sociology in particular. Basically, this study has been done according to an explanatory approach applied in both fields of politics and political sociology. This study divided into eight sections. The first section devoted to the introduction. The second section deals with Lenin’s view on the revolution, power and the socialist state. The third section explains Gramsci’s view on the hegemony of the party and the state. Section four ...
