The index presented with progressive irritability, abnormal movements, following an accidental fall. The history revealed early onset of irritability, progressive visual loss, and global developmental delay, more prominent at the gross motor level and a suspected congenital cytomegalovirus infection. The pregnancy was uneventful with subsequent unremarkable delivery. The parents are Arabs&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;#39;first cousins with no apparent symptoms or signs of bone disease. Three dimensional brain computed tomography (CT) showed ventriculomegaly, thick calvaria, and CS of the coronal and sagittal sutures. Patient had signs of left lower motor neuron facial palsy, and CT of petrous bones confirms the presence of osteopetrotic petrous with slim mastoid portions of the facial nerve canals both sides. Brain magnetic resonance imaging showed CM1. Skeletal survey showed sclerotic skeleton. He needed ventriculoperitoneal shunt and died at 18 months of age. Molecular testing for OSTEM1 gene revealed novel homozygous mutation that segregated from his parents. This novel OSTEM1 gene novel mutation and the combination of OP, infantile CS, and CM1 is to our knowledge never been reported.

The main parts of the gas turbine engine are the compressor, combustor, turbine, and control unit... more The main parts of the gas turbine engine are the compressor, combustor, turbine, and control units. Sometimes the ground equipment gas turbine engine encounters a problem in the control unit that can badly affect the engine's performance at different operating regimes. Consequently, a drastic decrease in engine lifetime and reliability is noticed. The main affecting parameters are the air control system, combustion, and compression systems of the gas turbine engine. Therefore, the airflow control system is one of the important parameters that affect the gas turbine engine's dynamic performance. So, the dynamic performance of the engine air control system has to be investigated. Controlling the dynamic performance of the engine air control system relies; heavily on electrohydraulic systems. Among the most common and challenging problems with electro-hydraulic control systems is investigating the effect of changing the design geometry, including shapes, of their components. This paper presented a spool in an Electro-Hydraulic Servo Valve (EHSV) in a turboshaft engine as an example. A detailed analysis of a fuel-based electrohydraulic position control device was presented here in this paper. To assess the implications of shape modifications on the dynamic performance of the system behavior, three distinct shapes for this spool were investigated. ANSYS FLUENT 19.2 was used for modeling and CFD study of the three shapes of the spool at four different openings. The outcomes were compared with each other. The results showed that using a three-step spool is a better design and selection than using one or two steps. There was a reduction in pressure resonance and a smoothing of the velocity of the fluid inside the valve. So, the dynamic performance of the valve will be improved by reducing the pressure resonance and reducing the jet of fluid flow at the valve inlet, vortices, and smoothness in the moving spool. Also, the performance of the IGV will be improved. As a result, the good dynamic performance of the gas turbine will be obtained.

FOPIα controller parameters and fractional factor mainly affect the controller performance, hence they should not be selected randomly. Particle swarm optimization technique (PSO) is used to tune these parameters. The proposed FOPIα controller has the merit of improving the field-oriented control (FOC) method of the sensorless FOC PMSM drive by proper design of the speed controller, current controllers and MRAS controller. The proposed methodology is tested using MATLAB Simulink simulation and the results validate perfect performance even at very low speed.

In this work, the conventional integer controllers of the vector control method are replaced with the Fractional Order PI (FOPIα) controllers. Particle Swarm Optimization technique (PSO) is employed to tune the gain, integration parameter and the fractional order parameter for each of the speed, current and MRAS controllers to get the optimum values. The presented methodology is tested using MATLAB Simulink simulation and the results show improved performance of the field oriented control technique by the employment of the fractional order controllers instead of the conventional integer at different operating points. Furthermore, the additional degree of freedom in the fractional controllers helps the PSO technique to get the optimum cost at a very low number of iterations compared with that of the integer one.

The synthesized nanocomposites exhibited high adsorption capacity for removing cationic dyes as malachite green dye MG and methylene blue dye MB reaching 156, and 105 mg/g at 30 °C, respectively. The high surface area of the prepared adsorbent, 95 m2/g, electrostatic interaction, and π-π interaction facilitated dyes removal on MnFe2O4/rGO. The physicochemical properties of the synthesized hybrid nanocomposite were investigated using FESEM, XRD, VSM, HRTEM, and N2-adsorption/desorption isotherms. The influence of contact time, adsorbent dose, initial dye concentration, pH, rate of agitation, and change in temperature were investigated. Various adsorption isotherms equations were applied to give a clear concept on the mechanism of the dye removal process and the results indicated that dyes removal followed both Freundlich and Langmuir models. Kinetics results pointed out that the removal fitted well to pseudo-second-order. The thermodynamic parameters showed that the removal process was endothermic and spontaneous. The synthesized adsorbent showed high stability after reuse for five cycles.

Ten sunflower genotypes were evaluated under drip irrigation using two treatments of irrigation (100 and 75% from water requirement of sunflower). Statistical analysis showed that there were significant differences among genotypes, as well as between irrigation treatments and the interaction between them. Results indicate that decreasing the amount of irrigation water from 1500 to 1130 (mm/ha) significantly reduced all studied traits. Mutation (M 2,1-63) surpassed all the other genotypes in seed yield and WUE. Lines which gave the highest yield of the seed have WUE under drought conditions higher than WUE under normal irrigation. The lowest depression in seed yield due to drought conditions compared to the seed yield under normal irrigation has been registered for Line 20, Line M 2,1-63, and Sakha 53 genotypes (11, 18, and 16%, respectively), but the highest depression recorded for Line 48, Line M 2,3-63, and Line M 2,4-63 (49, 46, and 43%, respectively). The genotypes (Line 20, Line M 2,1-63 and Sakha 53) are more tolerant to drought than others and we can used its in breeding program to develop sunflower hybrids suitable for cultivation under drought condition.

The aim of the present work was to evaluate physical acquisition parameters affecting the cardiac imaging to optimize the patient&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;#39;s examination time and image quality that are acquired with the gamma camera and workers radiation protection (through reducing time of radiation exposure) in cardiac SPECT facility. Cardiac functional parameters like ejection fraction (EF), end diastole volume (EDV), end systole volume (ESV) and total perfusion defect (TPD) were evaluated. Thirty patients were divided into three groups as follows: 1- Group (1): contains two sub-groups, one scanned with 8 frames per projection, the other with 16 frames per projection. 2- Group (2): contains two sub-groups, one scanned with 32 projections per scan, the other with 16 projections per scan. 3- Group (3): contains two sub-groups, one scanned at a time per projection of 20 s and the other scanned at 10 s per projection. Parameters such as the Ejection Fraction (EF), End Diastole Volume (EDV), End Systole Volume (ESV) and Total Perfusion Defect (TPD) in SPECT were compared for each group. There was insignificant difference in the EF, EDV, ESV and TPD between the different groups concerning the number of frames per projection, number of projections per scan and time per projection. The reduction of scan time to half or the number of projections per scan to half or increasing the number of frames per scan from 8 to 16 at the same duration has insignificant effect in the cardiac functional parameters used with gated SPECT scan.

For this, the association of six mosquito species (Culex pipiens, Cx. perexiguus, Cx. pusillus, Ochlerotatus caspius, Anopheles multicolor and Culiseta longiareolata) with the physical characteristics of their breeding habitats was examined in El-Muqattam and Abu-Seir; of the urban areas in Cairo Governorate. Based on the highest frequency of occurrence (P<0.05) of mosquito larvae comparable to each habitat character, the determinant factors for breeding of such species were concluded. Such factors were in El-Muqattam: small sites (<10m perimeter), stagnant and clear water, absence of predators (Gambusia affinis) and absence of aquatic vegetations. In Abu-Seir: large sites (>10m perimeter), mud bottoms, presence of aquatic vegetations and absence of predators. The study concluded that the environmental control measures based on modifying habitat characteristics can be effective in controlling targeted mosquito species specially those vectors of diseases.
