It is a type of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) model that consist of various tiny sensor nodes which are power by batteries and used routing algorithms to send a data packets from one node to other via the base station. But energy efficient and secure data transmission is an important factor for any WBAN-based Remotely Health Monitoring (RHM) system. So, in this research, we proposed a RHM system using reinforcement learning based intellectual and energy efficient transmission for WBAN model. An intellectual and energy efficient transmission in WBAN-based RHM system is based on the routing mechanism to support the network communication and find the best route that consumes minimal power because there is a limited power resource provide to each sensor nodes. The introduced reinforcement learning based intellectual and energy efficient transmission mechanism as a routing protocol diminish the involvement of abnormal nodes between end to end nodes in the network to increase the efficiency. At the last of paper, the comparison of proposed WBAN-based RHM system with existing work in presented in respects of Quality of Service (QoS) like throughput and power consumption and we noticed that the power consumption is reduced by 33.54% as compare to the existing work and the data transmission also becomes more fast and secure by detecting and mitigating the effect of fail nodes from the route in the WBAN model.

The total zinc content varied from 3.28 to 3.37%; the highest being in raw ricebeans and the lowest being in dehulled, soaked and pressure cooked, and sprouted and pressure cooked ricebeans, respectively. The soluble zinc content was highest for dehulled soaked and pressure cooked ricebeans (28.2%) and lowest for raw ricebeans (16.0%). The absorption, retention, and balance of zinc were estimated in rats fed experimental and standard ZnSO 4 diets using a balance study. The maximum retention of zinc was observed in dehulled soaked, and pressure cooked diets (63.37%) followed by sprouted (48 h) and pressure cooked (61.38%) diets. The gain in body weight, total femur zinc and retention of zinc in liver, kidneys and spleen were found to be highest for rats eating the sprouted pressure cooked diet followed by the dehulled, soaked and pressure cooked diet. Plasma zinc levels were found to range from 3.81 to 6.34 µmol/dl; they were maximum for rats fed the dehulled, soaked and pressure cooked diet. It can be concluded that dehulling significantly improves the availability of zinc and germination of ricebeans is the best method to enhance the zinc availability.

Since the use of fungal pathogens has been suggested as a most efficient biocontrol method, a survey was conducted in 2012-2014 in the Haryana state (India), during which dark brown to black marginal spots were observed on parthenium leaves. These lesions were initially round pinpoints that enlarged and coalesced causing a premature defoliation. From symptomatic leaves collected from different areas, surface-sterilized in 70% ethanol and placed on PDA, a fungus was isolated showing an initially whitish brown aerial mycelium that turned orange- brown to purple black (Aneja et al., 2000). Conidiophores were brown, straight to geniculate (160 x 5.0-9.3 μm), bearing obclavate, rostrate, pale to golden brown 71-103×16.4-23.6 μm conidia, smooth to minutely verruculose, with 5-9 transverse but no longitudinal septa, singly or in chains of two. The conidial beak (50-172 x 1.4-3.1 μm) was hyaline, filiform, septate, straight to geniculate, sometimes swollen at the apex, often much longer than the spore body. Based on these characteristics, the fungus was identified as Trichoconiella padwickii (Ellis, 1971), as confirmed by the International Mycological Institute (IMI accession no. 502783). Pathogenicity was proven by placing seven-day-old mycelial plugs (5 mm) on detached parthenium leaves that reacted with spots from which T. padwickii was re-isolated. The ITS rDNA sequence analysed using the FASTA algorithm shared 100% nucleotide similarity to six unpublished ITS sequences from Alternaria padwickii (current name T. padwickii). This pathogen has previously been reported on rice, millet, sorghum, eucalyptus and various grasses but, to our knowledge, this is the first report on P. hysterophorus.

DNA vaccination based on optimized formulation of lysosome-targeted glycoprotein of the rabies virus provides potential platform for preventing and controlling rabies. As per the pre-clinical requirements, listed in guidelines of Schedule Y, FDA and that of The European Agency for evaluation of Medicinal Products; we evaluated the acute (single dose-14 days) using three dosing levels, that is, the therapeutic (1Â), average (5Â) and high dose (10Â) intramuscular toxicity in the rodent model Swiss Albino mice. Furthermore, the chronic intramuscular toxicity (repeated dose-43 days with another 14 days for satellite groups) was investigated using broad dosing levels ranging from low (7Â), mid (14Â) to high (28Â) in Wistar rats. A range of parameters including physical, physiological, clinical, immunological, hematological along with histopathology profiles of target organs was monitored to assess the impact of vaccination. There were no observational adverse effects despite high dose administration of the DNA vaccine formulation. Thus, this study indicates the safety of next generation of vaccines as well as highlights their potential application.

In order to do this, we are using a video display monitor in stereo mode and a Datacube MV-200 image processing hardware system to display images at rates approximately twice as fast as would otherwise be possible. We propose to use this system to assess the elderly diver's ability to locate and distinguish computer generated images of vehicles and to determine their direction of motion in a variety of simulated conditions.

(family: Araceae) by affinity chromatography on asialofetuin-linked amino activated silica beads. The bound lectins were eluted with 0.1 M glycine-HCl, pH 2.5. They gave a single band corresponding to subunit M(r) 13.4 kDa in SDS-PAGE, pH 8.3. On gel filtration chromatography, the lectins showed a M(r) of 51.2 kDa, suggesting a homotetrameric structure. Both the lectins gave a single peak on size exclusion HPLC and cation-exchange columns and a single band on PAGE, pH 4.5. However, like other monocot lectins, they gave multiple bands in isoelectric focusing and at PAGE 8.3. The lectins were inhibited by N-acetyl-D-lactosamine (LacNAc), a disaccharide and asialofetuin, a complex desialylated serum glycoprotein. They had no requirement for divalent metal ions i.e., Ca2+ and Mn2+ for their activity and were found to be mitogenic towards human lymphocytes. A. intermedium showed antip...

Bisphenol A (BPA), an estrogenic environmental contaminant is also known for oxidative stress-ind... more Bisphenol A (BPA), an estrogenic environmental contaminant is also known for oxidative stress-inducing effect. Malnutrition is recognized as a confounding factor in oxidative stress. However, little is known about effect of malnutrition on oxidative stress induced by BPA or other endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs). We studied effect of malnutrition (iron deficiency) in rats chronically exposed to low levels of BPA taking into consideration the oxidative stress and antioxidant status in liver, kidney and gonads. Iron deficiency significantly elevated level of lipid peroxidation in BPA-exposed rats. Similarly, decrease in reduced glutathione level was more significant in rats maintained on iron deficient diet compared to those maintained on normal diet. Iron deficiency also significantly modulated activities of vital antioxidant enzymes in all the tissues. Female rats showed more vulnerability than males to iron-deficiency modulated effects of BPA on the above parameters. This study demonstrated that malnutrition, especially iron deficiency, might act as a confounding factor in EDC-induced oxidative stress. However, more studies may be needed to confirm effect of nutritional factors on estrogenic activity of BPA or other EDCs.

The frequencies were computed at various density functional theoretical levels using Gaussian09 software package. The data obtained from theoretical calculations were used to assign vibrational bands obtained in infrared and Raman spectra of the studied molecule. Potential energy distribution of the normal modes of vibrations were done using GAR2PED program. The geometrical parameters of the title compound are in agreement with XRD crystal structure data. The first hyperpolarizability is comparable with the reported values of similar derivatives and is an attractive object for future studies of non linear optics. The stability of the molecule arising from hyper-conjugative interaction and charge delocalization has been analyzed using NBO analysis. According to XRD data, the dihedral angles between the mean planes of the two benzene rings is 44.7° and the crystal packing is stabilized by weak intermolecular π-π stacking interactions.

Methods: Sixty pediatric patients belonging to the american Society of anesthesiologists class i and ii between the age group of 2-12 years scheduled for elective surgery were randomly allocated to receive either oral midazolam (group i) 30 min before induction or oral clonidine (group ii) 90 min before induction of anesthesia. the children were evaluated for levels of sedation and anxiety at the time of separation from the parents, venepuncture, and at the time of mask application for induction of anesthesia. Results: after premedication, the percentage of children who were sedated and calm increased in both the groups. the overall level of sedation was better in the children in the clonidine group, but children in the midazolam group had a greater degree of anxiolysis at times of venepuncture and mask application. In addition, midazolam did not cause significant changes in hemodynamics unlike clonidine where a significant fall in blood pressure was noted, after premedication, but preinduction. Conclusion: We conclude that under the conditions of the study, oral midazolam is superior to clonidine as an anxiolytic in pediatric population. Clonidine with its sedative action especially at the time of separation from parents along with its other perioperative benefits cannot be discounted.

Vaccination is the most effective prophylactic measure available against anthrax. Currently available anthrax vaccines have issues of the multiple booster dose requirement, adjuvant-associated side effects and stability. Use of biocompatible and biodegradable nanoparticles to deliver the antigens to immune cells could solve the issues associated with anthrax vaccines. We hypothesized that the delivery of a stable immunogenic domain 4 of protective antigen (PAD4) of Bacillus anthracis encapsulated in a poly (lactideco-glycolide) (PLGA)-an FDA approved biocompatible and biodegradable material, may alleviate the problems of booster dose, adjuvant toxicity and stability associated with anthrax vaccines. We made a PLGA based protective antigen domain 4 nanoparticle (PAD4-NP) formulation using water/oil/water solvent evaporation method. Nanoparticles were characterized for antigen content, morphology, size, polydispersity and zeta potential. The immune correlates and protective efficacy of the nanoparticle formulation was evaluated in Swiss Webster outbred mice. Mice were immunized with single dose of PAD4-NP or recombinant PAD4. The PAD4-NP elicited a robust IgG response with mixed IgG1 and IgG2a subtypes, whereas the control PAD4 immunized mice elicited low IgG response with predominant IgG1 subtype. The PAD4-NP generated mixed Th1/Th2 response, whereas PAD4 elicited predominantly Th2 response. When we compared the efficacy of this single-dose vaccine nanoformulation PAD4-NP with that of the recombinant PAD4 in providing protective immunity against a lethal challenge with Bacillus anthracis spores, the median survival of PAD4-NP immunized mice was 6 days as compared to 1 day for PAD4 immunized mice (p,0.001). Thus, we demonstrate, for the first time, the possibility of the development of a single-dose and adjuvant-free protective antigen based anthrax vaccine in the form of PAD4-NP. Further work in this direction may produce a better and safer candidate anthrax vaccine.

The processing methods used were (1) soaking and pressure cooking, (2) sprouting (48 h) and pressure cooking, (3) roasting, (4) dehulling and (5) pressure cooking of dehulled legume. Raw and cooked samples were analysed for proximate composition and antinutritional factors. The total iron content varied from 74.9 to 83.4 mg kg Ϫ1 ; being highest in whole raw ricebean and lowest in dehulled, soaked pressure cooked ricebean. The ionizable iron content, expressed as per cent of total iron was maximum for sprouted and pressure cooked ricebean (20.9%) and lowest for whole raw ricebean (15.8%). The iron absorption was 10.4 Ϯ 0.02 for sprouted and pressure cooked ricebean followed by 10.0 Ϯ 0.01 absorption for dehulled, soaked and pressure cooked ricebean. The bioavailability of iron for haemoglobin regeneration relative to FeSO 4 was highest for dehulled, soaked and pressure cooked ricebean (54.6%) followed by soaked and pressure cooked whole ricebean (47.5%). The results indicate that dehulling and cooking of ricebean significantly reduces the content of antinutritional factors in ricebean resulting in improvement in dietary bioavailability of iron.

In the current work, 75 pct chromium carbide-25 pct (nickel-20 pct chromium) [Cr 3 C 2-NiCr] coating was deposited on ASTM SA213-T22 boiler steel using the HVOF thermal spray process. Hightemperature oxidation, hot corrosion, and erosion-corrosion behavior of the coated and bare steel was evaluated in the air, molten salt [Na 2 SO 4-82 pct Fe 2 (SO 4) 3 ], and actual boiler environments under cyclic conditions. Weight-change measurements were taken at the end of each cycle. Efforts were made to formulate the kinetics of the oxidation, corrosion, and erosioncorrosion. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM)/energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) techniques were used to analyze the oxidation products. The coating was found to be intact and spallation free in all the environments of the study in general, whereas the bare steel suffered extensive spallation and a relatively higher rate of degradation. The coating was found to be useful to enhance the high-temperature resistance of the steel in all the three environments in this study.

After dehydration at 200 °C, the anhydrous complex undergoes oxidative decomposition to yield -Fe2O3 and ZnO at 350 °C. Subsequently, the cations remix to yield fine particles of zinc ferrite, ZnFe2O4 as a result

Carinal rents, although rare, if not timely managed can be catastrophic. We describe a patient with carinal rent being managed successfully by prompt diagnosis, use of low pressure ventilation, and bronchoscopic sealing using tissue glue.

High-velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) sprayed coatings have the potential to enhance the high-temperature... more High-velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) sprayed coatings have the potential to enhance the high-temperature oxidation, corrosion, and erosion-corrosion resistance of boiler steels.
