Resumo Os aglomerados industriais, caracterizados pela formação de APL (Arranjos Produtivos Locai... more Resumo Os aglomerados industriais, caracterizados pela formação de APL (Arranjos Produtivos Locais), têm apresentado significativo crescimento nas últimas décadas, especialmente no Brasil. A configuração desses APL se mostra uma alternativa de ação mercadológica e competitividade para muitas empresas, principalmente para as médias e pequenas empresas (MPE). Os APL diferenciam-se pelo aspecto de parceria, união e cooperação entre as empresas constituintes. Trata-se de uma maneira das organizações compartilharem conhecimentos, recursos, experiências e agregarem forças em prol do alcance de objetivos comuns. Além disso, se revestem de vital importância a participação e envolvimento dos Governos locais, por meio de políticas públicas e incentivos que visam fomentar o desenvolvimento econômico das regiões. Diante desse cenário, a região Sudoeste do Paraná se destaca por ser uma área geográfica promissora e competitiva no âmbito paranaense e nacional. Ao todo a região possui quatro APL (Tecnologia da Informação, Metal-Mecânica, Móveis e Confecções), congrega um relevante número de empresas e gera um elevado número de empregos. Assim, o objetivo do presente artigo é apresentar uma abordagem teórica sobre o assunto, bem como sobre políticas públicas, enfatizando a formação dos APL e sua importância para o desenvolvimento econômico regional. Adicionalmente, é contextualizado o panorama dos APL paranaenses, com destaque para a Região Sudoeste.

Este artigo traz os resultados parciais de um estudo que tem por objetivo apresentar uma proposta... more Este artigo traz os resultados parciais de um estudo que tem por objetivo apresentar uma proposta de um Processo de Implementação da Open Innovation (PIOI) para Pequenas e Médias Empresas (PME’s) de ambientes de Sistemas Regionais de Inovação (SRI’s). Este processo foi desenvolvido com base numa ampla revisão bibliográfica, a qual foi norteada sob dois elementos principais: Identificação dos Fatores Críticos de Sucesso (FCS); e Identificação de modelos e processos existentes de OI em outras pesquisas e estudos complementares da área. Assim, a estrutura geral do PIOI foi composta por três etapas principais: (i) Fundamentação teórica; (ii) Proposição Preliminar do PIOI; e (iii) Avaliação do PIOI. Goal: This article aims to diagnose the profile, strategies, and innovation practices adopted by ... more Goal: This article aims to diagnose the profile, strategies, and innovation practices adopted by the information technology companies of a Regional Innovation Systems (RIS). Design/ Methodology/ Approach: This study was carried out with 19 small and medium companies from a RIS in the state of Paraná, where we collect data relating to the infrastructure and investments in R&D, types of innovation projects, impact on revenue, activities of innovation, innovation protection methods, and information sources used by companies. Results: The results showed that: companies with higher investments in R&D, which generate innovative products and patents, have a higher financial return; the generation of patents is incipient among the companies surveyed; product process and organizational innovation are the main innovation activities carried out; there is some difficulty in establishing external partnerships for the development of innovation, especially with universities; customers, users, and the internet are the primary sources of information used by companies. Limitation of the investigation: With respect to research limitations, we point out that our research sample is limited to 19 companies. Thus, for the results to be generalized, a larger sample is recommended. Practical implications: The article showed that the launch of innovative products on the market has positive effects on the financial performance of companies due to increased sales. Originality / Value: This paper offers a contribution to contextual studies of innovation in RIS. In addition, it presents an innovation profile of the technology companies of an RIS. These results can be used to compare and evaluate the innovation evolution in technology companies with other sectors and other RIS, or provide an indicator for the development of innovation policies for a region.

In the literature of Open Innovation (OI), some specific themes, such as elaboration of methods, ... more In the literature of Open Innovation (OI), some specific themes, such as elaboration of methods, strategies and systematized processes of implementation are still little discussed. In attempted to fill this research gap, this study aims to present a proposal for a framework for the implementation of OI in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises of Regional Innovation Systems (RIS). As such, it can support the theoretical development related to OI implementation methods and tools. The constructivist method was used in the development of the framework, which represents the Implementation Process of OI (IPOI), consisting of 5 stages: (i) diagnosis of RIS; (ii) diagnosis of the enterprise; (iii) preparation; (iv) implementation; and (v) monitoring and control. The unfolding of this process in stages and measurement systems allows us to understand the elements and Critical Success Factors (CSF) that interfere in the improvement of the capacity of innovation in SMEs inserted in RIS.

Through a case study it was possible to deploy and analyse the value stream map of the company's overall processes. This map has assisted in identification of waste situations and in proposing improvements in the process. It is concluded that Lean concepts have been presented as promising in a graphic design company and are potentially applicable in creative companies.

Design/Metodologia/Abordagem: A pesquisa classifica-se como exploratória, descritiva e bibliográfica. Para o desenvolvimento adotou-se o método ProKnow-C (Knowledge Development Process – Constructivist), proposto por Ensslin et al. (2010). O portfólio bibliográfico foi construído a partir das fontes de dados Science Direct, Scopus e ISI Web of Science, e para a análise das publicações utilizaram-se as ferramentas EndNoteWeb e o software Sci2 Tool®. The task of packaging professionals is becoming more demanding, as they need to collect information from distinct topics to stay up to date. The aim of this research is to gather information on packaging in the sustainability context to provide a systemic view of the contents, to identify opportunities, and define guidelines for packaging design. A systematic literature review of 472 papers was performed. The first step was a bibliographic search using Pack *, Sustainab *, and eco * as keywords. Secondly, the content analysis revealed the emergence of nine categories grouped in four clusters. These categories and nineteen subthemes were considered research opportunities. A metodologia na primeira etapa consistiu em construir um novo questionário adaptando-se o original do Instituto Akatu para aplicação junto aos consumidores. Esse novo instrumento foi elaborado a partir da plataforma tecnológica Google Drive e constituiu de 13 perguntas que inferiram sobre o consumo sustentável. O Desdobramento da Função Qualidade (QFD - Quality Function Deployment) tem sido amplamente utili... more O Desdobramento da Função Qualidade (QFD - Quality Function Deployment) tem sido amplamente utilizado para a conversão das exigências/perspectivas dos clientes em especificações de produto, processo e serviços. Uma das restrições para atender a essas exigências ocorre quando o sistema produtivo não dispõe da capacidade necessária para a implementação dessas melhorias. Na abordagem tradicional, a priorização das exigências/perspectivas e a previsão de demanda são analisadas de forma independente. Este artigo apresenta o desdobramento detalhado das matrizes do QFD e as integra a modelos de previsão de demanda para o aprimoramento de um produto do setor alimentício. Visa-se incorporar ao produto modificações baseadas nas exigências do consumidor e promover ajustes na capacidade produtiva frente à demanda projetada. Como resultado prático, gerou-se um plano de melhoria dos procedimentos e recursos necessários à implementação das demandas priorizadas.

The solidification of the cocoa liquor is one of the most important steps for processing cocoa cu... more The solidification of the cocoa liquor is one of the most important steps for processing cocoa cultivars. This process is typically characterized as a continuous process, which may become a barrier for the randomization of the applied data treatments. This article aims at optimizing the factors that influence the processing of cocoa cultivars during solidification of liquor. Based on this, it was proposed, as a design of experiment (DOE), a three level factorial plan (23) with three repeated measurements. Treatments were organized in random blocks with divided-cells (split-plot). The experiment presents the best combinations between the factors 'pump flow' and 'conveyor speed' for each kind of cocoa liquor. The application of this kind of design of experiments in other cases may contribute to optimizing processes with long set up times, such as the ones existent in the food processing industry.

This study deals with the challenge of implementing an Open Innovation strategy in Regional Innov... more This study deals with the challenge of implementing an Open Innovation strategy in Regional Innovation Systems. In this context, our research question is: can a Regional Innovation Systems be a favorable environment for Open Innovation implementation? To address this question, the main objective of this paper was to identify and analyze the determinant factors for a successful implementation of Open Innovation in Regional Innovation Systems. The factors were empirically tested through qualitative research involving seven of the key actors in a Regional Innovation Systems in the Paraná state, in southern Brazil. The results suggest that some of the determinants factors and conditions for Open Innovation implementation are: proximity and close relationship with Higher Education Institutions; existence of a governance system to intermediate relationships with knowledge actors outside the regional system; mechanisms of relationship network and knowledge absorptive capacity by the firms constituting the Regional Innovation Systems; and provision of public support (e.g., incentives, funding, infrastructure). Since these determinants are present in the Regional Innovation Systems in question, we conclude that the Regional Innovation Systems offers a favorable environment to Open Innovation implementation. Additionally, we highlight a number of contributions and implications for academics, practitioners and those interested in Regional Innovation Systems governance.

Existem diferentes fatores que afetam a transferência de conhecimentos (TC) entre equipes de proj... more Existem diferentes fatores que afetam a transferência de conhecimentos (TC) entre equipes de projetos de produtos. Esses fatores são denominados barreiras de TC, pois atuam como obstáculos no processo de aprendizado entre as equipes. Vários tipos de barreiras são citadas na literatura, mas as mesmas são apresentadas de maneira dispersa em diferentes trabalhos. Por conseguinte, este artigo tem por objetivo apresentar um levantamento bibliográfico das principais barreiras de TC entre as equipes de projetos de desenvolvimento de produtos. Por meio de uma pesquisa bibliográfica e uma análise de conteúdo, identificaram-se 5 categorias de barreiras de TC, compostas por 32 barreiras específicas. As 5 categorias são: (i) barreiras temporais; (ii) físicas; (iii) comportamentais; (iv) organizacionais e (v) operacionais.
