Część badawcza dotyczy opisu początku i rozwoju niezależnych dyplomacji obu tych młodych krajów. Kolejno omawiane jest tworzenie i wdrażania obu programów brandingowych, a następnie, poprzez analizę treści najważniejszych światowych gazet codziennych, zostaje podjęta próba opisania medialnego wizerunku Słowacji i Słowenii z perspektywy międzynarodowej.

This relationship should be positive, since the theory (Putnam – Leonardi – Nanetti 1993) suggests that high levels of social capital cause greater effectiveness of state in given area. Despite this, we have found negative correlation between the variables, contrary to our hypothesis. That is unexpected, yet interesting outcome. The cause for this may be intervening factors in this relationship, most notably the different size of researched municipalities and very recent municipal elections. To rule out methodological causes, we intend to repeat the research with new data using more cases and more kinds of data to measure both variables.

It also notices the possible differences between the answers of students in gymnasia and in professional high schools. It offers insight into attitudes of future voters in respect to currently very relevant questions of nationalism, tolerance and authoritarianism. Method:Our research used questionnaire with 15 closed-ended questions as a technique of data gathering. It enabled us the initial insight into the researched attitudes of young people and the possible influencing factors. In this phase of the research we did not set hypotheses although we did have interest in the influence of education and the relation to the authoritarian attitudes. Results: We found strong attitudes against Roma and immigrants, relatively high but not prevailing attitudes in favor of authoritarianism and Slo...

Research conducted in recent years by third sector anti-corruption foundations or professional opinion research agencies suggests areas where the public perceives greater or lesser transparency. In the last decade, this significantly included the judiciary, healthcare, political parties, education and distrust grew e.g. also against the media. On the contrary, a relatively high level of trust was maintained by representatives of local governments - municipalities and cities. Given that the perception of transparency is highly emotionally based and the public can make their judgment based on “what I have heard”, the subject of the article is transparency in the local government environment. With the support of the Operational Program Effective Public Administration and the Europ...

The general trend of increasing support for the strongly authoritarian populist parties in the EU and in Visegrad 4 countries in particular suggest that the far right parties should be successful. Is this the case or are the wining parties defined in some other way? Method: The position of each party on the libertarianauthoritarian axis is evaluated on the basis of secondary analysis of CHES 2014, CHES 2017 and 2019 EES studies. Ideological blocks of parties are subsequently compared in terms of their electoral success. Results: Libertarian parties suffered a crushing defeat and did not manage to challenge the ideological dominance of authoritarianism in Slovakia, established after the 2016 election. But this did not automatically translate into victory of the far right. Slovakia did not join its neighbors to the south and north in the Visegrad 4. Instead, parties, which were defined mainly by their strong populist appeal were the real winners. Society: The paper is trying to add to the research on the far right and of the authoritarian populism by noticing similarities between Slovak political trends and development in the advanced World. Limitations / further research: The article is using limited data resources, which in turn limited how much insight into political development it was able offer. It was for example not able to sufficiently explain why the voters chose socially conservative populist parties and why did the more liberal parties fail. It also had quite narrow focus on specific policy issue areas, and did not focus others such as foreign policy, which could be a subject of future research.
