OBJECTIVE: To investigate sociodemographic, health and work environment factors as possible predictors of being active in working life at ages 66 and 72. Secondly, investigate eventual changes over time, shortly after a major reform in the Swedish pension system, and predictors of still being active in working life at age 66. METHODS: We used a longitudinal design with two separate cohorts of people at age 60. One baseline assessment was made in 2001–2003 with two 6 years follow-ups, and one in 200–2009 with one 6 years follow-up. Data were accessed through a Swedish national population-based study and analysed using logistic regression. To examine possible differences between the two cohorts, interaction terms with each independent variable were analysed. RESULTS: Being a man and working in a profession that requires at least three years of university education predict...

Methods, the study had a descriptive and interpretive design with a hermeneutic phenomenological method inspired by Van Manen. Data collection was done by semi structured interviews, seven patients participated in the study. Data analysis was performed in several steps: holistic approach, detailed approach and selective approach. Results, the analysis resulted in five main themes with associated fourteen sub themes: Interpersonal relationship, Democratic atmosphere, Communication and Hope. Hope emerged as a natural and underlying aspect that also permeated in all the other themes. The overall interpretation of the phenomenon led to the concept of coexistence, that was the overarching and common in all the themes. Coexistence also described the themes, dependent relationship with each other. The conclusion of this study was that the patients´ experience was that the care in the residential accommodation was caring. What made it to be caring was shown by the five main themes, how it manifested itself in expressions was described by the patients´ own stories and why the phenomenon appeared as it was, interpreted based on the concept of coexistence.

The aim of this study was to investigate the meaning of the caring relationship for adult patients in compulsory psychiatric treatment. The study was a literature review with qualitative and descriptive design. The search for scientific articles was done by the databases in Cinahl and PubMed with the keywords psychiatric care, caring relationship, coercion, and patient experiences. The selected articles were quality reviewed and then a content analysis of the manifest content was made which resulted in six categories: to feel disregarded loss of dignity, powerlessness, to be taken seriously, humanity and participation. Thereafter, an interpretation of the manifest content, i.e. a latent content analysis was made. Two themes were discerned: one-sidedness and mutuality. Patients described either that they experienced a distance from the health personal or that they responded to them on an equal plane. Since patients are in a dependent position in compulsory psychiatric treatment relationship becomes uneven (asymmetrical). A mutual caring relationship can be seen as a moral standard that paves the way for the establishment of a community.

A cross-sectional design including 101 students who were asked to participate and answer a survey. We describe the development of the pedagogic module Students Active Learning via Internet Observations based on situated learning. The findings show that learning about service users' own lived experiences via web-based platforms was instructive according to the students: 81% agreed to a high or very high degree. Another important finding was that 96% of students responded that the module had clinical relevance for nursing work. We argue that learning that engages students with data that are contextually and culturally situated is important for developing competence in caregiving.
