The current paper presents the creation of the methodological basis (procedure, used forms, the D... more The current paper presents the creation of the methodological basis (procedure, used forms, the DAMIC model, risk matrix) for undertaking a FMEA analysis for a coordinate measurement process. In the first step information was collected regarding errors that might occur in the measurement process, their effects as well as error prevention and detection methods. The paper also includes the improvement measures undertaken, their implementation, the risk index reevaluation method and the communication of obtained results.

The field of extracting 3D information from photographs also known as photogrammetry has a wide r... more The field of extracting 3D information from photographs also known as photogrammetry has a wide range of applications, even in industry. It can be used to rapidly prototype a part with a decent precision. This paper analyses this possibility for a gas regulator that was cut in half. From the pictures taken of the part, a point-cloud can be generated that can be transformed in a mesh and subsequently in a CAD model. Alternatively, it can be compared with an existing CAD model to determine deviations.

In this revolution one important aspect is that of quality. This paper makes a comparative study between tactile and optical measuring machines in the context of Industry 4.0. As the manufacturing industry must be more flexible and solve problems in a timelier manner, it is important to identify the right technologies appropriate for quality control.

The platform has also an eLearning component that teaches the students the steps of patenting an innovative idea. The platform offers support for gathering and preserving experience for research teams. This experience is benefic mainly for new researchers and PhD students.
