The part of these women go through the natural process of recovery and they are able to abstain even without the professional help. One of the greatest challenges facing people in recovery from substance addiction is making and sustaining new friendships that are outside of the supportive recovery networks. Engaging with adult education can create opportunities to meet new people and establish new friendships. According to the authors, these personal attributes i.e. good education, sustained employment, and membership in a professional society along with the environmental and contextual conditions i.e. fear of disclosure and the capacity to build renewed structure in their lives, draw on non-using supportive networks and draw space between themselves and the ‘drug world’ constituted a set of formidable resources. These views point out the main factors that have a direct impact on their understanding of parenting. These factors are: the attachment bond, the socialisation of a child in a children's home and the reason for placing a child in a children's home. This paper provides the results of a survey that investigates the ideas of young adults from children's homes and families about parenting through the means of a quantitative method, with an emphasis on a comparison of these ideas.

It deals with the definition of violence, concepts and models of individual areas by summarising the research findings and the possibilities of methodological tools for measurement of significant factors of violence against women. Aim. The primary goal of the research is to define significant factors which determine violence against women. Material and Methods. Methods of research-survey, document analysis and database statistical analysis. Results. Primary results of quantitative research reveal that women of all ages and educational groups are at risk. Mostly women aged 26-45, living in rural areas with middle school education without maturity exam (final exam). Violence in families involves men of all age groups with emphasis on increased incidence in specific categories: mostly men aged 36-45, living in rural areas with secondary (high school or comprehensive school) education. Another field of interest represents analysis of negative family situations, impact of violence against woman on her psychological conditions, and reasons why victims carry on marriage and/or partnership. Conclusions. It can be concluded that the most frequent negative phenomena during aggressor's and/or victim's childhood were physical violence of father against mother, alcohol-possibly father's alcoholism, poverty, physical punishment of children, and patriarchal model of the family. Two thirds of victims continue marriage/partnership in order to maintain the family, to keep the father for children, and for financial reasons. There is a frequent social criminality in poor biological families of aggressors, i.e., a commission of crime because of lack of finances.

According to Cloud and Granfield ‘such attributes and conditions can be seen as resources, or forms of capital, that increase an individual’s capacity to recover. We refer to the aggregate of such capital as ‘’recovery capital’’. The aim of this research is to find out the important fields that are significant for the recovery process of the women overusing alcohol. The research has been realized in qualitative design. The case study has been chosen as a research strategy. To collect data, the method of semi-structured interview has been used and we initiated the interviews using the life curve technique. To compare the study sample, the measure of addiciton of individual participants has been detected retrospectively via the AUDIT testing. The narrative analysis has been used in the phase of data processing and assessment. There have been identified 5 thematic areas through the interview analysis that are related to the recovery process: support of the social environment, personal participaton in the recovery, the change of the state of health, professional treatment and the activity. Each thematic area contains another subthemes. The aim of the research has been fulfilled.

According to the World Health Statistics, around 700.000 young people die by suicide each year. The causes encompass both psychosocial pressures and mental health issues that are made worse by many variables such as financial limitations, poor family relationships, peer bullying and victimization, and any forms of sexual abuse. Strategies at all societal levels are necessary to prevent suicide. This covers preventative measures and safeguards for people, families, and communities. A multidisciplinary strategy is known for taking a comprehensive approach to suicide prevention, bringing together various stakeholders, and is based on their existing contexts and resources. With an emphasis on preventing adolescent suicide in educational settings in Slovakia, this study aimed to examine the professionals’ perspectives on the practical implications of the multidisciplinary team's work. The research involved a semi-structured interview of five (5) professionals working in the area of prevention in Slovakia. The results revealed a generally positive image of the collaborative effort of various professionals in the prevention area. However, it has been noted that there is still potential for development, particularly in terms of a better cooperation among specialists, state recognition of the problem of youth suicide, and collaborative efforts to reduce suicidal risks.

This paper addresses the results of the qualitative research component. Grounded theory approach was used, taking into account some of the ideas of symbolic interactionism, which, in relation to the studied area, appeared to be the most adequate method. An in-depth semi-structured interview had prepared only a basic content framework, so that the open questions allowed the free formulation of answers. The research participants were the members of a family of an alcoholic person, i.e. the parents, siblings and partner. One of the outcomes of the research was the creation of a process model for codependency, focusing on the experience and behaviour of codependents. Some of the facts that may be helpful for the intervention by a social worker, with dependent family members within their cultural context, are pointed out. In the axial coding, the following categories were determined: codependency; causal conditions of the development of codependency; context (i.e. the particular set of characteristics in which it operates); the strategies of behaviour and interactions by which codependency is managed or controlled; the consequences of these strategies. The outcomes of the research are defined by the phases of codependency, namely: denial, anger, rescuing, sadness, hatred and reconciliation, invented by CITE SOURCE.

Elements of attachment theory have been embraced by the practitioners endeavoring to assist foster andadopted children and their parents. The E.M.B.U questionnaire is used as a methodological tool that assesses perceived parentalrearing style, comprising 3 sub scales (Emotional Warmth, Rejection, Over-protection). The survey sample consisted of the total of 110 respondents; 35,5% of the respondents from a complete nuclear family, 18,2 % of the respondents being raised in a single-parent family and 46,2 % of the respondents who have grown up in a children´s home. The primary results show that the respondents from the complete families perceive the mother and father as emotionally warm-hearted, less rejecting and overprotective.
