Teluk Weda merupakan Teluk yang luas di Kabupaten Halmahera Tengah dengan kondisi sumberdaya alam... more Teluk Weda merupakan Teluk yang luas di Kabupaten Halmahera Tengah dengan kondisi sumberdaya alam yang melimpah sehingga diperlukan penelitian untuk mengetahui daya dukung lingkungan guna menjaga kelestarian sumberdaya alam tersebut. Adapun daya dukung didefinisikan sebagai intensitas penggunaan maksimum terhadap sumberdaya alam yang berlangsung secara terus menerus tanpa merusak alam. Daya dukung lingkungan (kapasitas asimilasi) adalah satu hak milik dari lingkungan dan kemampuan untuk mengakomodasi satu aktivitas tertentu tanpa mengakibatkan dampak yang tidak dapat diterima. Kapasitas asimilasi nitrit di Teluk Weda menghasilkan nilai kapasitas asimilasi sebesar 1,66 ton/tahun, sementara beban nitrit yang masuk ke perairan rata-rata sebesar 152,49 ton/tahun. Selanjutnya kapasitas asimilasi nitrat di Teluk Weda menghasilkan nilai kapasitas asimilasi sebesar 48,79 ton/tahun, sementara beban nitrat yang masuk ke perairan rata-rata sebesar 44.357,84 ton/tahun. Based on information from fishermen and fish entrepreneurs, about 95.5% of the catch landed in th... more Based on information from fishermen and fish entrepreneurs, about 95.5% of the catch landed in the Bacan fishing port is stored in the air blast freezer (ABF) which is targeted for regional and exportsmarkets, while the remaining 4.5% is sold locally. The actual condition shows that the ABF has limited capacity. Furthermore, the need for ice blocks and diesel fuel (BBM) cannot be full filed as the ice factory and fuel station (SPDN) inside the port was not able to meet the current demand. As a result, fishermen have to buy from outside fishing port .In order to improve the port service, development program supported by scientific investigation on existing port performance is required. The purpose of this service is to provide knowledge about the benefits of tuna and improve the skills of partners in processing siomay with various flavors so that they can increase their income. The method used in this activity is socialization and demonstration. The participation of the participants the very good to that the activity ran smoothly. With this activity, the partners understand more about the health benefits of tuna and increase their skills in processing siomay with various flavors. Furthermore, his skills can to applied to a small-scale business.

Good handling and processing will produce high quality anchovy. The research objectives were: To determine the quality of anchovy by microorganism and organoleptic tests. The research benefit is to obtain the quality of anchovy which is expected to have an economic effect on fishermen. This study used an exploratory method with direct sampling techniques on the results of catching anchovies on the boat chart fishing gear in Toniku, West Halmahera. The purpose of this study was to identify the species of garfish in the waters of north Maluku by... more The purpose of this study was to identify the species of garfish in the waters of north Maluku by applying DNA bar-coding techniques. The method used in the study was the primary design of DNA extraction and isolation, and DNA amplification through polymerase chain reaction. The results showed that Gen Cyt b analysis amplified ± 350 bp amplicon and for the alignment analysis showed that the amplification sample sequence had similarity with the Cyt b gene sequence of Hemiramphus balao with value of 97%. Sequence analysis showed that the six specimens had very low genetic distances. It can be concluded that the isolate samples of garfish have a very close kinship.

Hasil analisis Interpretative Structural Modeling (ISM) menyimpulkan bahwa kelembagaan pengelolaan yang perlu dipertimbangkan untuk mewujudkan pembangunan kawasan pesisir dan pulau-pulau kecil di Teluk Weda yang berkelanjutan adalah pemerintah, wisatawan, dan perguruan tinggi lewat pengembangan wisata. Water ecotourism as sustainable development is one of activity which can combine ecology and economic aspect. Based on this fact to development water ecotourism in Weda Bay, need to estimating suitablity area.
