The importance of education and its support personnel is best emphasized in Republic Act No. 9155... more The importance of education and its support personnel is best emphasized in Republic Act No. 9155, also known as the Governance of Basic Education Act of 2001, Chapter I Sec. 7, Letter E which explicitly mandates each public school or cluster of schools to have a school head who is expected to form a team with the schoolteachers/learning facilitators to deliver quality educational programs, projects, and services, as well as a core of non-teaching staff who handles the school’s administrative, fiscal, and auxiliary services.

School operation is a complex endeavor. The future of students and the future of the nation is on the line. It is not appropriate to merely guess what is the most effective leadership style to result to teachers’ competence. The best way is to conduct a study. With this in mind the researcher is taking on the task of learning more about school leadership style and teachers’ competence.
