This paper proposes a location evaluation method for computing the value of a location based on l... more This paper proposes a location evaluation method for computing the value of a location based on landscape-related factors formulated by municipal policy. It also presents the results of using IT terminals to observe the movement of people in the neighborhood of Senso-ji temple, Tokyo and evaluates the effectiveness of the proposed method and its usefulness in local-government planning.

This research deals with a new analytical and generative methodology for townscape renovation and the verification of the effectiveness of the subsidy program based on Design Code. By analyzing and visualizing the distribution of the groups of similar housing types with mathematical graphs, this study clearly shows the chronological changes of the urban fabrics and how to control them

The charrette workshop is defined as an intensive workshop by the professionals of urban and arch... more The charrette workshop is defined as an intensive workshop by the professionals of urban and architectural fi elds. It is well experimented in Europe and USA, where the professionals have various kind of social roles. The urban planning education sub-committee of the urban planning committee of Architectural Institute of Japan has started experimental charrette workshops by instructors and students since 2005, held in 4 districts in Japan. This paper introduces the outline of the workshop and investigates its educational effects to the students and its social effects to the district, and verifi es its potential as an urban design supportive method.

This study reports the attempt of implementing a permanent UBIQUITOUS system as an instrument for... more This study reports the attempt of implementing a permanent UBIQUITOUS system as an instrument for the citizen involvement process in urban planning, by inspecting the introduction of UBIQUITOUS technologies and repeating experimental studies, as part of the "OOYAMA-KAIDO" Action-Forum during a period of two years. In particular, the two UBIQUITOUS experiments verify the method for introducing UBIQUITOUS panel and a walking trail that uses GPS, and implements a permanent UBIQUITOUS system that connects social media which teaches the resources' information and the history of "OOYAMA-KAIDO".
