Finding solutions to these problems and investigating them using reliable tools are crucial. This study aimed at translating and validating a Persian version of the Coping with Health Injuries and Problems (CHIP) scale in patients with MS. Materials and Methods: The CHIP questionnaire was completed by 206 patients with MS presenting to neurology clinics in Isfahan, Iran. Exploratory factor analysis, face and content validity and reliability were used to identify the factors in this population. Results: With an acceptable Cronbach's alpha of 0.69, the CHIP scale can be used to identify solutions to the problems of Iranian patients with MS and determine their treatment plan. The ndings can help provide client-centered rehabilitation for these patients based on their individual responses. The ve factors of the model comprised palliative coping, instrumental coping, task-oriented coping, detachment coping and cognitive avoidance coping. Saturation was reached with 26 items and 54% of the total variance was explained. Palliative coping and instrumental coping were available in the original tool, and this study identi ed task-oriented coping, detachment coping and cognitive avoidance coping. Discussion and Conclusion: This validation demonstrated the compatibility of the CHIP scale with the speci c characteristics of Iranian patients with MS. This instrument can be used by treatment and rehabilitation teams to identify methods for helping these patients cope with their disease. Improving the comprehension of coping strategies in these patients lays the foundations for designing speci c preventive interventions based on behavioral rehabilitation and therefore helps them adapt to their disease.

This study was conducted to localize a brief sex addiction screening instrument (PATHOS) for use in the Iranian population and to determine variables predictive of sex addiction in the general Iranian population. Methods In this study, we evaluated the psychometric properties of PATHOS in a sample of 443 Iranians in 2018. Data were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis (Factor 10.8.04 software). Simple and multiple linear regression analyses were used to investigate construct validity and variables predictive of addiction. Results Exploratory factor analysis identified two factors in this dichotomous questionnaire and reported the questionnaire’s test-retest reliability in the target population. Prognostic variables for sexual addiction in the Iranian population were determined to be female gender, higher education, viewing...

Objectives: The current study, conducted in 2012, aims to assess stress among forty-six Iranian mothers of ADHD children (Group 1) who were admitted to a psychiatric center in Tehran with forty-six Iranian mothers of normal children (Group 2) in 2012. Materials and Methods: The Child Symptom Inventory-4 (CSI-4), the child behavior checklist (CBCL) and the parental stress indexshort form (PSI/SF) were completed. Data was analyzed using the Levene test and the independent t-test in SPSS Version 18. Results: With the exception of mood, ADHD children had more problems in attention compared with normal children. As a result, mothers of ADHD children had more stress compared with the controls. Conclusions: ADHD can impair a mother's mental health by inducing stress. Specific diagnostic and treatment programs should be designed and tailored for the mothers of ADHD children in order to decrease stress.

This study was conducted to localize a brief sex addiction screening instrument (PATHOS) for use in the Iranian population and to determine variables predictive of sex addiction in the general Iranian population. Methods: In this study, we evaluated the psychometric properties of PATHOS in a sample of 443 Iranians in 2018. Data were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis (Factor 10.8.04 software). Simple and multiple linear regression analyses were used to investigate construct validity and variables predictive of addiction. Results: Exploratory factor analysis identified two factors in this dichotomous questionnaire and reported the questionnaire's test-retest reliability in the target population. Prognostic variables for sexual addiction in the Iranian population were determined to be female gender, higher education, ...

This secondary analysis examined 402 healthy postmenopausal Iranian women presenting to healthcare centers across Iran. Sampling method was convenience. The translation of the FSFI and its cross-cultural adaptation were conducted under the guidelines proposed by Beaton. The reliability (Cronbach's alpha coefficient and test-rest reliability) and construct validity (confirmatory factor analysis) were assessed. Model fitting index (such as the root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA), the goodness of fit index (GFI) and the Comparative Fit Index (CFI)) was calculated. The mean age of the study participants was 53.63±7.8 years. Test-retest reliability was high for both the entire scale (r=0.964; P<0.001) and its six dimensions (0.76-0.94; P<0.001). The Cronbach’s alpha of the entire scale and its...

Overall, 8% of participants reported no SD, 69% reported mild to moderate SD, and 23% reported severe SD upon admission. After completion of the MMT program, these results decreased to 61% and 20%, respectively. In comparison with admission, the mean IIEF-15 score showed moderate improvement from 16.77 ± 7.08 to 21.8 ± 6.40 (P = 0.003). The mean II...
