In this context, System-on-Chips with embedded low-power processors are useful tools to develop prototypes and solutions. Nevertheless, the limited resources of these systems create a limit on the speed and quality of the gathered information. A possible alternative for this problem is to increase the number of embedded computers composing the system, distributing the workload between different nodes. In this study, we analyze the effect of increased distribution on the main wearable constraints using a prototype. In order to investigate the energetic impact of increased distribution, we perform a long-run test. Also, we propose a novel testbed based on the Quality-of-Service (QoS) concepts and use it to analyze the effect of this increased distribution in communication and synchronization performance.

The majority of previous studies that approach shape reconstruction work with parametric curves, lacking generality when treating leaves with different shapes. Other appliances try to calculate the damage without estimating the original leaf form. In this work, we propose a procedure to predict the original leaf shape and calculate its defoliation based on a Conditional Generative Adversarial Network (Conditional GAN). We trained and validated the algorithm with a dataset with leaf images from 33 different species. Also, we tested the produced model in another dataset, containing images from leaves from 153 different species. The results indicate that this model is better than the literature, and the solution potentially works with different leaf shapes, even from untrained species.

These modern industrial plants must consider concepts like the Internet of Things, Cyber-Physical Systems and Smart Devices. The main features involved in these architectures are the local control, machine-to-machine information exchange, and human-to-machine interface through virtualization. The integration of these elements to create a connected environment presents a challenge to developers and engineers. In this text, we perform a theoretical analysis of the main constraints and challenges in designing and implementing novel applications using digital twins, robots, wearable devices, and other control interfaces. To evaluate the theoretical approach, we performed a series of tests in prototype environments.

However, there are few EDA tools for CGRA. We develop hardware-based placement and routing (P&R) for fully-pipelined CGRA mapped as an FPGA overlay. The key idea is to use the available FPGA resources to replicate several mapping units, thus exploring parallel execution, area/execution time trade-offs, and achieving near-optimal mapping solutions. Furthermore, our P&R provides portability and an incremental run-time approach. In comparison to VPR and CGRA-ME tools and a time-multiplexer approach, our spatial mapping reduces the P&R execution time, and it improves the performance up to hundreds of Gops/s by using fully-pipelined architectures.

This gives the users a more efficient way to hear the sound of televisions in places where the volume of noise is high. The solution, named "s_TV" comprises two modules: the transmitter and the receiver. The transmitter module is composed by equipment to capture and transmit sound from the TV to smartphones/tablets Android. This equipment is connected to the TV and a router and transmits the sound through a network to Android devices. It can also transmit other types of information, such as the TV settings. An application was also developed to allow the configuration and handling of the servers that emit the sound of televisions. The receiver module resulted in a mobile application that allows the user to choose in a very simple and intuitive way, a particular TV channel and, subsequently, receive and play the sound on the mobile device, in real time. In addition, other features are available such as recording the sound played and sharing it on social networks. The tests conducted indicate that the solution may also be used in real-world scenarios with a scalable number of users, without compromising the services available on existing Wi-Fi networks.

The main bands observed for DetaCel by Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) were attributed to CN deformation (1330 cm) and NH stretching of amide (3400 cm), while Solid State Nuclear Magnetic Resonance of C (C{H}CP-MAS NMR) showed a signal at 164.6 ppm characteristic of amide group. Crystallinity index obtained by X-ray Diffraction (XRD) was the order Cel > PhCel > DetaCel and the Thermogravimetry (TG) indicated reverse order obtained in XRD. Adsorbent matrices were employed to remove methyl orange (MO) and eosin (EY) dyes in aqueous medium. Data obtained experimentally from kinetic study had a better...

Basilisk with swine wastewater as a fertilizer. The experiment was conducted into a greenhouse in Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Southeast of Minas Gerais, Rio Pomba Campus. Pots with 6 dm-3 volumes were used as experimental units. Were used a randomized block design with four replications. Were studied four swine waste doses (0, 225, 450 and 675mL pot-1) over four regrowth cycles. The dry matter production of the aerial part, forage accumulation rate, crude protein and dry matter production of roots increased with the highest swine waste doses being around 670, 742, 160 and 465% respectively from lower to higher dose. There was interaction between swine waste and regrowth cycles for plant height and tillering, and in all regrowth cycles responded positively with increasing swine waste doses. Applying swine waste on pastures is therefore a viable...
