The COVID 19 pandemic and the imposition of social isolation alongside uncertainties regarding th... more The COVID 19 pandemic and the imposition of social isolation alongside uncertainties regarding the future has jeopardized not only the physical health but also the mental one on several individuals, which may seek-overly so-refuge on the internet and becoming depend on it (Ornell, Schuch, Sordi & kessler, 2020). In account of that phenomenon, this article aimed to demonstrate how the positive psychology-approach which goes beyond the mere cure by including factors such as live satisfaction and subjective wellbeing (Machado et al., 2017)-may work with the symptoms of internet addiction (IA). With this goal in mind, the main objective was to identify, throughout a systematic review, the contributions of positive psychology in the control of internet addiction. Such selection of materials resulted in 22 scientific articles and one master's theses trough which it was able to detail the may concepts of positive psychology regarding social wellbeing such as live satisfaction, control, realization, etc. (Marques, Balreira & Temótio, 2018). Furthermore, it was explained the etiology of internet addiction and nomophobia-fear of being disconnected (Greenfield, 2011)-and its risks and protection factors. Finally, it was made a analysis of how the concepts and techniques of positive psychology may adapt to IA against the limitations of the pandemic, with possible therapeutic plans being described. Therefore, the main objective was achieved, due the identification of the contributions of positive psychology to the IA during the pandemic.
