From the spring of 2004 to the spring of 201 0, the UBC Museum of Anthropology underwent a major ... more From the spring of 2004 to the spring of 201 0, the UBC Museum of Anthropology underwent a major expansion and renovation project, which included updating its collections infrastructure. This article discusses the Collections Research Enhancement aspects of the project, with specific reference to: object tracking, packing, mount making, object storage, and object access. The project resulted in increased ac cess for researchers and community members both at the museum and virtually. In the spring of 2004, The UBC Museum of Anthropology (MOA) embarked on a major renewal initiative to enhance physical, visual and virtual access to its col lections in order to better facilitate ongoing research. The multi-faceted Museum Renewal Project (MRP), entitled A Partnership of Peoples, encompassed numerous activity streams and took a total of six years to complete, ending in June, 2010. Prior to the l aunch of the project, MOA's thirty year old infrastructure was no longer able to successfully serve the increasing demands of its communities and users due to
