Methods: This prospective study was conducted in the Department of Orthopaedics in a tertiary health care centre between 1st January 2020 and 31st December 2021. A total of three patients (2 males and 1 female) with Hoffa’s disease were included in the study. Results: “Tegner–Lysholm score” was used for evaluation of function, and the mean Tegner–Lysholm score was 93. All the three patients had normal range of motion at 1 year follow-up. Conclusion: Hoffa’s disease has low incidence, and hence diagnosing the condition correctly is of utmost importance for its proper management.

The characteristic features are sinus formation, granules formation, and mass in subcutaneous region. Case report: A 19-year-old male presented to our out-patient clinic with complaint of a painless swelling around the medial aspect of the right knee joint for 8 months with no sinus or discharge of granules. Pes anserinus bursitis was thought of as differential diagnosis for the present condition. "Staging-classification of mycetoma" is commonly used for classifying mycetoma and as per classification, the present case had Stage-A. Conclusion: Single-stage local excision was performed and supplemented with anti-fungal agent for 6 months, which showed good outcome at the final follow-up of 13 months.

It does not present with the typical features of TB and can be confused with other pathologies affecting the heel. Very few case reports and case series studies are present to date for describing this rare entity. We report a 23-year-old female who presented to the orthopedic outpatient clinic with pain and swelling around the left heel and posterior aspect of the ankle for 3 months. Her radiograph showed a lytic lesion in the posterosuperior aspect of the calcaneum. Therefore, magnetic resonance imaging was done, which showed a lesion around the posterior-superior aspect of the calcaneum with the involvement of retrocalcaneal bursa. An incisional biopsy was performed, followed by en bloc excision of the lesion. The histopathological examination report suggested granuloma formation with caseous necrosis and the cartridge-based nucleic acid amplification test was also positive for mycobacterial TB infection. Proper clinical history, radiological examination, and biopsy are of utmost importance in these rare entities as they help in making the definitive diagnosis. Anti-Koch treatment is an effective treatment for TB, and the patient improved within 2 months of treatment both clinically (pain, swelling, and activity of daily routine) and radiologically (for bone formation and no recurrence). This report aimed to present a lytic lesion of the calcaneum that turned out to be TB and its management. The follow-up was 18 months post-surgery and showed no signs and symptoms of recurrence.

Most common mode of injury is high-energy trauma (road traffic accident, fall from height, sports injury) and is commonly seen in younger age group. Is open reduction and internal fixation with locking plates is the treatment of choice for sagittal plane medial femur condyle fractures with metaphseal extension? Methods: We conducted a prospective study from 1st January 2018 to 31st December 2021 including 12 patients (seven males and five females) with isolated medial femur condyle fractures (AO 33B2.1). In our study, open reduction and internal fixation was performed with medial femur plates or T-buttress plates in all 12 cases. At final follow-up, functional outcome was evaluated using ‘functional criteria’, ‘IKS knee and function score’ and radiological assessment. Results: At final follow-up, out of 12 patients, 11 had excellent to good outcome according to...

Treatment of GCT can be done by curettage with reconstruction or wide resection. The aim of this study is to see functional outcome of extended curettage and reconstruction with bone cement or sandwich technique along with internal fixation. Method: A total of 9 females and 6 males aged between 20-50 years managed with extended curettage and reconstruction with bone cement(6) or sandwich technique(9). Along with internal fixation in all patients except two patients (small lesion less than 5cm) between January 2015 to December 2020 were taken. Extended curettage was done with the help of 5% phenol and high speed burr. Functional outcome was evaluated using Musculoskeletal tumor society score (MSTS). Results: The mean follow up period was 20.13 months (range 12-48 months). The mean MSTS score at final follow up was 25.27 out of 30. Age, sex did not have much effect on ...

Obesity makes it harder to successfully provide epidural analgesia to a parturient. This narrative review explains the most recent data on the safety and complications of providing labour epidural analgesia in obese expectant mothers. We have emphasised the evidence-based approaches that are the most effective for obese pregnant mothers receiving labour epidural analgesia.

Most common mode of injury is high energy trauma (road traffic accident, fall from height and sports activities) (Saini R, Dhillon MS, Gill SS. Congenital subtalar dislocation-a case report. Foot 19; Kaufmann RA, Davidson R, McCarthy J. Bilateral congenital subtalar dislocation: A case report. Clin Orthop Relat Res 397). It is commonly seen in young men and the mechanism is inversion injury in plantar-flexed foot. Medial type dislocation is most commonly seen with incidence between 65% and 85% as stated in various studies. Pure ligamentous injuries have shown good prognosis, which when associated with fractures can affect the functional outcome. Methods: We conducted a prospective study from 1st January 2017 to 1st December 2020 including seven patients (5 males and 2 females) with closed medial subtalar dislocation with (1) or without fractures (6). In our study, closed reduction was performed in all cases. ...
