Conductive polymers are highly nanostructured materials formed by organic building blocks. The pr... more Conductive polymers are highly nanostructured materials formed by organic building blocks. The presence of delocalized molecular orbitals in these polymers makes them conductive. Present work deals with the study of polyaniline based conductive polymers synthesized by bulk oxidative chemical polymerization using ammonium per sulfate as an oxidant. The conductive polymeric materials were investigated by thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA), UV-visible studies confirmed the structure of synthesized polymers. TGA studies shows that polymeric materials are thermally stable upto about 150oC, above this temperature degradation of polymeric material starts. Slight structural and morphological changes are observed in TEM images with change in substituent in monomer units.

carried out by ammonium per sulphate as an
oxidant. Polyaniline nanoparticles were prepared
in aqueous medium by chemical oxidation using
emulsification diffusion method. The particle size
varied with the ratio of ammonium per
sulphate/PANI. The particle size determined by
scanning electron microscope was 50-60 nm. The
colloidal emulsion of green color has colloidal
stability and exists as stable emulsion without
any precipitation. The conductivity and
percentage yield get affected by
oxidant/monomer ratio.

and log K2 at different percentage compositions of dioxane-water shows favourable effect on complexation
equilibria

During the chemical oxidative polymerization m-toludine gets oxidized to poly m-toludine, neodymium chloride get reduced and produce metal- polymer composite. This composite is characterized by UV-Visible spectroscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy. The spectral study provides the information about the structure of metal-polymer composite. The XRD and SEM, TEM analysis shows the size of composite particles and morphology of the polymer respectively. Thermal stability of composite is studied by Thermogravimetric analysis. The increase in electrical conductivity due to metal dopant is confirmed by the Four probe conductivity method.

During the composite formation process o-toludine get oxidized to poly-o-toludine and reduction of metal salt takes place. The metal composites were characterized by FTIR, UV-visible spectroscopy, it provide the information about the structure of the metal –polymer composite. The XRD analysis show the size of nano particles where as the morphology of composite were studied by SEM & TEM analysis. Thermal properties of polymer composites were studied using thermo gravimetric analysis. The four probe conductivity measurements revealed the increase in conductivity of doped poly o-toludine polymers with lanthanide metals.
