object, behavior, not to change it and to refer to what is avoided. The enlightenment, also known as
good naming (euphemism), is a deliberate change in language. Although this change exists in every
society, it is accepted by individuals who share the same culture code.
Some names of the Alevi-Bektashism have been implicitly or have been defaced. In this section, the
impression aroused by the names of Abu Bakr, Omar, Osman and Muawiyah is generally the same
and the names mentioned are generally accepted as banned. Therefore, direct mentioning or
writing of the mentioned names is avoided. Professor Dr. The names of Omer, Osman and Muaviye
were rejected in the notes of Mehmet Fatih Köksal. In addition to being used in history reduction, it
also has a function in covering the names of assets and concepts that are disturbed by mentioning or
writing for various reasons.
This work; it aims to draw attention to the names that are forbidden in Alevi-Bektashi culture by
explaining taboo, euphemism and ebced. In this article, the function of taboo and some of the
concepts and objects that are called taboo in Turkish culture will be given. In addition, the narrative
background of the names banned in the Alevi-Bektashi culture will be briefly mentioned. Drawing on
the examples in the clan, attention will be given to the role of the wisdom in implicit discourse.
