In the research, it has been tried to investigate how much of organizational cynicism can be attributed to leadership styles. The study was conducted according to the relational screening model. The study group selected by the purposeful sampling method consists of a total of 142 teachers working in five secondary schools in Kayseri. The Organizational Cynicism Scale was used to determine organizational cynicism. The Multicultural Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ 5x-short) was used to determine the leadership styles of school managers. Correlation coefficients were calculated for the relationship between variables, whether the variables influence each other and what the power of explanation is revealed by multiple regression analysis. According to research findings, school principals mostly exhibit transformative leadership behaviours. There is a negative relationship between the transformational leadership dimension and the cognitive and behavioural dimensions of organizational cynicism. As a result of the regression analysis performed, transformational leader's influence on cognitive and behavioural dimensions of organizational cynicism is significant.

As the disease progresses, respiratory muscle involvement, cardiac symptoms and joint contractures, which may lead to perioperative complications, often occur. In the present report we described successful anesthetic management for a patient with an LGMD who underwent posterior spinal fusion due to scoliosis.

Texas Heart Institute journal / from the Texas Heart Institute of St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, Texas Children's Hospital, 2007

The presence of a pulmonary artery aneurysm, major aortopulmonary and coronary-pulmonary collater... more The presence of a pulmonary artery aneurysm, major aortopulmonary and coronary-pulmonary collateral vessels, and severe pulmonary hypertension in an adult with unilateral pulmonary artery agenesis and previous patent ductus arteriosus ligation is very rare. A 34-year-old man experienced these conditions. When he was 10 years old, catheterization and angiography revealed right pulmonary artery agenesis, dilation of the main pulmonary artery, multiple collateral vessels extending from the aorta to the right pulmonary system, and a patent ductus arteriosus (shunt ratio, 3.57) that was then ligated; the other conditions were not corrected. This adult patient was in New York Heart Association functional class II; mild central cyanosis was detected only during exercise. The right pulmonary arterial system was seen only at the right hilar area via collateral vessels from the subclavian, bronchial, internal mammary, and intercostal arteries. Angiography revealed collateral vessels from the ...

He had a 30-year history of anemia and short-term iron therapy without blood transfusion. Hemoglobin level was 7.1 g/dl and hematocrit was 22.7%. White blood-cell and platelet counts, and serum ferritin level were normal. Electrocardiography showed irregular narrow QRS bradyarrhythmia, suggesting slow atrial fibrillation at a mean rate of 35 beats/min. Echocardiographic examination revealed dilatation of the right atrium and ventricle, depressed systolic right ventricular function, advanced tricuspid regurgitation, and mild pericardial effusion. In the electrophysiologic study, no electrical activity was recorded in the right atrium. It was inexcitable at multiple sites and no retrograde conduction to the right atrium could be elicited by ventricular pacing. His bundle (HB) recording showed fixed retrograde HB activation with ventricular rhythm originating from different foci. Retrograde V-H c...

We present clinical follow-up of a 20-year-old male with an aortic aneurysm secondary to aortic c... more We present clinical follow-up of a 20-year-old male with an aortic aneurysm secondary to aortic coarctation. The diagnosis of aortic aneurysm secondary to aortic coarctation was made in 1997. The patient did not agree to undergo any invasive or therapeutic procedures at that time. He presented to an emergency unit with severe chest pain after chest trauma obtained during judo exercises in 1998. Two-dimensional echocardiography showed bicuspid aortic valves, an ascending aortic aneurysm 6 cm in diameter with an intimal flap and false lumen, aortic coarctation distal to the left subclavian artery, and aortic insufficiency secondary to annular dilatation. Type II aortic dissection was confirmed by transesophageal echocardiography, which showed the dissection was confined to the ascending aorta. The dissection extended to the beginning of the arcus aorta. Following stabilization of the patient's clinical condition, balloon coarctation angioplasty was performed to reduce afterload and hypertension and to facilitate femoral artery cannulation for cardiopulmonary bypass. Surgical procedures included resection of the aortic valve and prosthetic valve implantation, resection of the ascending aorta, and interposition of a 22 mm Hamashied tubular vascular graft. At a follow-up visit 6 years later, the patient reported being easily fatigued and having palpitations. He had been suffering from hemolytic anemia and mild renal function impairment. Cardiac catheterisation and angiography showed a 40 mmHg gradient due to kinking of the aortic graft and no gradient at the coarctation site. We postulated the kinking of the aortic vascular graft may be related to an inappropriate vascular graft length. We also thought that the severe hemolysis was attributable to the disturbance of blood flow by a jet of blood at the site of the kinking aortic vascular graft. A second operation was performed because the renal function of the patient had decreased progressively and hemolysis symptoms increased. After the second operation, hemolysis on peripheral blood smears had disappeared and renal function had shown progressive improvements.

Today, it is used in many tasks such as object detection, tracking and mapping. Mobile robots used in mapping implementations are usually guided by user inputs. However, in some cases, this guidance is autonomously implemented through exploration algorithms that are examined under the active Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) keyword. These algorithms are usually based on Laser Imaging Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) sensor. Since this sensor has a bulky structure and occupancy grid maps require heavy computing time, it is needed to develop new kinds of algorithms. In this study, we propose a novel Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) based algorithm that can create a map of an environment with a mobile robot that is independent of user inputs and move autonomously. For the first stage, the CNN structure is trained using the data set consisting of the environment image and the wheel angles related to these images so that the CNN model learns how to guide the robot. For the second stage, the robot is navigated autonomously through the trained network in an environment which is different from the first one, and the map of the environment is acquired simultaneously. Training and testing processes have been realized on a real-time implementation and the advantages of the developed method have been verified.

In this simulation study the fugitives are trying to escape from a campus region which has five possible gates for entrance and exit. Because of not determining the possible escape ways of fugitives, it is hard to obtain useful results from police or security chase in a quick time. In this approach, some security robots are waiting in stand-by position to get a new command for positioning in a specified area. Happening of any undesired case, robots are informed by an operator which gate is the alarmed gate. At this point, multi-robots are positioned by using graph theory if the communication range is appropriate to connect each other. This imaginary scenario is supposed to take place in the campus of Selçuk University. There are five gates in the campus that are used for vehicle and pedestrian entrance and exit. Both an environment mapping and an agent's localization are provided with SLAM systems. However, while performing SLAM for an unknown environment, the robot is navigated by three different ways: a user guidance, random movements on an exploration mode or exploration algorithms. A user guidance or random exploration methods have some drawbacks that a user may not be able to observe the agent or random process may take a long time. In order to answer these problems, it is searched for a new and autonomous exploration algorithm for SLAM systems. In this manner, a new kind of left-orientated autonomous exploration algorithm for SLAM systems has been improved. To show the algorithm effectiveness, a factorylike environment is made up on the ROS (Robot Operating System) platform and navigation of the agent is observed. The result of the study demonstrates that it is possible to perform SLAM autonomously in any similar environment without the need of the user interference.

[1] The agents against breast cancer, the effects of the molecular mechanisms related to the cell proliferation, and survival are tried for the treatment. [2] Boron compounds are now subject to study due to their possible beneficial effects on human health. [3] There is increasing evidence that leads to the hypothesis that boron has anticarcinogenic properties. In recent studies, it has also been reported that the use of boron-based compounds as anticancer agents has increased, especially in inoperable cancers, and those with high malignancy. [4] However, the mechanisms that underlie the observed antitumorigenic effects of boron are not clearly known. There are previous studies that promote boron as a chemopreventative agent for prostate cancer, [5] but its effect on MDA-MB-231 human breast cancer cells remains obscure. The boron-soluble forms include boric acid (BA-H 3 BO 3), borax pentahydrate or boron penta (BP-Na 2 B 4 O 7 .5H 2 O), and disodium pentaborate decahydrate or T-Boron (DPD-Na 2 O.5B 2 O 3 .10H 2 O, BOREN; National Boron Research Institute, Ankara, Turkey). On the other hand, the effect of BA, BP, and T-Boron on angiogenesis and oxidative stress is not known. Angiogenesis, one of the major hallmarks of cancer, is in-Objectives: We aimed to investigate the distribution of immunoreactivities of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS), and inducible NOS (iNOS) on breast cancer cells in response to treatment with boron derivatives. Methods: We initially analyzed the cytotoxic effect and IC50 value of boron by MTT assay. For the evaluation of the angiogenesis, expression level of antibodies was detected to following boron derivatives such as boric acid, boron penta (BP), and T-Boron (DPD) in the absence of boron treatment using the indirect immunohistochemical method. The evaluation of these staining was done using the H-scoring system. Results: It was found that immunoreactivities of VEGF, eNOS, and iNOS increased on control compared to those of the cells of MDA-MB231 human breast cancer cell line. Following boron derivatives treatment, it was observed that they were inhibited the VEGF/NOS labeling in MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells. Conclusion: The present data suggest that BP, especially DPD, inhibits the angiogenesis of breast cancer cells through VEGF pathway. From this point, these boron derivatives may provide a novel therapeutic approach for breast cancer treatment.
