The Aim of This paper is to determine the Effectiveness of road construction in the landslide occurred. The model runs to base on geotechnical data extracted from laboratory testing on the 15 landslide points. A landslide inventory map along the road Kiasar, including 63 landslide points was prepared for study area. The results of field investigations, analyzing geological data, laboratory tests and running model indicated that 88% of landslides are in the unstable region which represents a successful prediction of running model in this area and also according to this model, 25/9 percent of the areas were located as stable. The results established that the SHALSTAB model is also a valuable model for prediction of landslide prone zone for the occurren...

The reasons can be either natural or man-made. Geospatial technology includes Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote sensing (RS) tools and methods for improved landslide inventory mapping and landslide assessment and susceptibility. The application of geospatial sciences has spread very fast and wide over the past few decades in the world. This paper presents a summary and a classification of the recent developments in different approaches to landslide hazards while using GIS modeling for the analysis of the causative factors. The application of GIS is an essential tool in the data analysis and slope stability modeling that has been recognized worldwide. In addition, this paper indicates the application of various remote sensing techniques in order to prepare a landsl...

These models can be classified into four main methods: inventory, heuristic, statistic and deterministic. Recent studies have shown that the best approaches for landslide spatial prediction is the application of deterministic slope stability models, combined with steady state or transient models for hill slope hydrology. These may provide scenarios of potential instability under changing environmental and climatic conditions but are very data demanding at watershed scales. Several authors have developed GIS models by coupling a dynamic hydrological model that simulates the pore pressure over time with a slope stability model that quantifies the susceptibility as the critical pore pressure threshold. Therefore, those require with...

Due to the important role of Lithology in the study area, an attempt was made to determine the potential land sliding areas. Consequently, a digital mapping and of the location of these Landslides in the region were performed. Then, using statistical methods, density, frequency and information value of the types of geology formation in the study areas were evaluated. As a result, it became clear that the Paleocene and Plio-Miocene formations were the most important formations of land sliding and as compared to other litho types; they possess the highest marl contents which are of unstable nature. These rock types constituted a major part of foundation of these villages in the areas.

Soil and water conservation (SWC) techniques such as mechanical treatments (placing check dams) and biological treatments (vegetation restoration) are being applied to reduce the velocity of runoff and mitigate the impact of floods. In this research, we evaluated four different SWC scenarios to see how the watershed responds to those watershed treatments. We calibrated and validated a rainfall-runoff model to simulate the impact of biological and mechanical treatments on peak discharge and volume of the runoff in Bishebone watershed in the north of Iran. Simulation of peak discharge for before and after watershed treatments for floods with return periods of 2 to 100 years shows that, the combination impact of mechanical and biological treatments on floods with return period of 100 years is 6.95 to 9.94 percent. Results also show that the impact of mechanical treatments on floods with higher return periods is relatively more than that of shorter return periods.

This part describes the squeezing behavior of poor rock mass associated with deformability and strength properties. Squeezing phenomena happen in tunnels which are surrounded by weak and moderately strength of rock. Squeezing cause to deformed the tunnels cross section and wastes a lot of human and natural source in all of the word every year. The purpose of current study is to determine methods employed to classifying and quantifying of potential squeezing in tunnel. The results show that some part of case-study tunnel has potential of squeezing. Along with the empirical and semi-empirical approaches is available in order to evaluating of potential of squeezing in tunnel are presented moreover squeezing potential evaluation of Padang Renas tunnel which is located in tropical area (Malaysia) are presented.. The implications of the anticipated ground conditions and squeezing on machine and ground support selection as well as the field observation of the actual conditions are discussed in this paper.

In this paper, mitigation of Flourd landslide in Savadkouh by using non-woven geosynthetic was investigated. Reinforced slope was designed using limit equilibrium analysis and numerical method such as those based on the Fed-eral Highway Administration of the USÀ (FHWA) guidelines and finite element method and with in-situ residual soil pa-rameters. The main goal of this paper in designing a reinforced slope instead of failed slope is finding number of reinforce-ment layers and vertical distance of reinforcement layers. Using the non-woven fabric to repair failed slope is a good option to prevent respective failures. When the non-woven fabric is used, it not only generates the tension forces to enhance the overall stability of slopes, but also prevents the devel-opment of pore water trapped in clayey soils by providing horizontal drainage through the fabric. Results of analysis showed
