Parliamentary votes, preclassified by an expert (on a chosen subset), are verified at an assumed significance level by seeking the most likely match with the act ual vote results. Classifications that do not meet the requirements defined are rejected. The results obtained can be applied in the ideological dimensioning algorithms, enabling ideological identificat ion of dimensions obtained.

Design/Research method: The paper presents the concept of analysis of intellectual capital flows and frame of methodology for construction a comprehensive model of the intellectual capital flows and its influence on society. Conclusions/Findings: Authors of the article suggest that intellectual capital flow is more critical than intellectual capital in its comprehensive analysis. Originality/Value of the article: Intellectual capital was expressed as a vector-the basic element of the flow-and the components of the vector describes various elements of intellectual capital while the flow itself should be a multidimensional flow.

Bi-temporal databases guarantees that the results may be always reproduced exactly as they were at some previous point in time. The concept of bi-temporal data is reviewed when designing model of the merger transaction database. Special attention is paid to the problem of late-arriving information. The Polish merger market is presented as an example.

In other words, each game player always forms a matrix of binar relations between his strategies and strategies of possible partners in the coalition — but it seems to be the very natural way of decision making.

In this work, we propose a new fuzzy game for multicriteria voting. We use this game to show changes in Shapley’s values in a situation where the weights of individual member countries are not determined and we describe non-determinism with fuzzy sets. In particular, this concerns considerations related to pre-coalitions.

Models constructed with the use of a set of given factors are usually statistically significant, but at the same time the determination coefficient is very low. An econometric technique is proposed, which increases the determination coefficient of such a model and consequently improves the estimation of voting power using a power index. Such an approach enables us to investigate the nature of hidden factors by considering their effects and variation in the model. An example and algorithm for improving the econometric model are also presented.

The legal merger duration definitions are presented together with the system of Burr probability distributions as a part of stable heavy-tailed probability distribution family. A characteristics and reasons of choosing Burr distributions of type III and XII are presented too as well as the data collected about Polish merger process market. Finally, statistical reasoning for obtained results and some conclusions and suggestions for future research are presented in the paper.

Introducing a veto into the process of group decision making (voting, aggregating preferences) dr... more Introducing a veto into the process of group decision making (voting, aggregating preferences) drastically changes the position of decision makers and, consequently, it changes their power index. In this paper we derive the Shapley-Shubik and Penrose-Banzhaf indices for a class of voting games with vetoes. We also present a way of constructing a simple voting game which is equivalent to a game with vetoes of first degree. This simplifies the calculation of power indices by allowing us to use standard algorithms which are available online.
