Reactions of several 2,3-disubstituted indoles, bearing a chlorine or amino function at position ... more Reactions of several 2,3-disubstituted indoles, bearing a chlorine or amino function at position 2 and an 1,2-dicarbonyl group or bromoacetyl substituent at position 3, with N,N-dimethylguanidine is reported. In general, 5-indol-3-yl imidazole derivatives are found to be the reaction products, however when the 3-bromoacetyl-2-tertbutoxycarbonylaminoindole is used the 2-dimethylamino-4-hydroxy-6-methoxymethyl-3H-imidazo[4',5':3,4]pyrido[2,3-b]indole is obtained through a step-wise formation of the pyridine and the imidazole rings. The crystal molecular structure of 5.H20 and 7.HBr.H20.3/2 EtOH have been determined by X-Ray analysis. The water molecules in 5. H20 act as both donor O-H...N) and acceptor (N-H..D) and are responsible for the formation of strands along the b axis. Marine organisms are among the most promising sources of new and biologically active molecules. Certain secondary metabolites are non-traditional guanidine-based alkaloids ~ that possess a broad spectrum of powerful biological activities. The guanidine moiety is most frequently found in the guise of a 2-aminoimidazole ring that is generally substituted with alkyl groups on carbon or nitrogen. 2-8 Marine alkaloids grossularines, possessing a cyclic guanidine moiety in the form of 2dimethylaminoimidazole subunit, were isolated in 1984 from the marine tunicate Dendrodoa grossularia (Stylidae) collected in the coast of Brittany. 9 ~0 These compounds, which are Dedicated to Prof. Alan R. En tal sentido, la interpretación del desarrollo económico adquiere relevancia en la medida en que se lo compare con el desarrollo social. Y para tal fin, resulta importante la construcción de un Sistema de Indicadores económico-social con tres características: completo, pertinente y mínimo, lo que significa que debe contemplar todos los aspectos importantes que estén directamente vinculados con el tema, en un conjunto integrado de medidas resumen, con un enfoque acertado y cubriendo esa realidad con la menor cantidad posible de información.
