Therefore, we aim to test the controlling variables' role as mediators in explaining how academic and professional worries can be reduced. The survey was conducted in Romania in 2021 on a sample of 329 students attending full-time courses in the field of social work, both bachelor's studies and master. The study was cross-sectional but considered a causal orientation for the variables (i.e., past pandemic emotional impactpresent social support and satisfaction with lifefuture academic and professional worries). The findings showed that although life satisfaction does not significantly determine academic and professional worries, perceived social support has a significant direct effect. Indirect effects indicate a decrease in academic and professional worry when controlling for perceived social support alone and while controlling for both perceived social support and satisfaction with life. Additionally, our findings show that students who were less emotionally impacted by the pandemic effects had no worries about their capacity to continue or complete their studies or their employment perspectives.

The study proposes to identify those factors that may influence the quality of the medical act. The identified factors are present on the level of university training, of lifelong learning, of specializations and professional developments, on the level of the organization and functioning of the medical system. We also present the solutions identified by the physicians. The study is based on the analysis of 12 interviews conducted with physicians within public and private institutions in Iași. The topics of discussion were centred on the following aspects: medical system evaluation (comparison with European medical systems, but also between the public and the private system), relationships within the system (collaboration between institutions, collaboration with the family physician), work relationships, assessment of relationship system with/ between colleagues and professional recognition. This paper brings to attention the difficulties pointed out by physicians within the exercise of their profession, in their relationship with both institutions and patients. The main aspects pointed out are related to insufficient funding (reflected in the amount of equipments and drugs, in the infrastructure), to insufficient hospital staff, overstressing, university training and lifelong learning (that do not benefit from a unitary and integrating approach) and to the permanent change of the legislative framework that regulates the exercise of the medical profession.

He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy and Classical Philology in Iaşi, and in 1914 he defended his doctoral thesis (and was granted magna cum laude) at the University of Berlin. After finalizing his studies, Zeletin taught at the University of Iaşi. Concerning his work, Ştefan Zeletin did not have the same attitude towards the two aspects of his thought: philosophy and sociology. He considered himself a philosopher who failed to complete his system of thought only because of the tough circumstances. Persuaded that there is an organic connectionyet to be discoveredbetween the economic life of a country, on one hand, and the political, legal and cultural institutions, on the other, (Claudian 1935) Ștefan Zeletin began his sociological writings, which marked the political and cultural life of those times. The sociological and political works, which had made him known in several settings, were viewed by Zeletin as an episode within his activity, which he would have wanted to be focused on purely philosophical works. The author explains the approach to the practical aspects of social reality by the fact that he was determined to attend various events, which he felt the need to understand. An event that marked him deeply was the War of 1916-1918, to which he took part as an infantry officer; this event drew him closer to the oftendisappointing reality of the Romanian society in an ongoing process of construction. "Hence, I decided to make the ultimate sacrifice: to renounce, for now, to any philosophical activity, to get to know our society just like it is and to try to give back to it something that may be in its interest. This also helped me fulfil an ardent desire I had felt on the front where, the carbine on my shoulder, I saw our society collapse like a cardboard castle." (Zeletin 1927 p. 276) This article aims at unravelling several aspects regarding the life, the work and the sociological view of the author.

The idea of program implies, among others, formalizing and/or standardizing the activities. In the conditions of chronic disease, the self-care of health status can also be achieved in the absence of self-management programs, and it may represent: (1) a set of non-formal actions that the patient initiates following his/her own method, (2) a set of formal actions that the patient initiates upon the physician's recommendation or (3) a combination between the two situations. In this context, the outcome of (self)-care is influenced by a series of factors. The purpose of this study is to identify the formal and non-formal elements specific to self-care, which may represent premises for the creation of self-management programs to support the persons diagnosed with chronic heart diseases. To this end, we conducted 13 interviews with patients with chronic heart diseases within the clinic of the "Dr. C.I. Parhon" Clinic Hospital in Iaşi.

The components of this connection are: the attachment to a person that can motivate him/her; the involvement in utility inducing academic projects; constructively spent leisure time; the awareness that laws must be obeyed. Minors' criminality is rooted in the profound transformations that have altered the functions of the family, the school, the community, and that have dramatically reduced their formative role for teenagers. There are various risk or protective factors that influence the attitudes and behavior of teenagers in the case of substance consumption. The analysis of these factors is useful in the development, analysis and assessment of intervention/treatment programs. The studies suggest that the support for certain measures, campaigns, activities focused on protective factors (biological, psychological, social), especially when teenagers are the target group, is a viable alternative to the encouragement and leading of life without substance consumption.

The authors assessfrom a comparative perspectivethe effects of various family policies upon family in general and how these policies have influenced the adjustment process of the family, focusing on families in the Republic of Moldova. The particularities of these families are underscored by the multitude of empirical data collected through quantitative and qualitative researches, which the authors outline in the book. The work is structured in five chapters and the official data used are those provided by specialized establishments, processed by the authors in agreement with research specifics. They also use data resulted from six qualitative and quantitative studies conducted in the period 2009-2014. The qualitative researchbased on semi-structured interviewstargeted 45 professionals with experience in family work and 35 young people who have a had a family life experience (marriage, divorce, consensual union). The quantitative researchesusing as instrument selfadministered questionnaires on representative samples, within various regions in the Republic of Moldovahighlight various problems on the family institution, including the adjustment of young families to the new living standards. The authors' research endeavour also includes a content analysis of written press: articles within three newspapers in the Republic of Moldova written in the period 2005-2014, on the topic of family. This book used data collected within other sociological investigations to which the authors participated. They approach family topic from a multidisciplinary perspective, thus providing information on the evolution and magnitude of the phenomenon, on the consequences of legal and psychosocial family "adjustment" and on prevention measures and intervention models. Hence, the scientific endeavour initiated by the authors is perfectly covered and motivated from the perspective of both social contemporary realities and the social efforts necessary to

Yet the notion of trust is often regarded as ambiguous, difficult to define and to investigate. Trust has only recently begun to be measured and analyzed in the health sector and almost no empirical investigation has been conducted in developing countries. In high income countries this interest is associated with concern for the decline of trust in governments and professionals, and in developing countries has been prompted by debates around the notion of social capital. Empirical studies found a decrease in the degree of trust in medical institutions, which can be explained by epistemological challenges about the authenticity of knowledge (Popay et al. 2003), by a drop in trust in the power of science (Irwin and Michael, 2003), and by an increase in individual and social reflexivity (Giddens 1994, pp. 194–197). The purpose of this article is to identify—in scientific literature—the way in which trust in health systems and the determinants of a relationship based on trust have been measured. In the analysis, we used the PubMed database, without specifying a certain time interval, and the reports of the European Commission referring to health. The following concepts were used: trust, institutional trust, health system, literature review.

The increase in adherence to treatment and in the quality of care, implicitly, may depend on allotting the resources necessary within therapeutic effort and on the effectiveness of the partnership between patient and doctor. Assuming the medical decision as a team may lead to solving the issue of non-adherence (Armstrong, 2014). Whereas the values of the functional parameters of the body represent an objective measurement of treatment efficiency and to some extent of adherence to it, implicitly, assessing the patient's lifestyle involves understanding his experience, which is governed by subjectivity. This article has the following objectives: (1) to analyze the definitions of adherence to treatment from a biomedical perspective and from the perspective of Chronic Care Model (CCM); (2) to identify the characteristics specific to the roles of acting participants to healthcare and to analyze the modifications of roles by the choice of theoretical model and (3) to identify the determining factors of adherence to treatment.

To highlight the perspectives of SW students during the pandemic, we used a mixed sociological approach that combined exploratory qualitative research (using the focus-group technique) with cross-sectional quantitative research. Participants who had both on-site and online SW studies before and after the COVID-19 outbreak were included in the study. The study was conducted during a period when almost all educational activities were held online. We aimed to investigate students’ perceptions of the educational process during the pandemic, how their wellbeing was affected, and their perspectives on educational and professional development. Students identified advantages of online learning, such as discovering online learning tools, and disadvantages, mainly marked b...

This study focused on the analysis of 211 questionnaires applied to final-year university Bachelor's degree and Master students at the Social Work speciality and medical speciality (Physical therapy and Rehabilitation) recruited from two public universities of the northeast part of Romania. The comparative study analysed the opinions expressed by the university students regarding the training of skills and competences, the involvement in practicum and volunteering activities during the emergency period, the intention to migrate towards another profession or another geographical area. Through this study, we outline a diagnosis regarding the impact of the state of emergency on the academic training process of final-year university students. The purpose of the study is to highlight the progress of the educational process (framework, accumulation of skills and theoretical and practical knowledge, educational and professional concerns and adapting strategies) in the context of the pandemic, among students within the two specialities in their final academic year. This a crucial year for the transition towards a professional career in the healthcare fields chosen. Our results allow us to formulate the conclusion that a high degree of concern regarding the perspectives of finding a job is accompanied by a high propensity towards working abroad after finishing the studies.

The sample comprised 282 undergraduate and master students in the Social Work field. The factor analysis performed shows an initial validity of the PAWAUS scale. Generally, the findings of this study indicate that the students adapted rapidly and (relatively) fluidly to the new context but reported worries related to their academic and professional path. The premise from which we started was the following: the Social Work students follow, in the pandemic context, a speciality where the combination of theoretical knowledge with practical skills...

According to Eurostat [7], Romania will experience one of the most accelerated declines in the working age population in the European Union, so the working age population from 20 to 64 years old in Romania is expected to decline by 30% by 2060. In the absence of policies for healthy and active aging, all these processes will result in an increased demand for long-term health and care services, higher poverty rates, greater social exclusion, and addiction among the elderly [30, 31]. The paper aims to bring into focus active policies to involve the elderly on the labour market, to valorise seniors as an active part of civil society more after retirement, and analyze social determinants to prevent premature physical aging. 1 Demographic Trends Romania has been facing deep socioeconomic transformations due first of all to the demographic changes. The population aging process was the result of constant improvements in the quality of life reflected in higher life expectancy, decreasing fertility rates and increasing emigration among the younger age groups. The projections of the United Nations Population Division [33] shows that in the subsequent decades, the number of persons aged over 65 will increase significantly, whereas the active population (between 15 and 64) will decrease considerably. Romania, according to Eurostat [7], will face one of the most rapid decreases in the active population within the European Union. In retrospect, not only in perspective, it is worth noting for the last ten years, pursuant to the data provided by the National Institute of Statistics (I.N.S.) a decrease

In Romania, the National Education Law no. 1/2011 mentions that parents are considered principal partners and beneficiaries of the educational process. This study is based on the analysis of over 60 interviews conducted with form teachers within high schools of Iași. The topics concerned the following aspects: substance use; frequency of use; age of onset; substance use locations, in association with socio¬demographic characteristics (gender and age, educational background, place of residence, and marital status); influence of risk and protection factors (drug accessibility and availability, family use and parents’ attitude towards children’s use, parental authority and involvement in c...

Employment is a matter of major interest for all economic agents and social partners, with various implications: economic, psychosocial, educational–cultural, and political. Restructuring the labour factor should meet the requirements of the new equipments and technologies, of the new forms of organization and leadership, of the new mechanisms, methods, and instruments used in the economic activity within a specific, flexible, and effective educational system. The primordial objective of health strategies all over the world are the reduction of the gap or inequalities responsible for the significant differences in health status between various regions or populations. In Romania, Government Decision no. 1028 of November 18, 2014 on approving the National health strategy 2014 - 2020 and the Plan of actions for the period 2014 – 2020, for the implementation of the National Strategy, have the purpose of improving the health status of the population and of reducing the inequalities between the counties/ regions of the country. The reduction of health inequalities requires a focused action of the public health policy and of a series of other policies with an impact on health, among which social protection, education and environment. Although important steps were made in the field, special attention must be paid to equity, especially the equity of health services, to...

The study proposes to pinpoint the factors that may influence the quality of the physician-patient relationship. We identified factors at the level of communication between physician and patient, of empowering and involving the patient, of understanding the patient, of the patient's way through the system, and of relating to a "second opinion." We also present solutions identified by physicians for optimising these relations. The study is based on the analysis of 12 interviews conducted with physicians within public and private institutions in Iaşi. The topics of discussion focused on the following aspects: physician-patient relationship, physician's trust in the patient, particularities of trust relationship, patient empowerment and involvement, level of patient's information, "the second opinion," physician's experience as a patient (or as caregiver). The paper brings attention to the difficulties pinpointed by physicians, in their relation with both the institutions and the patients. The main aspects identified are related to the way in which the physician-patient relationship is

Numerous studies have highlighted the decisive influence of a qualitative relationship between parents and children, parents/family and school upon children’s education (Irimescu 2010).

Considering the rapid transformations of each nation – including the increase in unemployment rate –, only those people and companies with high creative potential and ability to adjust rapidly to the changes in the outside environment will survive. The entire Romanian e...

The components of this connection are: the attachment to a person that can motivate him/her; the involvement in utility inducing academic projects; constructively spent leisure time; the awareness that laws must be obeyed. Minors’ criminality is rooted in the profound transformations that have altered the functions of the family, the school, the community, and that have dramatically reduced their formative role for teenagers. There are various risk or protective factors that influence the attitudes and behavior of teenagers in the case of substance consumption. The analysis of these factors is useful in the development, analysis and assessment of intervention/treatment programs. The studies suggest that the support for certain measures, campaigns, activities focused on protective factors (bio- l...
