Although there are many different mapping methods with many different input data, radon flux data are generally missing and are not included for the delineation of radon priority areas (RPA). The aim of this literature review is to investigate to what extent radon flux was used, or could be used, for the delineation of RPAs. Numerous factors influencing radon flux were identified, but quantifying their contribution to radon flux measurement still remains a challenge. Different methods and measuring devices were used for the determination of radon flux, thus it is necessary to identify possible inconsistencies in order to harmonise different radon flux measurements. Due to the complexity of radon flux measurements, only two countries were identified to have performed national surveys on outdoor radon, w...

Calibration coefficients were compared for a secondary standard ionisation chamber for 3 X-ray and 2 γ-ray radiation qualities used in the field of radiation protection. Radiation qualities were established according to ISO 4037-1. Measurements were performed between 2019 and 2021. For the purpose of this comparison, it was considered that the reported uncertainty was confirmed if the relative deviation from the comparison reference value was smaller than or equal to the associated uncertainty. All the reported results by all the partners satisfied this criterium. Three participants were not able to perform calibrations in all mandatory radiation qualities, due to technical problems. The results are published in the Key Comparison Data Base (KCDB) of the BIPM as supplemen...

These quantities are measured by special types of dosimeters which are calibrated in standard radiation qualities established in calibration laboratories. However, in clinical practice the dosimeters are used in different conditions, including the radiation quality and field size. In this paper, energy and field size dependence are studied for both types of dosimeters. One dosimeter of each type is tested. The KAP-meter has shown significant dependence on both radiation quality and field size, while the dependence of the CT-chamber is much less pronounced. Two different approaches can be used to correct for the difference between conditions during calibration and in clinical practice. When the clinical beam is well characterized and energy and field size dependence of the dosimeter are well known, the optimum solution is to apply the adequate correction factor to t...

Many laboratories perform the sampling and measurements according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency method - EPA 520. According to this method, no corrections for temperature are applied and corrections for humidity are based on canister mass gain. The EPA method is practiced in the Vinca Institute of Nuclear Sciences with recycled canisters. In the course of measurements, it was established that the mass gain of the recycled canisters differs from mass gain measured by Environmental Protection Agency in an active atmosphere. In order to quantify and correct these discrepancies, in the laboratory, canisters were exposed for periods of 3 and 4 days between February 2015 and December 2015. Temperature and humidity were monitored continuously and mass gain measured. No significant correlation between mass gain and temperature was found. Based on Environmental Protection Agency ...

Дат је предлог за математички израз силе реакције којом препрека делује на назначену тачку када је ова у контакту с препреком. Приказани су одговарајући резултати симулације када је механички систем једна назначена материјална тачка. (In favor of modeling of contact phenomena and unilateral constraints new model of a flat viscoelastic obstacle that can act only to designated points on the mechanical system is described. A proposal of mathematical expression for reaction force by which the obstacle acts to the designated point during the contact is given. The appropriate simulation results in case that the mechanical system is one designated material point are presented.)

The graphs of other functions are noticed inside its domain, the function itself is observed over these graphs and its projections onto appropriate subsets of the Cartesian product of its domain and codomain are defined. The notation system for these notions is described and an illustrative example is presented. The aim of this paper is to give a geometrical obviousness in handling functions in order that some theoretical results may easier be presented and be easier to understand.

(The mathematical model of rigid bodies system in the form of tree structure is given. The model is given in the vector form where the results of Wittenburg [7] have been used. The model is adapted for studying the motion and balance keeping of locomotive mechanisms by explicitly expressing in the equations of motion the specific gravito-inertial force (GIF [7]) of a point on a rigid body at the end of the tree of rigid bodies system.)

(The model of a rigid body and light foot joined by the revolute joint in the constant gravitational field is dscribed. The rigid body moves in the vertical plane, whereas the light foot lies on the flat horizontal support. The ZMP method is applied to keeping the dynamic balance of the rigid body with light foot by means of the driving moment which is calculated by the method and which acts in the joint. It is shown that the method does not afford sufficient conditions for the body not to fall to the support.)

Chattering, which inevitably arises in sliding mode control, is avoided by PD control function as a member of the set of continuous control functions that can stabilize the nominal motion of the mechanical system. We shall show how to distinguish two phases of the decomposition principle in the case of PD control and how the gains of PD control affect these phases.
