The production of solid waste continues to increase as the population and standard of living increases. In addition, changes in living conditions can induce significant variation in the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of waste. Objectives. The aim of the present study was to examine the impact of the lockdown period on the generation of solid waste produced in the city of Marrakech. Methods. The tonnage of household waste, construction and demolition waste and green waste was collected from the landfill and an analysis was made during the lockdown period in 2020 in comparison with the same period in 2019. Results. The analysis of solid waste tonnage in 2019 and 2020 showed that the lockdown had a significant impact on the various wastes; with a 27.61% decrease for household waste, 6.27% decrease in the case of green waste, and 57.40% decrease for construction and demolition waste. Discussion. The degree to which the tonnage of household waste decreased depen...

In Morocco, as in many countries, most patients use medicinal plants as an alternative therapy for many diseases, including lithiasis. The fruit of Cydonia oblonga Miller. is traditionally used for the prevention and treatment of several diseases. The present study aims to explore the effects of aqueous extracts of pulp and peel quince on oxalocalcic crystallization. These results show that the aqueous extracts of C. oblonga M can inhibit calcium oxalate crystallization.

Within the suborder, the subfamily Trematominae is important for coastal Antarctic ecosystems. The eleven Trematomus species occupy a large range of ecological niches. The genus is monophyletic if the genus Pagothenia (two additional species) and Cryothenia amphitreta, also nested within it, are included. Although the Trematominae have received much interest, the relationships among these fourteen species are still unclear. Several recent studies have tried to resolve these interrelationships; however no complete and clear picture has emerged, probably because of the use of a low number of insufficiently variable markers. The only common results places T. scotti as the sister-group of the rest of the subfamily and T. loennbergi close to T. lepidorhinus. We use here more variable markers. Four nuclear markers, two of which are new, and a mitochondrial marker for the biggest trematomine sampling ever gathered (14 species, 78 specimens). We found that several nuclear haplotypes are shared by several species (mostly in very closely related species). The haplotype patterns coupled with the cytogenetics of the subfamily suggest that a phenomenon of incomplete lineage sorting is likely to be at play. Using a calibration linked to fossil evidence, we evaluate the relative ages of each clade within the Trematominae to assess the proximity of the speciation events to one another. The main trematomine diversification was recent and sudden

Among other results, we prove that if T is a bounded linear operator acting on a Banach space X satisfies generalized a-Weyl’s theorem and F is a finite rank operator commuting with T , then T + F satisfies generalized a-Weyl’s theorem if and only if Ea(T + F ) ∩ σa(T ) ⊂ Ea(T ). Moreover we prove that if T is a bounded linear operator acting on a Banach space satisfies generalized a-Weyl’s theorem and N is a nilpotent operator commuting with T , then T + N satisfies generalized a-Weyl’s theorem if and only if σ SBF− + (T + N) = σ SBF− + (T ).

In this study, two regions have been chosen. The first zone located in Mitidja, Algerian coast and the second in Biskra, in the south of Algeria. Several flowering species could be caught using a pillbox, a butterfly net or a sweep net. Captured specimens were sacrificed then spread out and pinned. The different groups were separated and placed in entomological boxes. The determination was made subsequently. The observations revealed the presence of 47 species of Apoidea, 5 families of Apoidea represented by 15 genera. These 5 families are Apidae with an abundance of 52.9%, represented by the genera Apis, Anthophora, Amegilla, Eucera, Melecta, Bombus and Xylocopa. Among Halictidae (17.8%) are Halictus and Lasioglossum species. Andrenidae corresponds to 14.5% of the specie...

However the involvement of PC programs in the domain of therapy has been approached with so much scepticism. In this research paper I submitted an overview about language diagnosis and therapy, involved a German method of testing the aphasics’ language and used certain PC programs in the sessions of aphasia therapy. The conclusion drawn from the whole work highlights that the amelioration of the disorders and the achievement of recovery can be attained by the therapists within a particular period of time through the use of testing and sessions of therapy intermittently and continuously.

The co-incineration of refuse derived fuel (RDF) has shown several economic and environmental advantages. The objective of this research is to assess the impact of RDF recovery on leachate quality using leachate tests and calculation of greenhouse gases (GHG) reduction in the kilns of a cement plant. The qualitative results of the eluate show that there is an impact on leachate quality depending on the type of waste. The values of the chemical oxygen demand (COD), biological oxygen demand (BOD5), electrical conductivity and pH of the leachate from the raw waste after 120 hours of leaching are 29.33 gO2/kg DM, 14.00 g O2/kg DM, 4.27 ms/cm and 7.57. On the other hand, the values of the same quality parameters of the eluate generated by the waste without RDF are 19.33 g O2/kg DM, 20.67 g O2/kg DM, 2.77 ms/cm and 7.13; respectively. The calculation of GHG reduction shows that the substitution of 83,000 to...

2015 IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference (VPPC), 2015

This paper presents an efficient approach to reduce simulation time over railway driving cycle. F... more This paper presents an efficient approach to reduce simulation time over railway driving cycle. Firstly, the torque-speed map of the driving cycle is discretized into different regions that are represented by a single operating point which is called energy center. This first step is not sufficient when a large lumped parameter thermal model is used to calculate the heating of the motor. Thus, a methodology to reduce the thermal model is described and applied for a real railway driving cycle. Finally, the use of the energy centers with a reduced thermal model enables a strong reduction of the simulation time with a factor of around 15.
