Chemical investigations of aerial parts of Tephrosia purpurea yielded the rare prenylated flavono... more Chemical investigations of aerial parts of Tephrosia purpurea yielded the rare prenylated flavonoids, tephropurpulin A (1) and isoglabratephrin , in addition to a previously identified flavonoid, glabratephrin (3). Structures were established by 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy, as well as by HR-MS analysis; for compounds 2 and 3, structures were confirmed by X-ray analysis.
Phytochemistry Letters, 2008
The phytochemical investigation of the methylene chloride/methanol extract of the aerial parts of... more The phytochemical investigation of the methylene chloride/methanol extract of the aerial parts of Artemisia herba-alba afforded two new natural sesquiterpene lactones 1b,9b-diacetoxyeudesm-3-en-5a,6b,11bH-12,6-olide (1) and 1b,9b-diacetoxyeudesm-4-en-6b,11bH-12,6-olide (2). The structures of the compounds were determined by comprehensive NMR studies, including DEPT, COSY, NOESY, HMQC, HMBC and HRMS.

The chloroform extract of the aerial parts of Caralluma russeliana yielded four acylated pregnane... more The chloroform extract of the aerial parts of Caralluma russeliana yielded four acylated pregnane glycosides, namely russeliosides E-H, three were found now. The structures of the compounds were elucidated using MS, 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, 1 H-1 H COSY, HMQC, NOESY and HMBC experiments.

A phytochemical investigation of the aerial parts of Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus var. viscidiflor... more A phytochemical investigation of the aerial parts of Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus var. viscidiflorus afforded three new [chrysothol (1), 2 and 4] and seven known compounds, including five sesquiterpenes, two cinnamic acid derivatives, two ketoalcohol derivatives and one coumarin glucoside. The structures of two previously reported compounds, 1b and 1c, were revised on the basis of chemical reaction. Structures of the compounds were determined by extensive NMR studies, including DEPT, COSY, NOE, HMQC, HMBC and X-ray analysis. The unpublished X-ray data of the known compounds 6 and 7 are reported. Compounds chrysothol (1), and 8-10 showed anti-cancer activity against human breast cancer cells.
