In this paper, we have used an analytical method based on minimizing loss and generalized it for simultaneous placement of two DGs in two sample networks and we have found the best places and capacities for installation of DGs. And, for investigating the value of the results, the investigation method for all modes is applied in this network. Moreover, the results were compared with the results obtained by PSO method. 33 and 69 buses systems were studied too. The findings show that the proposed method is more accurate than PSO method, and its convergence speed is better than that of the investigation method for all possible modes.

In this paper, the optimal location and capacity of a storage unit is determined by an analytical technique in order to acquire the maximum profit. Target function is a single- variable function in which by its derivation the conditions required for maximization of profit are identified. In target function, all costs and earnings have been introduced as functions of nominal power of storage unit and thereby the capacity of storage unit and location for its installation is derived. This technique has been simulated on a 12 bus distribution network by means of MATLAB software. The authenticity of the derived results from the purposed analytical methods has been verified by review all possible modes for installation and determination of capacity for storage unit in this grid.

Research paper thumbnail of Voltage Stability Evaluation of The Khouzestan Power System in Iran Using CPF Method and Modal Analysis

2010 Asia-Pacific Power and Energy Engineering Conference, 2010

The study of the voltage collapse phenomenon can provide a way to prevent this event from happening. There have been many methods developed to study the criteria of voltage collapse phenomenon but static analysis probably provide the best way to study this phenomenon. This paper presents Continuation Power Flow (CPF) method to assess voltage stability of the Khouzestan power system in Iran for both normal operation and for contingencies. In rest of this work Modal analysis is used to complete the voltage stability evaluation. The voltage stability of the system has been analyzed during the peak load condition of the summer 2007. The calculation identifies the weakest bus where remedial action may be needed for voltage support.
