Empirical findings show that public spending has an enormous impact on long-term but marginal effect on short-term private investment. Specifically, private investment is significantly crowd-in education and defense of government expenditures while significantly crowd-out health and transportation expenditure in the long term. Nevertheless, there is insufficient evidence on short-run causality between public spending on private investment

However, in these applications, the temperature conditions are simulated at higher temperatures of 289K and 300K compared to natural sea anemone Cribrinopsis japonica fluorescent protein. This study evaluates the predictive structure and the molecular dynamic interaction of the protein with its target in different external temperature using ab initio similarity modeling and GROMACS/VMD respectively. Three-dimensional structure of the protein, named cjFP510 were predicted and analysed based on the highest similarity template model of Anemonia sulcata (2c9i) at 66.97%. The predicted model shows alternating a and β helices with longer loops and extra a-helix. cjFP510 was programmed with molecular dynamic simulation with template protein 2c9i as a reference to study its comparative adaptability in two different temperatures of 289K and 300K. cjFP510 was found to be more stable at both temperatures ...

Questionnaires were distributed to 159 respondents who held the position of supervisor and above in the manufacturing sector in Malaysia. The results of this study indicated that two dimensions of knowledge management namely knowledge dissemination and responsiveness to knowledge are significant and positively related to organisation effectiveness. Lastly, the results indicated that the organisation culture does not moderate any of the relationships between knowledge management and organisation effectiveness.

It was found that the negatively charged kaolinite can act as an adsorbent material and it has the ability to adsorb antimicrobial agents. In this study, natural local kaolinite was used to adsorb gentamicin and cationic surfactant molecules as an improved antimicrobial agent. The gentamicin-loaded surfactant-kaolinite (GSK) was prepared by the attachment of cationic surfactant hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium (HDTMA) 4.0 mM on raw kaolinite creating surfactant-kaolinite (SK) and then, loaded with gentamicin sulphate (50 and 200 mg/L). Gentamicin-loaded kaolinite (GK) was also prepared and compared. All samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and CHNS elemental analysis. The characterization results proved that the framework structure of kaolinite was not disrupted after undergoing modification with the antimicrobial agents. The antibacterial activity of the samples was tested against...

Firstly, it attempts to evaluate the technical efficiency and productivity growth of 56 global airlines that operate in two types of business models namely full cost and low cost carriers. Secondly, this study aims to investigate the influence of outsourcing extent and economic development on the performance of airlines from the perspectives of technical efficiency and productivity growth. The study assesses the technical efficiency of full cost and low cost carriers by applying the concept of metafrontier technical efficiency which is introduced by O’ Donnell et al. (2008). Next, the evaluation of productivity change employs the metafrontier concept of Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI) as suggested by Oh and Lee (2010). Finally, the influence of outsourcing and economic development on the technical efficiency and productivity growth are estimated using the One Step System, Generalized Method of Moments estimator (GMM). In comparison to the traditional method which involves judging the deficiencies by personal observation, it is naturally more costly to hire agricultural experts who are more experienced. Besides, judgments by observations are also prone to misinterpretations, which will lead to incorrect applications of fertilizers. In this paper, the automatic detection via Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) is introduced as an automatic classification system for identifying the type of nutrient deficiencies in plant by emulating the judgment made by an agricultural expert when observing the state of the plant leaflets. The main objective of this study is to propose a design of Mamdani-FIS that models the classification of the deficiency type and severity. Oil palm tree ...

A novel approach of in situ biosynthesized AgNP-incorporated synthesized zeolite A (AgNp-SZ) was synthesized at an optimum volume of 0.4 mL of the Orthosiphon aristatus (O. aristatus) leaves plant extract (5%) using an in situ approach. In comparison, Ag-SZ was produced by loading the synthesized zeolite with Ag ions. All synthesized materials were characterized for their morphologies and physicochemical properties. The characterization analyses validate that the biosynthesized AgNP (

The research model is tested using data collected via an online survey from 626 existing users of OPRs in 15 different countries.FindingsThe empirical results revealed that continuous trust is shown to be a significant predictor of customers’ intention to continue OPRs use for future purchases. Additionally, the customers’ perceived confirmation and continuous trust positively influence their perceived usefulness and satisfaction with the OPRs, which subsequently influence customers’ OPR...

However, improper maintenance of the machines can lead to bacterial contamination. Hence, this study aimed to investigate and determine the microbiological characteristics of drinking water from Water Vending Machines (WVM) by isolating and characterizing culturable bacteria in the water and nozzle swab samples. The samples were obtained from WVM at eight different locations around Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. Several unique bacterial isolates were found, from both Gram-positive and Gram-negative groups. Polymerase chain reaction amplification and 16S rRNA sequence analysis suggested that these isolates are from Pseudomonas, Bacillus, and Stenotrophomonas genera. In situ water quality tests which include pH, conductivity, and total dissolved solids were also conducted. Two samples from the inlet source have pH and conductivity value...
