This study assessed the Dynamic changes of miRNA and CRP expression during NAC with aim to identify molecular biomarkers that may predict outcome. Methods: Tissue, blood and serum samples were collected at four time points from LABC patients undergoing NAC, including time of diagnosis (base line) after 1st and 4th cycle of Adriamycin/cyclophosphamide, and after 4th cycle of Docetaxel (end point). We used microRNA-microarray for tissue samples and Proximity Ligation Assay (PLA) for serum samples to quantify global miRNA expression and 92 CRPs in LABC patients. The miRNA and CRPS were correlated with clinico-pathological features including stage, grade and clinical response.Statistical analysis was performed using Significant Analysis of Microarray ( SAM), Student's t-test, and Pearson's correlation test. Significant p value was defined as p<0.05. Results: Tissue miRNA expression ...

Cancer of the breast is the leading female cancer accounting for one fourth of the malignancies. ... more Cancer of the breast is the leading female cancer accounting for one fourth of the malignancies. The tumour remains the most researched, read and practiced upon around the Globe. The treatment has substantially improved breast cancer related outcomes, both for early as well as late stages with substantial improvements in disease free and overall survival. Therapeutic decisions not only rest on clinical & tumour characteristics, but also with the evolution of molecular biology and tissue microarray intrinsic sub-types have been found. Attempts are being made to translate therapy from genomic architecture of individual breast cancer. This facilitates customization of treatment avoiding un-necessary toxicity, costs and inconvenience. Optimizing treatment based on individual breast biology seems logical and allows unifying treatment. The paper reviews literature, incorporate updates and also describes immunohistochemistry based molecular classification: which are found simple to adapt, record, present and subsequently manage, summarizing clinical practices in management of these patients.

Clinical examination, histopathologic features including distinct immunostains combine together to make the rare diagnosis of follicular dendritic cell sarcoma. This entity is often misdiagnosed due to non-consideration in differential diagnosis of sarcoma. It carries a significant potential for regional as well as distant spread and hence categorized as intermediate risk malignancy. Clinical, histopathological and immunohistochemical aspects and therapeutic options of this unusual case are discussed.

Herein, we report the long-term outcomes of PABC from a single institution in an Arab country. Methods: Consecutive patients diagnosed to have PABC between 2005 and 2012 at a tertiary referral hospital from a Gulf cooperation council country were the subjects of the study. Long-term outcomes are reported, with a minimum follow-up of 8 years. Results: A total of 16 patients were evaluable for long-term survival analysis. The median age at the time of diagnosis was 31.5 (26-40) years. Nine (56%) patients were multiparous (> 5 previous pregnancies). The mean gestational age at diagnosis was 19.7±7.4 weeks. Immunohistochemistry revealed the following phenotypes: Luminal A 3 (18.8%); HER-2 enriched 8 (50%); triple-negative 5 (31.2%). Three patients underwent modified radical mastectomy as the initial treatment, of which 2 received adjuvant chemotherapy during pr...
