This cascade transformation proceeds via the coppercatalyzed coupling reaction between 2-aminobenzaldehyde, secondary amine, and alkyne leading to propargylamine intermediate, which, under the reaction conditions, undergoes cyclization into the indoline core. The latter, upon treatment with a base, smoothly isomerizes into indole. Alternatively, indole can directly be synthesized in a one-pot sequential reaction.

Bromoethenyl metalloporphyrins were synthesized by zirconocene-promoted bromomethylenation of beta formyl metalloporphyrins. Bromoethenyl metalloporphyrins were dehydrohalogenated by potassium tert-butoxide to give beta ethynyl or 2-ethynyl metalloporphyrins. It is the first documented example of zirconocene-promoted bromomethylenation of beta formyl metalloporphyrins. Bromoethenyl metalloporphyrins were also synthesized by halo-Wittig route. 2-ethynyl metalloporphyrins were self dimerized to give metalloporphyrin dimers having 1,3-butadiyne linking bridge. FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, UV-visible, elemental analysis, 1H NMR and mass spectrometry were used to characterize the compounds.

Therefore, the present study was designed to extract eco-frien dly natural dyes from easily and abundantly availab le flowers of Punjab and investigated their colouring ability on chrome tanned goat crust leather. In this study , an attempt has been made to produce a variety of shades using natural dye of Celosia cristata Linn., Lantana camara Linn., Rosa damascena and Tagetes erecta L. with and without mordants. Forty different sha des were obtained with mordants and four shades were obtained without mord ants. CIELab values of all dyed leather specimens w ere measured in terms of (L*, a*, b*) using a Spectroph tometer (Spectraflash SF-650X). The findings of th e study revealed that developed fashion shades found fair t o good in terms of dye evenness. Moreover, this stu dy would be served as a shade catalogue guide and an opportu nity for leather industries to promote sustainable fashion de...

Keeping in view the detrimental effects of synthetic dyes on human health and climate, the study was devised to utilize the waste petals of Rosa damascena as natural dye and assessed its potency on chrome tanned goat crust leather. Eco-friendly, aqueous method was adopted for the extraction of the dye. Various shades were obtained with pre-mordanting and post-mordanting methods using ten different mordants. Spectrophotometer (Spectraflash SF-650X) was used for evaluation of colour coordinates of dyed substrates. Very good colour fastness properties with respect to rubbing and light were found with copper sulphate, ferrous sulphate, ferric chloride and acetic acid mordants. Good colour fastness properties were also obtained without mordant. The findings of the study reveal that R. damascena petals are a good source of natural dye for leather dyeing, which will help local tanning industry to minimize environmental problems, lessen dermal issues by providing eco-friendly, non-carcinogenic and non-allergic dyes at low cost.

Industrial textile processing comprises the operation of pretreatment, dyeing printing and finish... more Industrial textile processing comprises the operation of pretreatment, dyeing printing and finishing. These production processes produce a substantial amount of chemical pollution. Textile finishing's wastewater, especially dye house effluent, contain different classes of organic dyes, chemicals and auxiliaries. They are colored and have extreme pH, COD and BOD values, and contain different salts, surfactants, heavy metals and mineral oils. Therefore, dye bath effluents have to be treated before being discharge into the environment or municipal wastewater reservoir. This paper presents the review of different techniques currently used for the treatment of textile effluent, which are based on carbon adsorption, filtration, chemical precipitation, photo degradation, biodegradation and electrolytic chemical treatment. Membrane Technology has also been applied with the objective of recovering dyes and water. Biological processes could be adopted as a pre-treatment decolorization ste...
