The existing solutions for detecting them require additional support from synchronous external sensing or stimulus hardware such as on/off LED circuits, which require extra obligations from the user. For example, a user needs to carry a smartphone and laboriously perform preset motions (e.g., jumping, waving, and preplanned walking pattern) for synchronous sensing of acceleration signals. These requirements cause considerable discomfort to the user and limit the practicability of prevalent solutions. To cope with this, we propose CSI:DeSpy, an efficient and painless method by leveraging video bitrate fluctuations of the WiFi camera and the passively obtained Channel States Information (CSI) from user motion. The problem of finding metric basis of circulant graphs requires the study of metric geometry and has applications in robotics and censor location. A subset W of vertices of a graph G is called a resolving set for G if for every pair of distinct vertices u and v of G, there exists a vertex w ∈ W such that the distance between u and w is different from the distance between v and w. A resolving set containing a minimum number of vertices is called a metric basis for G, and the number of vertices in a metric basis is called the metric dimension of G, denoted by β(G). In this paper, we prove that the circulant graphs, C(n; S) with S = {1, 4} have bounded metric dimension which remains constant (does not depend on n). It is natural to ask for characterization of graphs with unbounded metric dimension.

Due to bandwidth limitation, it is vital to utilize the techniques which can achieve high spectral efficiency. Device-to-Device (D2D) communication, as an efficient way to improve the spectral efficiency, has been proposed to enable devices to communicate directly to each other without the help of Base Station (BS). D2D communication is an effective way to increase spectral efficiency in underlying Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) based network. Since the D2D link reuses the cellular resource blocks (RBs), the int erference is one of the critical issues. In this thesis we focus on the interference management, and have proposed two schemes for resource allocation and power control. Our aim is to minimize total power consumption with certain rate targets on D2D links and cellular users, respectively. Firstly we derive a joint resource allocation and power control (JRP) scheme by using dual decomposition theory. Then we propose a separate resource allocation and power control (SRP) scheme. In summary, the JRP scheme is more power efficient and more likely to be feasible, but its complexity is much higher compared to the SRP scheme. Moreover, we derive a lower bound for the minimization problem and compare it with the proposed schemes .

As of July 07, 2020, a total of 11,748,782 confirmed cases including 540,858 deaths have been reported across the globe. 1 The COVID-19 toll in Pakistan is expanding since its first detection on 26 February 2020, now reached at 234,509 laboratory confirmed cases including 4839 deaths as of July 07, 2020. 1 Importantly, Pakistan is endemic for dengue virus for the last 30 years. According to the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, the number of dengue cases spiked by almost 15 fold from 3204 cases in 2018 to 47,120 cases in 2019, however the actual number is presumed to be much higher than reported. 2 Likewise, in 2020, 416 confirmed dengue cases appeared much earlier than the post-monsoon peak season. 3 The unusual early appearance of dengue in Pakistan further calls for actions and early response to this outbreakprone disease known to played havoc in Pakistan accounting for 90,400 cases and 169 deaths between 2015 and 2019. Countries with fragile healthcare systems like Pakistan need to prioritize regular and consistent disease surveillance and prevention programs including a central epidemic control center utilizing the modern technological support to detect, track and manage infections early on. For many countries, the COVID-19 outbreak set the stage for self-evaluation of their healthcare systems. The peak of COVID-19 outbreak in Pakistan is forecasted to occur by July, 4 the appearance of dengue cases in May has further deteriorated the situation indicating an overwhelmed needs for surveillance and case management in terms of hospital capacity and vector control measures. An important factor for efficient disease management involves the understanding of clinical manifestations to differentiate between COVID-19 and dengue reported with overlapping clinical presentations in diseased individuals including fever, headache, muscular aches etc.
