The purposes of this study are 1) to analize the characteristics of entrepreneurs supporting tour... more The purposes of this study are 1) to analize the characteristics of entrepreneurs supporting tourism industry, based on commitment and competence in Tojo Una-Una Regency and 2) to develop a model for fostering entrepreneurs supporting tourism industry in Tojo Una-Una Regency. Descriptive Qualitative used in this study, and data collected through interviews and questionnaires. The population in this study is all the enterpreneurs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) supporting regional tourism in Tojo Una-Una District. The results of this study indicate that the industry such as transportation services, snacks, performing arts and music businesses are on the 5 th position of the quadrant, while the restaurants, crafts, hotels, inns, and travel agencies busnisses are on the 6 th quadrant. The development model for industries on the 6 th quadrant is increasing commitment through non-technical training aiming at building the motivation of enterpreneurs to believe in their business, willing to devote their mind and time for their businesses; while persistent in their business. Enhancement of competence should be started from basic level of skills of production, finance, and marketing, based on the weaknesses of each business. The development model for enterpreneurs on the 6 th quadrant has strengthen the competency aspects.

It used descriptive research design using primary data obtained from KUD administrators and KUD members through the focus group discussion (FGD). It used FGD because in general KUD activities stopped after being affected by the natural disasters on September 28, 2018, and during the Covid 19 pandemic so that most of the KUD administrators and members were inactive and difficult to find. The findings of this study showed that (1) some KUD businesses have decreased the number of active KUD members, reduced income and SHU (net income) of KUD members due to the natural disasters that damage property and livelihoods of community members, especially members of KUD; (2) The active participation of KUD members has significantly decreased; (3) Only half of the number of KUDs are still running their activities; and (4) Overal, the social capital, co-production, and su...

This study aims to investigate the impact of social distancing policies on SMEs in Indonesia. It ... more This study aims to investigate the impact of social distancing policies on SMEs in Indonesia. It used a quantitative method with a survey design. Respondents were all SMEs in Indonesia that are affected by social distancing policies during the COVID-19 pandemic. It involved a total of 587 SME samples selected randomly. The data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and literature studies. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics with SPSS software to determine the mean value. The result showed that social distancing policies affect SMEs during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is indicated by the decreasing income and demand for SMEs products, and even some have no income (mean values of 2.40) due to the social distancing policies. Besides, the policy’s impact is also shown in the increasing cost of raw materials and production costs due to supply chain problems (mean values of 4.79).
