This paper focuses the characteristics of power waveforms according to different wind speed of se... more This paper focuses the characteristics of power waveforms according to different wind speed of sea surface and then sea wind speed is estimated from the amplitude of power waveforms. The power waveforms are generated from the delay signals of Beidou MEO satellite. The remote sensing of GNSS concept is utilized to get information from sea surface. Because, this technique has been already proved as an effective tool to retrieve significant information from earth's surface since last twenty years. Still now, it has been utilizing as an advance technique for sea state monitoring, i.e. sea wind speed & direction, sea wave height, sea roughness measurement and so on. It is mainly generated the waveforms of Beidou MEO satellite for direct and reflected signals. It is obtained that the amplitude & shape of these power waveforms are varying according to wind speed. It is indicated that there is a sharp relationship between the amplitude of the waveforms and sea wind speeds. Two models are used to generate the waveforms from reflected signals. The wave spectrum model is used to find sea surface slopes i.e. up & cross variance and these up & cross variance is used as input on Z-V scattering model to generate power waveforms. The real wind speed of the experiment site of GNSS-R data collection for same time domain is also collected. The linear regression method is used to established a relationship between wind speeds and amplitudes of the waveforms. This relation is used to measure the sea wind speed. It is found that estimated wind speeds are matched closely with real wind speed and model waveforms performs good results with real data waveforms.

The general objective of the research is to describe and analyze implementation of adopted artifi... more The general objective of the research is to describe and analyze implementation of adopted artificial insemination (AI) innovation on slaughter cattle’s farmers. Specifically, is to describe and analyze the perception of slaughter cattle’s farmers on AI in the three locations of research. Locations of the research are Kecamatan Geger Kabupaten Bangkalan and Kecamatan Mantup Kabupaten Lamongan in East Java Province and Kecamatan Penebel Kabupaten Tabanan in Bali Province. This research was designed as a correlation descriptive survey by both quantitative and qualitative approach. The number of sample is 240 respondents -who is the acceptors of AI- and by approach of stratified random sampling method. Data collection was completed with questionnaires, interview and field observation. Kruskal-Wallis Test and U Mann-Whitney Test were applied to analyze the data sample. The result of the research showed that the perception of the farmers on most of AI’s aspects are significantly different among locations of the research, with the exception of the phenotipe (physical appearance) of breed cattle and the artificial insemination services by inseminators. To be suggested that socialization or extension on AI should be conducted by different approaches to fit the characteristic of internal and external and AI’s perception of the farmers. © 2012 Jurnal Penyuluhan, Department of Communication and Community Development Sciences, Bogor Agricultural University. <p&amp... more <p>The objective of the research is to describe and analyze implementation and rate of adopted artificial insemination (AI) innovation on slaughter cattle’s farmers. Specifically, the objectives are to describe (1) the characteristics of internal and external of slaughter cattle’s farmers, (2) the implementation and the rate of AI’s adoption, and (3) the relationship of internal and external characteristics of slaughter cattle’s farmers and adoption of AI. The research is conducted at Kecamatan Geger Kabupaten Bangkalan and Kecamatan Mantup Kabupaten Lamongan in East Java Province and at Kecamatan Penebel Kabupaten Tabanan in Bali Province. This research is designed as a correlational descreptive survey. The number of sample is 240 respondents and using stratified random sampling method. Data collection is completed using questionnaires, interview and field observation. Structural equation modeling is applied to analyze the relationship and the influence pattern among variables. The average of AI implementation aspects by the farmers is 51.1% and the average of the rate of AI adoption is 2.39 years. The internal and external characteristic of slaughter cattle’s farmer simultaneously are directly and positively influence the implementation of AI and the rate of AI adoption.</p><p>Keywords: cattle breeding policy, perception, artificial insemination</p>

Estimation of forage potency is affected by agroclimate variation, type and land topography and traditional agricultural system . The data availability on forage potency of one area usually is very limited so that the accuracy on area potency will also be low. Remote sensing technique using LANDSAT satellite managed by LAPAN could provide satellite image data on a specific area . 1lvough interpretation of satellite image data by hard and softwares, supported by topography map, thematic map, and agricultural statistic data, forage potency on one area could be analysed quicker and more accurate.
