Sugar moiety usually are found at the 7 th position of flavonoid O-glycosides but rarely found at the 4 th position. Despite their importance, synthesis of flavonoid glycosides was extremely limited 3-11. There are two critical way on the synthesis of glycosyl flavonoid. The first way is synthesis of the flavonoid skeleton via cyclization after glycosylation. The second way is direct glycosylation of the flavonoid skeleton that nucleophilicity of the phenolic hydroxyl group at 7-OH is much higher than 4'-OH in flavonoids 11-13. Actually, direct glycosylation of flavanone skeleton with excess sugar halide and silver carbonate gave only 7-O-glycosides 10. In common with many fruits and vegetables, quince fruit contains polyphenol oxidase (monophenol, dihydroxypheny-lalanine: oxygen oxidoreductase, EC 1.14.18.1; polyphenol oxidase) which a bifunctional, copper-containing enzyme widely distributed in the phylogenetic scale using molecular oxygen, catalyses both the o-hydroxylation of monophenols to give o-diphenols (cresolase activity) and the further oxidation of o-diphenols to o-quinones (catecholase activity) 14-18 .

Activation fraction of each TP is the fraction of the frame duration for which it is active, and together these fractions influence the interference seen in the network. To address this joint optimization problem we adopt an approach wherein the activation fractions and the user associations are optimized in an alternating manner. The sub-problem of determining the optimal activation fractions is solved using an auxiliary function method that we show is provably convergent and is amenable to distributed implementation. On the other hand, the sub-problem of determining the user association is solved via a simple combinatorial algorithm. Meaningful performance guarantees are derived and a distributed variant offering identical guarantees is also proposed. The significant benefits of using the proposed algorithms are then demonstrated via realistic simulations.

Memantine is an NMDA receptor antagonist that has been shown to reverse changes in memory and synaptic plasticity in animal models. This study aims to investigates whether propofol and/or memantine has any effects on erythrocyte deformability. Methods: 24 Wistar albino rats were divided randomly into four groups. Group P received 150 mg.kg-1 propofol intraperitoneally (ip); Group M received 1 mg.kg-1 memantine (ip); Group PM received 1 mg.kg-1 memantine mg.kg-1 ip 30 minutes before the administration of 150 mg.kg-1 propofol; and the control group (Group C) received saline ip. Euthanasia was performed in all rats by using intraabdominal blood uptake. The heparinized whole blood samples were used to prepare erythrocyte suspensions, from which erythrocyte suspensions were formed with a PBS buffer solution containing 5 % htc, and the deformability parameters were measured. Results: Erythrocyte deformability was signifi cantly higher in Groups P, M and PM when compared to the Group C (p = 0.007 and p = 0.001, p <0 .0001, respectively); while the erythrocyte deformability indices were similar in groups P, M and PM. Conclusion: The administration of propofol and memantine altered the erythrocyte deformability in the rats, which may lead to further problems in microcirculation. The administration of memantine to the propofol-treated rats did not alter the erythrocyte deformability; however the early results should be verifi ed through further experimental and clinical studies (Fig. 1, Ref. 23). Waste plastics from packaging materials and other uses are recovered in large quantities. An investigation has been conducted to produce a new building material from fly ash and polyethylene. The work was carded out with two typical coal fly ashes and polyethylene bags. The tensile strengths and the chemical resistance of the materials, in addition to the effect of temperature were examined. Characterization of these materials was also studied by means of XRD, IR and SEM techniques. The tensile strengths of the materials range from 0.92 to 2.62 kp/rnm 2. When the ratio of fly ash is low, better results were obtained. There was no significant loss in weight in solutions of NaOH (5%), CH~COOH (5%), C2HsOH (95%), H2SO 4 (5%) and H20.

Methods: In a double-blinded trial, 42 children (ASA I-II,18 months to 10 years) undergoing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination were randomly assigned to receive dexmedetomidine 1 lgAEkg)1 iv or placebo after induction of anesthesia. Heart rate (HR), mean arterial pressure (MAP), hemoglobin oxygen saturation (SpO 2) were monitored. Anesthesia was induced in all patients, irrespective of group, with 8% sevoflurane in 50-50% O 2 /N 2 O and maintained with 1.5% sevoflurane in 50/50% O 2 /N 2 O. Agitation parameters were assessed with a 5-point scale and measured every 5 min. Delirium was defined as agitation score of ‡4 for ‡5 min. Anesthesia and procedure times and per-and postoperative side effects were recorded. Results: The HR, MAP, and SpO 2 , spontaneous arm or leg motion times and purposeful movement times showed no significant differences between the two groups. The time of removing the LMA, and the time of eye opening with verbal stimuli was shorter in group P than the group D (P ¼ 0.007 and P ¼ 0.01). The time of discharge to recovery room and the time of discharge from hospital were similar in the two groups. The mean agitation scores in the dexmedetomidine group were significantly lower than the placebo group except at 30 min (P < 0.0001, P ¼ 0.001, P ¼ 0.002, P ¼ 0.013 and P ¼ 0.001). The incidence of emergence agitation was 47.6% in group P, and 4.8% in group D (P ¼ 0.002). Conclusion: We concluded that a 1 lgAEkg)1 dose of i.v. dexmedetomidine reduces EA after sevoflurane anesthesia in children undergoing MRI.

Circular dichroism (CD) spectra of cinchona alkaloids and their salts with carboxylic acids have ... more Circular dichroism (CD) spectra of cinchona alkaloids and their salts with carboxylic acids have been investigated. A eontribution of the exciton type Cotton effect to the 230 nm CD band of free bases in non-polar solvents is suggested to result from the association of alkaloid molecules. Strong association is observed in the case of dihydrocupreidine-an alkaloid with free phenolic group. Comparison of the CD spectra of salts of alkaloids with mono-and dicarboxylic acids demonstrates that in the latter case the p-band Cotton effects originate from the exciton type interactions between the associated molecules. The unusual rotations of salts of cinchona alkaloids with biphenyl 1,1'-dicarboxylic acids have been found to originate from the strong intermolecular exciton coupling, rather than from the »first-order asymmetric transformation«. The existence of the two low energy staggered conformations around the C(8)-C(9) bond in the alkaloid molecule has been confirmed by the MMP2 calculation on amodel compound.

This retrospective study was conducted with patients with CCHF. IMA levels in patients with CCHF were determined using the rapid colorimetric method. IMA levels of CCHF patients were significantly higher compared with the control group (P ¼ 0.0001). At an IMA cutoff point of 0.555 ABSU (absorbance units), sensitivity was 65.1%, specificity 82.5%, positive predictive values (PPV) 82.5%, and negative predictive values (NPV) 65.1%. IMA levels of patients with hemorrhage were significantly higher compared with patients without hemorrhage (P ¼ 0.005). IMA has been validated as both a new and sensitive ischemia and oxidative stress biomarker. In addition to its diagnostic significance, IMA investigated in CCHF patients at time of arrival may be an important marker with its prognostic role in determining in the early stage whether the disease will follow a hemorrhagic course.

The first CCHF cases detected in Turkey occurred in 2002 and since then outbreaks have been seen in Central, Northern and Eastern Anatolia, and the Eastern Black Sea region [4-7]. As of the end of 2008, 2,508 patients with confirmed CCHF had been recorded by the Turkish Ministry of Health [8]. The diagnosis of these cases was established by detection of the virus with polymerase chain reaction or anti-CCHFV immunoglobulin M antibody positivity using ELISA. In Turkey, CCHF is encountered during spring and summer, when H. marginatum ticks are active, and reaches peak levels in June and July [7, 8]. To date, no cases have been reported in Turkey during winter. We describe the first such case. Case Description A 60-year-old man living in the central district of Trabzon province was admitted to our hospital's emergency department on December 14, 2008, with the following symptoms: chills, fever, myalgia, anorexia, nausea, vomiting and headache. According to his medical history, a tick was observed on his neck 6 h after he had been slaughtering cattle in an area reserved for this process during the Feast of the Sacrifice (an Islamic festival). In a retrospective casematch study we tried to assess whether infants undergoing heart surgery may benefit from a treatment with rFVIIa. Materials and Methods: In the treatment group (NS) 16 infants (1.7 Ϯ 3 months of age, 3.5 Ϯ 1.3 kg BW) were treated with a single dose of rFVIIa (3-6 KIE per kg BW) after separation from CPB. Another 16 infants (1.9 Ϯ 3.2 months of age, 3.8 Ϯ 1.8 kg BW) served as control (C). We investigated the effects of recombinant factor VIIa on hemostasis, transfusion requirements and blood gases up to 48 hours after surgery. Results and Discussions: Hemostasis (PT) and base excess were significantly better in the treatment group with a trend to reduced postoperative loss of drainage fluids and transfusion requirements.

The hybrid described here was fully characterized by a combination of analytical techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Raman, absorption and emission spectroscopy, atomic force and scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The steady emission characteristics revealed the existence of the effective photoinduced electron transfer among ferrocene, excited porphyrin moiety and SWCNT, which was further confirmed by the results of time-resolved transient absorption spectra. The final lifetime of charge-separation state was observed to be 62.9 μs in N , N -dimethylformamide, which was significant increased compared to the reference nanohybrid porphyrin–SWCNT and the reported ferrocene–porphyrin–fullerene triad. Therefore, Fc–H 2 P–SWCNT triad hybrid constructed by amidation is rationally expected to be an improved photon-to-electron conversion system.

Charge transfer (CT) complexes of anthracene, 9-methylanthracene and 1,n-di(9-anthryl)alkanes with p-chloranil (p-CHL) have been investigated spectrophotometrically in dichloromethane. The colored products are measured spectrophotometrically at different wavelength depending on the electronic transition between donors and acceptor. The formation constants of the CT complexes were determined by the Benesi-Hildebrand equation. The thermodynamic parameters were calculated by Van&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;#39;t Hoff equation.

He removed
