Research paper thumbnail of The performance of composite beams with X-HVB shear connectors after being subjected to fire exposure

Composite construction has emerged as a highly effective methodology for construction in recent d... more Composite construction has emerged as a highly effective methodology for construction in recent decades, typically involving hot-rolled steel beams, profiled seel decks, welded bolts, and an in-situ concrete slab reinforced with a steel mesh. This construction method offers numerous benefits, including damage resistance, good service response, and low cost. The advantages can be further enhanced through the use of X-HVB shear connectors instead of traditional weld-on bolts. X-HVB connectors offer two additional benefits: they can be used in cold rolled profiles, wet sections or rehabilitation elements, and their installation is simple and safe. The connectors are made of cold-rolled steel and come in a range of nominal heights from 40 to 140 mm. However, little previous research has focused on how the X-HVB connectors behave and affect composite beams during a fire. To investigate this, an experimental study was conducted that focused on the effect of fire exposure, the orientation ...

Moreover, the ability of these polymer entanglements to damp turbulence waves and changing the flow regime has been tested at various conditions, and a clear observation showed that the maximum drag reduction always occurs when the highly fluctuated waves were reduced effectively by DRP (and that, accordingly, phase transition (flow regime changed) appeared. This may also help in improving the separation process and enhancing the separator performance. The present experimental set-up has been constructed using a test section of 1.016-cm ID; an acrylic tube section was used to enable visual observations of the flow patterns. A new injection technique has been utilized and, with the use of different injection rates of DRP, the results have s...

The (stl) file is then right inserted to Flow-3D and every model had been tested by at least 15 rans. All the tests were 400 ran. The geometric parameters are :(Influence of the upstream head above the weir crest, Influence of relative length, Influence of Key width, Influence of Height and Influence of difference height of upstream and downstream). This research is based on theoretical experiments which aim to determine the Piano Key Weir discharge coefficient for different geometrical configurations under free flow conditions for type B. An empirical equation was developed using theoretical data, based on the technique dimensional analysis and the statistical program SPSS. The developed formula finds the discharge coefficient and related with seven parameters; the coefficient of determination is (R 2 =0.964). By comparing the developed formula with previous formula on PKW, the results showed a good agreement.

In this paper, a fully automated model is designed using deep learning algorithm to capture images from patients and pre-process, segment and classify the intensity of cancer spread. In the first pre-processing step, pectoral muscles are removed from the input images, which are then downsized. The removal of pectoral muscles after identification may become crucial in classification systems. Finally, the pectoral musclesaredeleted from the picture by using an area expanding segmentation. All mammograms are downsized to reduce processing time. Each stage of the fully automated model uses an optimisation approach to obtain highaccuracy results at respective stages.
