A numerical experiment is de- signed to simulate an aorestation process and a Monte-Carlo simulation was performed to determine how the parameter uncertainties inuence the result.

The reasons for this behavior are multiple, among them are: forest aging, area ...

Research paper thumbnail of EU Energy, Transport and GHG Emissions: Trends to 2050, reference scenario 2013

Research paper thumbnail of Impacts of incentives to reduce emissions from deforestation on global species extinctions

Nature Climate Change, 2012

The reduction of emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD) has been formally recognized as a climate change mitigation option. REDD might have important co-benefits for biodiversity conservation 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, yet the extent of these benefits will depend on as-yet untested associations between fine-scale spatial patterns of deforestation, species distributions and carbon ...

We focus on the analysis of uncertainty in greenhouse gas emission inventories. Inventory uncertainty is monitored, but not regulated, under the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Under the Convention, countries publish annual or periodic national inventories of greenhouse gas emissions and removals. Policymakers use these inventories to develop
