Besides, it permits to remote control the maintenance tasks which will be a gain in time and costs. In this paper, we present “e-MIED for e-Maintenance Intelligent & Diagnostics” as an e-maintenance platform presenting a clear guideline for researcher in this field; we centered the conception of our platform on a completely modular framework in order to allow easily adjusting the global environment behavior in accordance with the requirements of client resources. Moreover, the software platform will be applied on a novel hardware photovoltaic solar platform made by the research team. Fault diagnosis module using Support Vector Machine is applied to distinguish the different health states of a machine or component and it’s considered as the main part of e-MIED platform.

Research paper thumbnail of Efficient and secure real-time mobile robots cooperation using visual servoing

This paper deals with the challenging problem of navigation in formation of mobiles robots fleet.... more This paper deals with the challenging problem of navigation in formation of mobiles robots fleet. For that purpose, a secure approach is used based on visual servoing to control velocities (linear and angular) of the multiple robots. To construct our system, we develop the interaction matrix which combines the moments in the image with robots velocities and we estimate the depth between each robot and the targeted object. This is done without any communication between the robots which eliminate the problem of the influence of each robot errors on the whole. For a successful visual servoing, we propose a powerful mechanism to execute safely the robots navigation, exploiting a robot accident reporting system using raspberry Pi3. This reporting system testbed is used to send an accident notification, in the form of a specifical message. Experimental results are presented using nonholonomic mobiles robots with on-board real time cameras, to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The development and implementation of a BCI system might be the only option left for severely disabled patients to be able to communicate with environment. Therefore, most of the BCI researches have been based on the visual stimulation using the electroencephalogram (EEG) for measuring the brain waves such as event-related potential (ERP). However, recent studies revealed that the tactile modality offers a gaze-independent alternative to the user for reducing eye strain and fatigue. In this context, we investigated a tactile brain-computer interface (tBCI) based on ERP responses using vibro-tactile stimuli around the face and fingers. With regard to novelty oddball paradigm and target-processing, the users have exhibited a different event-related potential in case of a target stimulus. The results of our experiments showed very clear shape of P300 component caused by tactile stimuli which is going to be used in real-time control applications. The efficiency of our ERP-based BCI is strongly related to mean amplitude of the P300 components which was used as a feature over 14 EEG channels in the phase of support vector machine (SVM) classification.

Research paper thumbnail of Human-Robots Interaction by Facial Expression Recognition

International Journal of Engineering Research in Africa

This paper presents a facial expressions recognition system to command both mobile and arm robot.... more This paper presents a facial expressions recognition system to command both mobile and arm robot. The proposed system mainly consists of two modules: facial expressions recognition and robots command. The first module aims to extract the ROI (Region Of Interest like: mouth, eyes, eyebrow) using Gradient Vector Flow (GVF) snake segmentation and the Euclidian distance calculation (compatible with the MPEG-4 description of the six universal emotions). To preserve the temporal aspect of the processing from FEEDTUM database (video file), Time Delay Neural Network (TDNN) is used as classifier of the universal facial expressions such as happiness, sadness, surprise, anger, fear, disgust and neutral. While the second module, analyzes recognized facial expressions and translates them into a language to communicate with robots by establishing command law.

Research paper thumbnail of Safety of Mobile Wireless Sensor Networks Based on Clustering Algorithm

International Journal of Wireless Networks and Broadband Technologies, 2016

Clustering approaches for mobile wireless sensor networks (WSNs) tend to extend the battery life ... more Clustering approaches for mobile wireless sensor networks (WSNs) tend to extend the battery life of the individual sensors and the network lifetime. Taking into account the mobility of the network, a powerful mechanism to safely elect a cluster head is a challenging task in many research works. As a proposed technique to deal with such problem, the approach based on the computing of the weight of each node in the network is chosen. This paper is intended to propose a new algorithm called “S-WCA” for safety of mobile sensor networks based on clustering algorithm using a combination of five metrics. Among these metrics lies the behavioral level metric which promotes a safe choice of a cluster head in the sense where this last one will never be a malicious node. Moreover, a summary of the highlight of the authors' work is provided in a comprehensive strategy for monitoring the network, so as to detect and remove the malicious nodes. Simulation study is used to demonstrate the perfo...
