Proposed technique exploits Bergman minimal model representing glucose-insulin dynamics. A nominal controller based on the principal of dynamic inversion can treat the patient with nominal values of parameters very effectively, but could fail to treat patients with parameters different than nominal values (worse it may lead to hypoglycaemia). Model-following adaptive controller is augmented to the nominal controller to make nominal controller robust to parameter and model inaccuracies. Simulation results shows the effectiveness of dynamic inversion based glucose level control of realistic patient when augmented with model-following adaptive philosophy.
