This research work examined the perception and attitude of librarians in Anambra State towards pu... more This research work examined the perception and attitude of librarians in Anambra State towards publishing in open access journals. The population for the study comprised all the 208 librarians working in the 16 libraries in Anambra State. There was no sampling because of the small size of the population. A self-developed questionnaire entitled “Attitude of Librarians towards Open Access Publishing Questionnaire (ALOAPQ)” was used for data collection. The structured pattern adopted was a four-point Likert - type scale of strongly agree (SA), agree (A), disagree (D) and strongly disagree (SD). The validity of the instrument was established by three experts: one from Measurement and Evaluation; two from Library Information Science Department, all in Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra State. Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Co-efficient was used to obtain a reliability co-efficient value of 0.84 which seems enough for the study. Data collected were analysed using mean. ...

This study sought information from respondents on the problems caused by the students use of cell... more This study sought information from respondents on the problems caused by the students use of cell phones in university libraries in Anambra State of Nigeria. The study adopted descriptive survey research design, that traced the history of cell phones in Nigeria. The population of 3000 registered student’s library users was studied. Sample size of 100 respondents was used. Accidental sampling technique was used to collect data. A self-constructed questionnaire, validated by two experts from the university library was used for data collection from the sampled students. The reliability of the instrument was tasted in Imo State University Library using Cronbach Alpha formula. Reliability coefficient of 0.88 was obtained. Simple percentages and frequency was used for data analysis. The results of the findings revealed that all the student’s population had cell phone, and they use cell phone mainly for communication. The population of this study was made up of 2000 students registered library users of two universities in Anambra State of Nigeria. The research design used was a combination of descriptive survey and linear correlation. A sample of 200 students were selected using accidental sampling technique. A researcher-designed instrument entitled E-Library Resources as a Correlate of User Satisfaction Questionnaire (ERCSQ) was used for data collection. Data was analysed using a combination of descriptive and inferential statistics. The Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) was used to ascertain the strength of the relationship between students' use of e-library resources and their satisfaction. The review is necessary so as to guide students as well as scholars of Library and Information Science who may want to be exposed to the concepts and elements of Library and Information Resources. Design/Methodology: The exploratory approach was used for this study; first a conceptual framework was examined. This was followed by review of Ranganathan’s five laws of Library Science and the Situation Awareness law finally position was taken on the awareness and use of library and information resources. This work studies information literacy as an agent of change in Nigerian University education. Descriptive survey research design was adopted. Four research questions guided the study. The total population from which sample was drawn is 3000 student library users of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, and Paul University both in Anambra State. A sample of 100 students was used.
