The Software Product Line Engineering (SPLE) and the Model Driven Engineering (MDE) are two new forms of software reuse. Software product lines are recognized as a successful approach to reuse in many domains (cars, printers, phones…) and especially in software development. Software Product Line Engineering proposes a set of methods, techniques and a common set of software artifacts for the production of customized software products as atomic or composite services to be reused in SOA-based applications. The main purpose of MDE is to enhance productivity by maximizing compatibility between software systems and simplifying the process of design via reuse of standardized models and design patterns. This paper presents a process for the construction of software product lines using model driven techniques. This process is based on a combination of SPLE and the MDE throw the use of visual techniques for modeling product lines and model driven techniques. We have validated the approach with a common example of software product line to evaluate the approach (airline travel agency reservation system). We propose a tool that supports some software product line visual techniques and model driven techniques.

This study still superficial and insufficient on the database side of the product lines. Accordingly, tool support for variability management has been gathering increasing momentum over the last few years and can be considered a key success factor for developing and maintaining database schemas. While several studies have already been conducted on variability management, none of these analyzed the available tool support in detail. Therefore, we worked on this research field to ensure a continuous evolution of database schemas through the modelling and the implementation of variability in these schemas. Thus, we proposed an approach for modelling and implementing variability in database schemas in database product lines (VariaLBD). In this paper, we present a tool support for variability managing in database schemas. It is a web site which enables the automa tion of the VariaLBD approach that allows the modelling of variability in the different database schemas along its life cycle. Thus, this tool allows the automatic generation of a logical, relational, evolutive , and variable schema of a given database. We also present our results of applying tool support to a case study, a web Content Management System (CMS). In addition, we present a quantitative evaluation of our experimentation which leads to a validation of the latter to show the reliability of VariaLBD.

Therefore, in this paper, we have tried to manage the complexity of modeling variables databases schemas and implement an automatic method of generating this type of schema, and then test it on two cases of studies. To carry out this task we decided to start managing the variability from the more abstract model (metamodel) to coding. Hence the choice to work with model driven engineering MDE approach of Object Management Group OMG: Model driven architecture MDA, since our work is based on modeling and meta-modeling by UML. Indeed, we succeeded, in the end, to manage automatically the variability criterion within the database schema via parameter tables that contain optional features of the main tables of the database schema.

The impact on data management and in particular the database schemas are poorly documented and little studied in the literature. The paper is an attempt to explore some of the issues of the modeling and implementation of the variability in the database through the use of disciplined approaches. We propose a variability management framework. Motivations for developing the framework are three-fold: (a) to facilitate the comprehension of the discipline, (b) to classify and compare existing approaches to managing this discipline and (c) to extract their insufficiencies to propose an approach that remedies these insufficiencies and resolve problems related to this discipline. Finally, we introduce seven different variability management approaches and their instantiation according to the variability management framework.

As an individual trait, this parameter indicates the preferable learning object for a specific type of a learner. When considering collaborative learning environment through online chat and discussion, the learners can express their opinion on a shared learning object. Besides, level of interaction with the object is also important to identify the learning style. The nature of generated contents during discussion makes it difficult to extract the required information. In this paper we discuss how to identify the learning style from the learning object preferences expressed by the learner via the online discussion in a collaborative learning platform. To do so, the paper proposes an ontology-based Dynamic Bayesian Network (DBN) model to represent the relationship between the learning style and preferable learning object. The model also obtains the learner's opinion more than one time by using time slice to make the indication of learning styles more accurate. Consequently, providing the learner the appropriate personalized learning package.

On the one hand, the integration of such sources equips learners with channels to share information, resources, ideas, as well as expressing opinions and comments during the interactions. On the other hand, such integration raises some issues related to personalization by filtering the collaboration support and provide a tailored pedagogical intervention to provide adequate hints and feedback as a means of adaptivity. Existing learning management systems provide restricted collaboration features and are not tailored to students' characteristics like knowledge level and individual traits. In order to overcome these issues, we propose a framework to upgrade the virtual learning environment to provide flexible collaboration and be adaptive to learners' needs. The framework integrates social media tools for seamless collaboration. In addition, it utilizes the generated content during collaboration to identify discussed concepts and learners' characteristics to provide a personalized learning package accordingly. Descriptions of the notions required to develop the framework and an overview of its components and functionality are provided in this paper.

These types of support embrace researchers to enrich the e-learning environment with personalized characteristics with the utilization of the collaboration support outputs. Achieving this requires understanding the existing environments and highlights their eminence. As a result, there are many attempts to state the current status of personalized e-learning environment from different perspectives. However, these attempts targeted a specific view and direction which failed to provide us with the general view of the adoption of personalized e-learning environment with the support of social collaboration tools. This paper provides a classified view of the current status of personalized e-learning environments which incorporate social collaboration tools for providing the personalization feature. The classification adopts four different views to carry out the classification; these views are subject, purpose, method, and tool. The findings show that the utilization of the user-generated contents and social interaction functionalities for personalization is tight and not fully consumed. In short, the potential of providing personalized learning with social interaction and collaboration features remains not fully explored.

On one hand, getting the advantages of ERP systems largely depends on the level of matching of ERP functionalities with the enterprise requirements. On the other hand, Product Line Engineering (PLE) is a method to manage both reuse and variability in a pre-defined way and thus brings software development to a more advanced stage. At the same time, Software Product Lines (SPLs) have emerged as a trend in software engineering. SPLs are set of software-intensive systems sharing a common, managed set of features that satisfy specific needs of a particular market or mission. Building SPLs for ERP systems will have side effects on the implementation process of ERP and will raise the flexibility of both configuration and customization issues of ERP implementation. Objective: The main goal of this study is to provide the different ways of identifying and analyzing the techniques presented in the literature to improve ERP implementation problems using the methods, tools and techniques provided by SPLs. Method: In order to achieve that objective, we reviewed the relevant literatures and analyzed existing studies. Results: This literature review analyzes ten pieces of research in both ERP and SPLs concepts. It shows that the product line aspect can be used to solve configuration and customization issues of ERP.
