Many organizational change initiatives fail to pay adequate attention to planning and evaluation.... more Many organizational change initiatives fail to pay adequate attention to planning and evaluation. Action is always well represented. The paradox is that, by default, unsystematic judgements are made about the effectiveness of change initiatives. However, they tend not to be carried out comprehensively against explicit criteria. Our experience shows that, even when planned evaluation is attempted, it can introduce a range of unintended consequences which can deflect energy from the main change targets.
