Acessibilidade é um tema bastante discutido nas últimas décadas por profissionais e técnicos na á... more Acessibilidade é um tema bastante discutido nas últimas décadas por profissionais e técnicos na área de projetos, bem como no âmbito acadêmico devido a sua essencial funcionalidade nos ambientes. Neste trabalho foi analisado, através de documentação direta, vivência prática, visitas técnicas e um questionário, pontos de melhorias em um subsistema do Hospital Universitário Walter Cantídio. Após esta análise, a pesquisa concluiu que se necessitam de significativas alterações ergonômicas no Setor de Marcação de Consultas, para que possa assegurar no local o acesso, a inclusão e o conforto de portadores de deficiências e/ou mobilidade reduzidas, conforme as exigências da norma NBR 9050/2015.

Yb-fiber laser beam was used successfully to irradiate Al-1.5 wt.% Fe alloy, modifying its surfac... more Yb-fiber laser beam was used successfully to irradiate Al-1.5 wt.% Fe alloy, modifying its surface to improve its corrosion resistance for aerospace applications. Laser-treated samples were examined by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray diffraction (EDX), and low-angle X-ray diffraction (LA-XRD), and tested by Vickers microhardness. The alloy's corrosion resistance was tested by exposure to H 2 SO 4 solution, Tafel plots, polarization, and corrosion potentials. The results reveal the formation of weld filet structures with metastable phases and finely dispersed precipitates. The creation of a finely porous layer of protective coating produced during the rapid remelting process contributed to increase the corrosion resistance of laser-treated samples when compared with untreated samples. The Yb-fiber laser beam technology applied to the surface treatment of aluminum alloys proved efficient in augmenting their corrosion resistance, thus deserving further investigation for aerospace and automotive applications.

Considerando essa aplicação, foi relacionada a biocompatibilidade e biofuncionalidade de algumas superfícies biocerâmicas com o meio biológico, bem como o design envolvido. A sistematização desse conhecimento pode contribuir para o desenvolvimento de novos produtos oftalmológicos em HA.

Homeless persons are numerous, carry a significant burden of illness and face challenges in acces... more Homeless persons are numerous, carry a significant burden of illness and face challenges in accessing care. A search of the literature revealed insufficient empirical sources to permit the use of standard systematic review methodology to determine the most effective way to deliver point-of-first-contact healthcare to homeless people. Instead, we used a policy analysis approach. We found that the dominant model of primary care in Canada performs poorly when assessed on 13 evaluation criteria. While there is variable performance on individual measures, the three alternative models -targeted standard facility/clinic site, fixed outreach site and mobile outreach service -all perform well. Our findings suggest that some factor other than performance on the specified measures, such as costs, feasibility, geographical fit or local preferences, should be used to choose a specific model. Our analysis clearly indicates that the status quo model of primary care is inadequate to meet the needs of homeless people.

We report on the development of luminescent core-shell nanoprobes of SrAl 2 O 4 :Ce(III), Ln coat... more We report on the development of luminescent core-shell nanoprobes of SrAl 2 O 4 :Ce(III), Ln coated by a thin layer of TiO 2 nanotube and nanowire shaped-structures. The core-shell nanoprobes were obtained through an encapsulation process by aging the luminescent particles in a Na 2 TiO 3 solution in the absence or in the presence of poly-(ethylene glicol) (PEG) fillowed by heat treatment. The surface modifications were investigated by electrophoreses, electronic conductivity, SEM, HR-TEM, 13 C and 27 Al NRM MAS spectroscopy. Semi-crystalline titania shell layers with a thickness in the range of ∼60-300 nm, consists of short ordered anatase nanotubes and nanowires with diameter varying in the range of 5-40 nm. 27 Al MAS NMR data demonstrate that only small modifications were created on the host lattice core-structure peaking at 74.85 ppm from the Ti-bonds shell, while 13 C MAS NMR data for hybrid coatings revealed the presence of OCH 2 CH 2 functional groups covalently to the inorganic surface. A facile approach for the synthesis of multifunctional photocatalytic luminescent core-shells presenting elevated stability against hydrolysis in presented.

We report a new method for the synthesis of photoluminescent SrAl 2 O 4 :Ce 3+ , Dy 3+ , Eu 2+ na... more We report a new method for the synthesis of photoluminescent SrAl 2 O 4 :Ce 3+ , Dy 3+ , Eu 2+ nanotubes, PL-SNT:Ce(III), Ln, using solid-state reaction and post-annealing approach. This new optical nanotubular structure was characterized by HRTEM, SEM, AFM, EDX, steady-state and time-resolved PL spectroscopy. A series of f-f and f-d-transitions with light emission in structured bands peaking at 488 nm arising from the polymorphism of the host lattice was correlated with an intercrystalline distal-effect on the afterglow phenomenon.
