İnsanoğlunun yaratılışından bu yana en büyük düşmanı salgınlar olmuştur. Özellikle teknolojinin z... more İnsanoğlunun yaratılışından bu yana en büyük düşmanı salgınlar olmuştur. Özellikle teknolojinin zaman içinde ağır bir ilerleme kaydetmesi ana sebebi ile binlerce yıl boyunca hastalıklar insanoğlunun en büyük düşmanı olmuştur. Ama bazı salgınlar neredeyse insanların kurduğu medeniyetleri, yerleşik yaşamlarını ve ekonomilerini dahi yok edecek kadar etkili olmuştur. Bunlardan birisi de veba salgınlarıdır. M.Ö. dönemlere adar uzanan veba salgınları başladığında önünde hiçbir engel tanımadan ilerlemiş ve tekrar etmiştir. Veba öyle bir salgın olmuştur ki, sınır tanımadan Asya'nın en doğusundan çok kısa sürelerde Avrupa'nın en batısına kadar ulaşabilmiş, denizleri aşarak farklı iklimlerde de değişik yapılarda felaketler yaratmıştır. Tarih boyunca her toplumdaki bilim insanları vebayı anlamaya ve çözüm bulmaya çalışmıştır. Ancak bilimsel gelişmelerin yetersiz olmasının ana sebebi nedeniyle sürekli yetersiz kalmışlardır. Üstelik kitlelerin öldüğü dönemlerde salgın ile mücadele eden görevlilerin tamamı vebanın hedefi olmuş ve kurtulamamışlardır. Makale tarihi eser araştırma yöntemi içinde vebanın Avrupa'da halen etkili olduğu ama çözüm de üretilmeye başlandığı dönem olan 1896-1897 yıllarında, dönemin veba uzmanlarından olan Doktor Jean Lauminiere tarafından hazırlanmış eserin tercümesini kapsamaktadır. Bu çalışma aslında günümüzde Covid-19 ile  Bu araştırma sürecinde; TR Dizin 2020 kuralları kapsamında "Yükseköğretim Kurumları Bilimsel Araştırma ve Yayın Etiği Yönergesinde" yer alan tüm kurallara uyulmuş ve yönergenin ikinci bölümünde yer alan "Bilimsel Araştırma ve Yayın Etiğine Aykırı Eylemlerden" hiçbiri gerçekleştirilmemiştir. Ayrıca bu araştırma "Etik Kurul İzni" gerektirmeyen bir çalışmadır. Fransızca'dan çevirisi yapılan bu makalenin kapağı Ek-1'de verilmiştir.

In the context of the sharing economy, Airbnb has become a formidable mode of accommodation in th... more In the context of the sharing economy, Airbnb has become a formidable mode of accommodation in the tourism industry worldwide, with a presence in over 34,000 cities in 191 countries. However, the risks associated with online bookings are significant dimensions of this e-market domain. This study assesses Airbnb hosts' perceived risks and investigates the effects of service, financial, safety and security, psychological and political risks on the host's satisfaction and intention to continue and recommend this business to potential hosts. A survey was administered to 221 Airbnb hosts located in Northern Cyprus. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to test the proposed conceptual model. The results revealed that host satisfaction is negatively influenced by financial and safety and security risks; continuance intention is negatively affected by financial, safety and security, and political risks; intention to recommend this business is negatively affected by political risk; and psychological risk increases satisfaction and intention to continue and recommend. By highlighting the theoretical and managerial implications, this study informs Airbnb management of the potential risks associated with this peer-to-peer (P2P) business in order to minimize the associated risks, enhance host satisfaction and the quality of their services, and encourage hosts to recommend Airbnb to their peers.

In studies of the impact of tourism, considerable attention has been given to the attitudes and p... more In studies of the impact of tourism, considerable attention has been given to the attitudes and perceptions of host communities toward tourism. However, most of these studies have focused on tourism in general and on sporadic alternative tourism in particular. This study aims to fill a gap in the research literature by examining residents’ perceptions of the economic, socio-cultural, and environmental sustainability of edu-tourism. It contributes to the limited literature on edu-tourism and to that on residents’ perceptions of tourism in small island developing states. A sample of 300 (N = 300) residents was surveyed in the city of Famagusta in Northern Cyprus to investigate residents’ attitudes toward the sustainability of edu-tourism. Over the past two decades, different diseases spread rapidly across the globe and affected people... more Over the past two decades, different diseases spread rapidly across the globe and affected people in every country. In early 2020, the Corona virus reached the potential to infect humans all over the world, inevitably. According to the data obtained, it is observed that the virus does not encounter climatic obstacles, having different features and being able to pass through breathing and live longer. It affects countries on a global scale from sociological, politica and economical dimentions regarding to health issue. In this context, considering the fact that 1,5 billion people move in different aspects of tourism worldwide and it increases by 6% every year, traveler in return carry different diseases and viruses that can turn into epidemics such as Corona. It should be noted that it poses a serious threat to country/world health safety. However, there is also the fact that tourism movements cannot be prevented. Corona virus caused to decrease in tourist movements and demolition of economic. Therefore, in terms of health security, the threat posed by tourist movements is twofold. Carrying of disease by unconscious tourists and decrease in tourism revenues as a result of Corona virus outbreak in Italy and Spain. In this study, the relationship between the health threats and global tourism, stated in the World Health Organization (WHO)' reports will be revealed and will be presented to how to create a conscious tourism movement on a global scale. Corona Pandemic illustrates the importance of health safety. Therefore, physical measures in holiday destinations will never be sufficient. A separate health system will be needed for international health cooperation and tourism activities. Within this system, people will need to provide detailed information about the health measures they will take according to the characteristics of countries to travel to, and there will be trained personnel responsible for health issues within the tour groups. Structured Abstract: Curiosity is one of the greatest features interwined with human life. It has always been attractive to go to different geographies, to come and live together with various cultures. World population has increased over time and the basic needs have increased accordingly.
