This is even more critical in data centres, where the network must always perform at its optimal level to ensure the availability of data and services to the clients. Configuration and maintenance of all kinds of networks, including data centres is tedious, especially when done manually and hence could possibly result in errors and vulnerabilities in the networks. In this research, a network simulation was applied to demonstrate how network management can be centrally administered using the Software Defined Network (SDN) as a way to overcome the said challenges. To actualize the simulation, the Mininet and OpenDayLight were used in the simulations and showed how SDN can be used for network management. The research demonstrated key insights into how networking can be centrally administered with SDN to overcome the challenges associated with traditional network administration.

There are various methodological approaches for identifying the underlying mechanisms of the etiology, symptomatology, and therapeutics of mood disorders; however, neuroimaging studies have provided the most direct evidence for mood disorder neural substrates by visualizing the brains of living individuals. The prefrontal cortex, hippocampus, amygdala, thalamus, ventral striatum, and corpus callosum are associated with depression and bipolar disorder. Identifying the distinct and common contributions of these anatomical regions to depression and bipolar disorder have broadened and deepened our understanding of mood disorders. However, the extent to which neuroimaging research findings contribute to clinical practice in the real-world setting is unclear. Develops a reliability growth model based on non‐homogeneous Poisson process with intensity function given by the power law, to predict the reliability of a software. Several authors have suggested the use of the non‐homogeneous Poisson process to assess the reliability growth of software and to predict their failure behaviour. Inference procedures considered by these authors have been Bayesian in nature. Uses an unbiased estimate of the failure rate for prediction. Compares the performance of this model with Bayes empirical‐Bayes models and a time series model. This is a very useful technology and has many different applications in many different disciplines. Examples of applications include but are not limited to: Use in security by using facial recognition; use in the medical field for classification of cancer types (malignant or benign) or detecting sickle cells in the blood; or it can be used as a research tool to automatically record data (e.g. count the number of trucks that use a particular highway); or used in agriculture or industrialization for quality control; or for entertainment purposes in games that can detect and track a users' movement to control a character in a game. And there are many more examples, in which it can be used. However, just as they are many applications, there are also many methods of implementing these systems, such as Convolutional neural networks, Haar cascades, Scale-Invariant Feature Transformations (SIFT), Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG) and several others including combinations of these. Each technique may have different setup procedures and different applications where one may work better than the other. This paper aims to measure and give a comparison of some of these techniques for object detection and tracking, by looking at their training and testing time as well as accuracy. The methods used in this paper was Haar Cascades and Neural Networks. The purpose of this paper is to learn more about these machine learning techniques by comparing the way they work and the way they were implemented, by doing so one can also understand contexts in which to use these systems. The artifacts used in this paper included a robot that can track an object and an application that could classify an image based on a set of objects it was trained on, that is the application can determine what the picture is of based on a set of images it was trained on.

It focused on using Twitter because of its limitation in the length of the text content posted on this platform. The study revealed the correlation between the sentiments of Tweets posted from Namibia and that of national headlines appearing in local newspapers. The study is carried out using Design and Creation Method as it involves capturing data from the Twitter social media platform using an application that has been developed to the needs of the study, headlines from Namibian newspapers namely The Namibian, New Era, Namibian SUN, Informante and Confidente have been captured manually. This application will also track the sentiment score of Namibian tweets in real time. Additionally, the study also made use of the Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methods to analysed and draw conclusions from the collected qualitative data. The study analysed the sentiment score of the tweets and the newspaper headlines collected, the sentiment scores were graphically plotted to find the sentiment correlation between tweets and newspaper headlines, as well as notable trends. Real-time sentiment analysis of tweets was also carried out to determine the sentiment score of Namibian tweets over a certain period particularly days and months. This study showed us that there is a direct sentiment correlation between tweets and news headlines, whenever the sentiment score of news headlines drops that of tweets drops as well, and this is more evident when looking at the monthly correlation graph in the results section. This implies that news headlines are one of the drivers of social media content in Namibia.

First, an extension of a Bayes empirical-Bayes model for software reliability is considered by assuming time between failures to be Weibull random variables. Then a software reliability growth model based on a nonhomogeneous Poisson process with Weibull intensity function is introduced. An Unbiased estimate of failure rate is used for reliability prediction. This result is compared with predictions by model which fit into the general framework of Bayes Empirical-Bayes problem. The model which assumes that time between failures has an Exponential distribution and the model which assumes the process generating failures to be nonhomogeneous Poisson process with special type of intensity function have been used for comparison. An extension of Nonhomogeneous Poisson Process is derived. This extension considers the intensity function as a function of time, number of erro...

Under Research Methodology, a survey was conducted to gather information about individuals' opinions regarding their possible career choices, and what types of career advice they would like to receive from the system. In addition, the latest research on career guidance was considered in forming the basis of the questions asked. This information was used in chatbot system development on the Facebook Messenger platform, using tools such as the Facebook SDK, the Messenger Platform APIs, and JavaScript, and the Wit.ai API which enables the use of Natural Language Processing, which is a use case of AI techniques. The chatbot understands user input and give relevant and appropriate responses, reliably and in real-time. In conclusion, the results obtained are hoped to result in positive proclivity towards adopting the system, thus serving as a useful asset to any universities or institutions that might wish to utilize it.

It became evident that some people still use grass shears or manually controlled reel mowers to trim their yards. This is exhausting, expensive and subjected to health risks. However, modern technologies can provide solutions to these challenges using wearable technology such as smartphones. This paper focuses on the design and implementation of a low cost and user-friendly remotely controlled lawnmower via an Android mobile application using a smartphone. It further presents the findings of the prototype developed. The study adopted a qualitative research methodology and an agile method to develop a mobile application. Further, a Bluetooth module has been used to allow wireless communication between the application and Arduino Uno Board. Data collection methods consisted of group interviews. The findings indicated that the prototype proved fast, efficient, accurate, flexible, safe, cheaper...

Small-scale farmers are poised to be significant economic drivers in developing countries in Africa. Hence, indicative of the potential in smart farming applications. This research aimed at providing appropriate farming practices information through co-designing an Agricultural Management Application that would maximize small-scale farmer’s crop production. Reviewing relevant literature and applying an experimental design approach, the Agricultural Management Application was developed in this research. The results of the study were satisfactory as the application developed was deemed useful and informative by local farmers. Since only a few crops were listed on the application currently in use, it is further recommended that more crops be added to this mobile application. This will allow farmers to expand their scope of participation and the use of the application.

This is a quantitative study that applied descriptive statistics in analysing the findings. Participants were selected from the general public and several governmental organisations. The findings suggest that the participants believed that citizens’ participation in open innovation could lead to innovative solutions, simple access to government information, effective service delivery, speedy and responsive public service delivery. Participants also believed that involving citizens in governance could reduce the potential failure of government policies. However, the majority of the participants did not believe that citizens’ participation in open innovation would lower costs in terms of service delivery. It was recommended that further studies should be conducted to create awareness of the benefits of citizens’ participation in open innovation in g...
