This intervention includes separate but concurrent programs for youth and caregivers that were developed to change empirically-supported risk and protective factors. We first discuss the risk that parental death confers to youth mental health and social adaptation outcomes. Next, we discuss the theoretical framework underlying this program. After describing the content and structure of the program, we describe the results of an experimental field trial and discuss directions for future work.

Bulletin of Electrical Engineering and Informatics

This paper focus on the simulation and hardware analysis of a diode clamped multilevel inverter (... more This paper focus on the simulation and hardware analysis of a diode clamped multilevel inverter (DCMLI) fed direct torque control (DTC) permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive in electric vehicle (EV) application. DTC-PMSM drive is more used for torque and speed control. The existing DTC PMSM drive consists of torque and flux hysteresis comparators and suffers from variable switching frequency and torque ripples. These problems can be solved by using carrier-based space vector modulation (CBSVM) about torque and flux. In this proposed approach a DCMLI fed 4 poles, 0.5 HP DTC PMSM drive system is designed and simulated using carrier-based CBSVM. Simulation and experimental implementation are carried out in MATLAB environment and AVR Microcontroller respectively. The simulated performances are studied in steady-state and transient conditions for varying load, speed, and torque. The results of the DTC-PMSM drive system using CBSVM show that the proposed method can effectively r...

Research paper thumbnail of Identification of Fault Condition and Switching Event for Improvement of Overcurrent using Symmetrical Components

As the overcurrent is for very short period of time, it can be cleared automatically within 1minute and does not damage the system. But the transient current during switching is treated as a fault current and system gets disturbed, due to tripping of the relays. To analyze such conditions, the method of criterion function ‘R’ is proposed in this paper based on symmetrical components. Which is further implemented in MATLAB as a simulation for 13 bus bar distribution system and output waveform for particular value of criterion function ‘R’ is shown and explained for different fault conditions on power system equipments such as transformer and Induction Motor.

DGA (Dissolved Gas in Oil Analysis) cannot provide better fault diagnosis results when multiple faults are involved. The boundary values specified by the ratio methods are of limited concern .Considering the limitations of convergence of the conventional neural networks in the local minima, fuzzy logic may take care of the uncertainties in fault conditions. Fuzzy decision is used to deal with various incipient fault conditions including the normal condition with major faults as per the IEC Ratio codes. The comparative of the fuzzy system, conventional IEC method of fault diagnosis and Roger’s ratio diagnosis of some oil samples of transformer and data from research paper are presented. Rule based fuzzy decision on various faults is made using IEC Ratio codes.

In power electronic switches, soft switching is a possible way of reducing losses. Soft switching... more In power electronic switches, soft switching is a possible way of reducing losses. Soft switching refers to the operation of power electronic switches as zerovoltage switches (ZVS). All the power electronic switching devices undergoes zero-voltage switching during turn-off. In the converter, the switches undergo zero-capacitive turn-on losses unlike switches in other soft-switched topologies. This soft-switching technique can also be applied to other classical switched mode power converters. The structure of the proposed converter is simpler and cheaper than other resonant power converters. In this paper, single-switch resonant power converter offering the advantages of soft switching, reduced switching losses, and increased energy conversion efficiency for Photovoltaic applications is presented. This circuit topology integrates a single-switch resonant converter with zero-voltageswitching. The operating principles and the steady-state analyses of the proposed interleaved buck, boos...

Power transformer is such a prime equipment of the transmission and distribution system and needs to be continuously monitored for its well-being. Since ratio methods cannot provide correct diagnosis due to the borderline problems and the probability of existence of multiple faults, artificial intelligence could be the best approach. Dissolved gas analysis (DGA) interpretation may provide an insight into the developing incipient faults and is adopted as the preliminary diagnosis tool. In the proposed work, a comparison of the diagnosis ability of backpropagation (BP), radial basis function (RBF) neural network, and adaptive neurofuzzy inference system (ANFIS) has been investigated and the diagnosis results in terms of error measure, accuracy, network training time, and number of iterations are presented.

Incipient faults inside the tank and winding insulation needs careful attention. Traditional ratio methods and Duval triangle can be employed to diagnose the incipient faults. Many times correct diagnosis due to the borderline problems and the existence of multiple faults may not be possible. Artificial intelligence (AI) techniques could be the best solution to handle the non linearity and complexity in the input data. Comparison of the diagnosis performance of both the methods of ANFIS and the feasibility pertaining to the problem is presented. Diagnosis error in classifying the oil samples and the network structure are the main considerations of the present study.
