This study overviews development and validity of a pool of multiple-choice test items of geometry... more This study overviews development and validity of a pool of multiple-choice test items of geometry part of Mathematics for secondary level. A table of specifications was prepared and a pool of 48 multiple-choice type test items was developed from the test universe. The content validity and face validity of test items was determined with the help of a team of experts. Sample of the study was 488 students of class 10. After determining the validity and reliability through item analysis and quantitative and qualitative analysis of the test, it was concluded that 30 out of 48 items in the test were valid, reliable and suitable for measurement of the learning achievements in the course. Therefore, these items are useful in the boards of examinations for 9 th class in Punjab (Pakistan).

Teachers are given a moral code and expected to follow the ethics while working in institutions. ... more Teachers are given a moral code and expected to follow the ethics while working in institutions. Monitoring authorities are responsible for observing the school teachers’ enactment of the professional code and take action against delinquents. The present study investigates professionalism as a moral code of secondary school teachers by a survey of their perceptions. A questionnaire and observation sheet were used as data collection tools. The sample of the study was forty schools and 120 teachers from Bahawalpur District in Pakistan chosen through multistage sampling. Results through mean comparison using a paired t- test indicated that the majority of teachers had insight about professionalism but did not practice it. It is therefore recommended that education departments should utilize this aspect in their teachers and deploy special mechanisms for the practice of professionalism.

Review of literature on assessment indicates five assessment paradigms in relation to aims of assessment in teaching. The present study discovers the English teachers’ paradigm preference of multiple assessments to explore the purposes of assessment of English teachers in searching most suitable assessment paradigm for improvement of students’ achievement scores in examinations. The provision of educational facilities and opportunities as per their needs also help them to develop their maximum satisfaction for their educational institutions. As much as these special students are satisfied, there are better chances for the academic achievements. This study has been conducted to analyze various educational opportunities and facilities for the special needs of students at University of the Punjab. The analysis of result revealed theoretical and practical implications for special students at higher education. It is concluded that satisfaction level of students with special needs from educational facilities and opportunities provided at the University was a bit more than average. The study involved academicians working under distance education system as the faculty of education. It used a questionnaire depending on five point Likert scale. Its content validity and face validity was determined by expert opinion method. Reliability of tool was determined through Cronbach's alpha that was 0.83. It concluded that assignment questions were well prepared. They covered entire courses. Question papers were well balanced but validity of question papers was not determined. Furthermore, marking of assignments was not satisfactory and the institutions did not ensure accuracy of marking of assignments and answer scripts. Data was collected using open ended questionnaire, answered by random sample of 1683 distance learners enrolled in B.Ed program. It concluded that learners does not receive the study packages and examination related intimations such as roll number slips, examination schedules and result cards on time. All tutors do not communicate their proper addresses and contact numbers to students that make difficult for learners to submit their assignments on time. Some tutors also do not send assignments to students after marking. Study centers, workshop venues and examination centers are selected far away from their residences and do not have proper physical facilities. The article examined the relationship among Problematic Mobile Phone (PMP) usage, academic procra... more The article examined the relationship among Problematic Mobile Phone (PMP) usage, academic procrastination and academic performance among college students. The terms PMP and academic procrastination both are defined as an excessive usage of mobile phone by ignoring time and all other assignments, and delay in educational assignments and all other academic activities till the deadline respectively. Cross-sectional correlational research design was used for sampling of college students (N= 200) of age 17 to 25 years. PMP questionnaire (Billieux, 2008) and General Procrastination Scale (Lay, 1986) were adopted to collect the data from students. Pearson Product Moment correlation and hierarchical regression analysis was used to analyze data through SPSS. The results revealed that excessive usage of mobile phone is associated with a poorer performance of students in academics. It was found that academic performance is high among male students as compare to female college students. Another finding revealed that academic procrastination and PMP was significantly high among college students studying in annual system and academic performance was significantly high studying in semester system. Moreover, PMP use and academic procrastination in their combined effects did not emerge as significant predictors of academic performance among college students.

The article examined the relationship among Problematic Mobile Phone (PMP) usage, academic procra... more The article examined the relationship among Problematic Mobile Phone (PMP) usage, academic procrastination and academic performance among college students. The terms PMP and academic procrastination both are defined as an excessive usage of mobile phone by ignoring time and all other assignments, and delay in educational assignments and all other academic activities till the deadline respectively. Cross-sectional correlational research design was used for sampling of college students (N= 200) of age 17 to 25 years. PMP questionnaire (Billieux, 2008) and General Procrastination Scale (Lay, 1986) were adopted to collect the data from students. Pearson Product Moment correlation and hierarchical regression analysis was used to analyze data through SPSS. The results revealed that excessive usage of mobile phone is associated with a poorer performance of students in academics. It was found that academic performance is high among male students as compare to female college students. Another finding revealed that academic procrastination and PMP was significantly high among college students studying in annual system and academic performance was significantly high studying in semester system. Moreover, PMP use and academic procrastination in their combined effects did not emerge as significant predictors of academic performance among college students.

It was an Ex Post Facto study in which data was collected about the cases of elementary class children in Pakistan.
